Three students from Lincoln High School have recently been selected for South Island Volleyball teams. Mackenzie Greaves (Year 11) and Alice Quinlivan (Year 12), have gained selection for the South Island Under-17 Volleyball team. This team will compete at the Australian Junior Volleyball Championships in July. This is essentially the Australian state championships, so the South Island team will be playing against the likes of NSW and Queensland teams. Christine Chambers has been selected in the South Island Und er - 19 t eam t hat recently competed in the Trans-Tasman Quadrangular tournament in Tauranga. The South Island Team played against the North Island, New South Wales and Queensland Under-19 sides in a mini tournament.
“All three girls started playing volleyball at the end of 2012 and have done well to get this far in a relatively short space of time,” comm ented Mi kael e Tuu’u Head of the Physical Educat ion and Healt h Departments at Lincoln High School.
