And the seemingly perfect academic haven of Oxford continues to provide plenty of cases for Inspector Lewis and his young partner, Detective Sergeant Hathaway (Laurence Fox).

Masterpiece Mystery! “Inspector Lewis, Series VI” airs Sundays at 9pm beginning June 16 on KQED 9.

First came Inspector Morse, then Inspector Lewis. But that’s not the end. The beginning, Endeavour, the prequel to the Inspector Morse series, returns to KQED in July.

Director Tiffany Shlain is scheduled to be in the KQED studios to introduce the film.

KQED Public Radio

Connected: An Autoblogography About Love, Death and Technlogoy makes its television debut on KQED 9, Saturday, June 15, at 7pm.

On Q June 2013

The three-episode series begins with a chilling episode titled Down Among the Fearful. When a psychic is found murdered, Lewis and Hathaway discover that the victim is really an Oxford psychology research fellow. As they probe further, the truth behind the psychic’s double life unravels, revealing numerous possible suspects. The following week, don’t miss The Ramblin’ Boy. With Hathaway on holiday, Lewis is assigned a new partner to investigate the discovery of an elderly man’s body in a field. Finding that the man had already been embalmed, the inquiry leads to a funeral home and those connected to it, including one of Lewis’ former colleagues. Peter Davison (Doctor Who) guest stars. In the final episode, Intelligent Design, Lewis and Hathaway are called in to examine the brutal death of a chemistry professor recently released from prison, which may be connected to the discovery of a murdered Oxford student reported lost for 15 years. As more casualties and suspects emerge, Lewis considers his future on the force. Edward Fox (Foyle’s War) guest stars.

Connected explores how, after centuries of declaring our independence, it may be time for us to declare our interdependence instead. Get magazine online: kqed.org/OnQ KQED.org

Have you ever faked a restroom trip to check your email? Slept with your laptop? Or become so overwhelmed that you just unplugged from it all? In Connected, local director Tiffany Shlain takes audiences on an exhilarating rollercoaster ride to discover what it means to be connected in the 21st century. From founding the Webby Awards to being a passionate advocate for the National Day of Unplugging, Shlain’s love-hate relationship with technology serves as the springboard for a thrilling exploration of modern life — and our interconnected future. Equal parts documentary and memoir, the film unfolds during a year in which technology and science literally become a matter of life and death for Tiffany. As her father battles brain cancer and she confronts a high-risk pregnancy, her very understanding of connection is challenged. Using a mix of animation, archival footage and home movies, Shlain reveals the surprising ties that link us not only to the people we love, but also to the world at large.
