Random Tape brings out non-narrative audio ephemera from KCRW host David Weinberg’s archives. Most episodes are only a few minutes long. “Candy’s Hair Affair” is a cut of a tape that captures what appears to be role-playing exercises at a beauty school; Weinberg found it in a Louisiana thrift store.

Don’t Miss This! I’ll be honest: After watching the thrilling and conclusive first season finale of Guilt, I had no idea how they were going to continue the story. But I’m here to say that Guilt, Season 2, takes this Scottish thriller to new heights that I couldn’t have imagined. Lawyer Max Bonnar is now bent on taking revenge on his dangerous enemy Roy Lynch. Max forms tenuous alliances with an undercover cop and Roy Lynch’s own daughter to take Roy down, but who can he really trust? Guilt is always unpredictable and darkly comedic — once you start watching you’ll need to know how it ends. Luckily, Passport members can binge the whole season on August 28, the night of the Guilt Season 2 broadcast premiere. —Emma Casley, KQED TV Programming Associate Photo courtesy of (C) Expectation/Happy Tramp North 2021.

Watch the Rise and Fall of the Boleyns, England’s Most Scandalous Family What drives our fascination for the Boleyns? If you’re like me, you’re probably already familiar with the infamous Boleyn family — particularly Anne and Mary — thanks to the 2008 film The Other Boleyn Girl, which is based on the 2001 book of the same name. Evidently, there isn’t a shortage of Boleyn family entertainment for us 21st-century folk to indulge in. However, The Boleyns: A Scandalous Family is different from its predecessors because it’s a three-part series that’s narrated by historians with actors performing several significant scenes from the family’s unique perspective. Depicting the rise and fall of the Boleyn family during the reign of King Henry VIII in 1500s England, the show explores Thomas

Boleyn’s determination to elevate their family name. His expectations and ambitions for his three children — starting with the beautiful and sophisticated Anne Boleyn, who dazzles the court while her family plays the long game of catching a king — take them into the heart of the Tudor court. Follow Anne’s journey as she becomes queen and changes the course of British history, a dangerous game with the Boleyns unaware of the high price they’ll have to pay. The Boleyns: A Scandalous Family is a story of love, sex and betrayal. The first episode airs on Sunday, August 28, at 8pm on KQED 9. —Sophie Kim, Editorial + Production Assistant

Sunday, August 14, at 9pm on KQED 9 Tune in for the sixth and final episode of Season 7. When another homeless man is found dead and killed in the same way as the previous victims, Geordie and Will realize that they may have sent the wrong man to prison and the real killer may still be at large. DID YOU KNOW? Anne Boleyn

• Anne Boleyn's sister, Mary Boleyn, was one of King Henry Vlll's mistresses. Their mother, too, was rumored to have had an affair with the king earlier. • Anne Boleyn was decapitated by a single sword blow to her neck. Her brother, George, was killed two days before she was, accused of incest and of scheming to kill the king.

COMING IN SEPTEMBER

The U.S. and the Holocaust Check your Sept. issue for dates and times A new three-part documentary directed and produced by Ken Burns, Lynn Novick and Sarah Botstein examines the rise of Nazism in Germany in relation to global antisemitism and racism, shedding light on what the U.S. government and American people knew and did as the catastrophe unfolded in Europe.

All the President’s Men Saturday, August 6, at 8pm on KQED 9 This 1976 biographical political drama follows Carl Bernstein (Dustin Hoffman) and Bob Woodward (Robert Redford), two Washington Post reporters who are assigned to research the botched 1972 burglary of the Democratic Party headquarters at the Watergate apartment complex and make a connection between the burglars and a White House staffer. • There are no surviving portraits of Anne Boleyn painted during her lifetime, but there is a commemorative medal made during the three years she was married to King Henry Vlll. It may have been created to honor the expected birth of her second child (she either miscarried or the baby was stillborn).
