Message from Miss Fazakerley
It is hard to believe another two weeks of this year has passed, the time seems to be flying by, particularly on the lead up to our options.
Unfortunately, the weather has not been as warm as we would like it to be, so just a reminder to make sure you are coming to school in warm and dry clothes as we cannot always guarantee that students will be inside all day. Please know that our expectation is that students remove their hoods/hats on entry to the school buildings and they should not be left up when inside.
We have lots of opportunities for the Year 9s coming up, on the lead up to their options. Please make sure that we are grabbing these opportunities with both hands. Attending the extra-curricular clubs and ensuring to get the most out of the Roding Valley High School journey.
Year 9 students will have received a letter regarding the Andorra Ski Trip for next February Half Term, if this is something you are interested in please let me know. All payments can be made on parent pay and the letters can be found on the school website.

Our Year 9 girl’s rugby team attended the U14's Rugby tournament at Robert Clack School. Coming third in their second ever time playing rugby was incredible. The passion and effort these students always bring to sports fixtures never ceases to amaze me. Player of the day going to Evie Ward!
As always if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact academic mentors or myself (jfazakerley@rodingvalley.net)

In England, a Free School Meal (FSM) is a statutory benefit available to school aged children from families who receive other qualifying benefits and who have been through the relevant registration process. Recently, the process of applying for Free School Meals at Roding Valley High School has changed to an online application in order to improve speed and reduce the burden of paperwork for parents. For more information on the qualifying benefits and for more information, please visit our Free School Meals page on our school website
It is important that parents register their children for free school meals if they are entitled as the school receives additional funding known as the Pupil Premium to support the children’s learning. The use of the pupil premium is personalised to meet the needs of the children who are entitled to support, such as 1-1 tuition, additional LSA support and intervention groups, access to school visits, Learning Mentor, speech and language assistants, Family Support and counselling.
If you believe that your child is eligible for Free School Meals, please click here to use our Free School Meals Checker. Your Certificate of Eligibility will then need to be emailed to finance@rodingvalley.net
