If you are new to the center or had not been in the center for a while then don’t miss our “Try Us Out” event the first Thursday of each month at 9:00am. Congregate Meal Center News
The Senior Foundation, Inc. – Johnson City would like to thank those who donated supplies and made monetary donations to their Spring Forward for seniors’ project. This project helped 218 low income seniors in the Johnson City area supplying them with food and other household items. Thank you again for your support. Next event will be the 2nd Annual Frank Hawkins Dance – “Dancing under the Stars” on Friday, June 14 with the Richard Banks Band & Tony Rominger. Their Swing Into Action Golf Tournament will be held on Friday, October 4 at Tri Cities Golf Club. FTHRA serves lunch Monday through Friday from 11:30am -12pm. Are you new to the game of pickleball? Then this is the class for you. Pickleball 101 will allow you to learn the game and the fundamentals of how to play the game. Each class will build and allow you to become a pickleball player in just a few weeks. Limited slots available so preregistration is required. Total of 8 sessions.
Champions of the Court
(Ages 18+); MPCC Outdoor Pickleball Courts; Mondays April 15, 22, 29, May 6, 13 (final play will be winners from previous nights); Cost: Free
Champions of the court is for intermediate/ advanced pickleball players. There will be 24 slots available each night and you must sign up each Monday night you would like to play. Your starting doubles partner will be randomly selected and you will have a chance to play with other partners. Eight rounds of play will determine the champions of the court for that night. On Monday, May 13 all the champions of the court from the previous weeks will play for the final champions of the court. Pre-register by calling 423-434-5749 or at Memorial Park Community Center. Registration required the Friday prior to the Monday night play. Can only sign up for one week at a time. You can then sign up for the next week on Tuesday prior to the next Monday event. Play will start at exactly 6:00pm in order to get all rounds completed.

Guidelines for Day Outings from Johnson City Senior Center
1. Each person or couple may only purchase two tickets.
2. All tickets are non-transferable.
3. You may not give your ticket to a third party. All ticket sales will be managed through the senior center. Tickets will be first offered to participants on the waiting list.
4. If you are unable to participate in an outing, please notify the front desk as soon as you know you will not participate. We will attempt to re-sell your seat to the next person on the waiting list. If we re-sell your ticket, we will credit your account for a future outing.
5. No refunds or credits will be given for cancellations or no-shows on the day of the outing.

This will be about a 3 miles hike at Lower elevations and on the trail by the river. Some stairs and rocky parts. We will meet in the parking lot next to the playground. Please pre-register.
Wednesdays, 3-4:30pm
Come join the fun, meet new friends, enjoy a variety of music and expand on your existing line dance skills! This is generally an IMPROVER level class with some beginner dances also included, so previous line dance step knowledge is strongly recommended.

This hike will be up and over the ridge then back by the lake. It’s about 5.8 miles. Meet at the parking lot of Rooster Front Park. This has some elevation to it. Bring plenty of water. Restrooms Half Way. Please register.
Margarette Falls

This is about a 5 mile hike to the waterfall. It is very rocky and has lots of roots .There is a creek crossing. Bring poles. We will meet in the parking lot at the falls at 9am. Please register No transportation will be provided by the center.
