Get Your Play On! During Park and Recreation Month, the National Recreation and Park Association challenged local parks and recreation department’s to get their play on. On July 15, Memorial Park Community Center hosted the department’s park and recreation month celebration. Staff members from athletics, administration, seniors, and recreation services put their heads together and created an event to capture the essence of play. ‘Get Your Play On Saturday in the Park’ featured an evening of outdoor oldfashioned games, inflatable fun, hiking at Jacob’s Park, basketball contests, a watermelon eating contest, balloon artist, chalk fun, water games, s’mores, entertainment, food, and an outdoor movie with free popcorn. The fun was endless!
