A Splashing Success! By all accounts, the splash pad at Rotary Park is a huge success. Everyday since opening on May 27, the playground area has been filled with children and parents cooling off from the summer heat. Success is evident by the laughter, excitement, and thrill the kids experience as the water buckets spill the refreshing water over them. Other interactions are happening that have nothing to do with water. People from all walks of life are hanging out and having fun together. It doesn’t matter the color of your skin, the side of town you live, the school you attend, or your age, the splash pad is cool place for summer. Kids who can barely walk are playing right along side tweens. Parents are enjoying adult conversation as they watch their children, and quite often the parents are joining in the fun. There’s a true sense of community coming together for a common cause … getting relief from the summer sun. The splash pad and playground was a win-win proposition no matter how you look at it!
