Krepop Investor/ Investor: Bytové družstvo Bratislava I Realizácia/ Construction:1988-1995 Popis štruktúry/ Brief description: Residential houses on Martingerova street in Bratislava, close to Drotárska street and Horský park are literally encircled with verdure. It consists of 3 residential houses at height of 5-8 floor that have in ground plan cranked form. In spite of fact that they are made of brick, by its formation they suggest a panel characteristic for socialist era. Houses are characterized by colorful window frames and coat of rails – untraditional blue, green and yellow color is used there. On the roof you can see indication of architectonical settlement with volumes of elevator wells and stairs. Simple formation of façades with gray plaster suggests that it was one of the first “new buildings” realized after 1989. The advantage of this residential ward is the nearness of city centre, in spite of fact that houses are located to nice and quiet locality, known as Machnáč Hill. Most of the apartments are west-east oriented, houses in western side dispose of nice view on thick vegetation. By its positioning in terrain as well as severe architectonical form they suggest city walls. Residential complex, in spite of being practically in the city centre, is not well connected to public transport. The nearest tram stop providing connection to centre is more than 700 m remote, the bus stop is only 200 m remote, but it is just a local link providing connection to main railway station. So for the comfortable life in this area in otherwise high-class surrounding you need to have your own car.
