This great sale takes us into the holiday season of the year and always comes with a great feeling. This year again we see a strong set of bred heifers from the excellent breeding programs of Skywest, Keet & Applecross. These programs have all excelled in their own respective bull sales. The heifer calf group from Beechinor Land & Livestock, Langer Fleckvieh & Keato Meadows are those with a blend of the most proven genetics and modern day for secured quality. These breeding units have also paved their successful trails in the bull sale side of the business. With no shows happening this year and limited public marketing opportunities available to breeders all across the country, our Eastern Canadian friends from Alliance Simmentals and Donovandale Simmentals are showcasing some top bull calves in this year’s Equation sale. Every so many years I like to point out the history of the Equation Sale and remind everyone of the historical roots it has. The great Fleck Fest Sales that were developed in the late ‘80’s deserve so much of the credit for giving us this opportunity to operate under the Equation banner that it’s evolved into today. And maybe not applicable to this years sale, although I think it’s relative to the history and they deserve credit, is a family who stood the test of time contributing so much for decades, who proudly have the last name of “Wolfe”. I may be wrong, but I think this is the first time we will not have cattle selling in a “Fest” or “Equation” sale ever from a “Wolfe”. It may seem odd to some of you that I choose to talk about someone not in the sale, but I will argue that a public appreciation is long overdue and now is the time to express that. We wish them the best in future marketing success and deeply thank them for all they have done for the Fleckvieh strain of Simmental. Hetero-Polled (Scurred). Full Fleckvieh. We thought it only fitting to start our 2020 Equation offering with a bred heifer out of our popular ‘P-Line’ in Paprika. She is a load, and our easiest keeping heifer. We have six P females working here, a seventh vetoed by Jeanne for 2022 calving, and our junior herd sire in APLX Wedge, that all originate with our foundation acquisition of Spruceburn Pauline in 2009. Together they have had progeny top both our Equation (Penny, Pippa) and Red Deer Bull Sale Strings (Wrangler). On the sire side, Eclipse daughters have done very well for us, and have also gone on to produce high end progeny for their successful buyers. Eclipse semen is now extremely rare, so we anticipate very few opportunities to present an Eclipse daughter in the future. Please note that while Paprika is genetically double polled, and tested hetero polled, she does exhibit the scurred gene; with small scurs being uncovered during clipping for her sale picture. Hetero-Polled. Full Fleckvieh. Lyanna is a very long bodied female, a trait that clearly traces back to her maternal grand-dam, DLD Lady Western 48R. While I tend to pick on Jeanne for consistently vetoing the P-Line, I should admit to keeping five ‘Lady’ daughters working here at Applecross. Even with five daughters in the herd, it is still difficult to part with this grand-daughter. We really like this WowEffect- Delmonte combination, as the cross just seems to work. Tanis is another great example of the Delmonte-WowEffect cross, that showcases soft-made, deep sided characteristics with an extra dose of style. One of the intangibles of Delmonte was his stage presence. He had a tendency to pose for us, just standing in the pasture, chilling the most; king of his domain. This trait is hard to quantify, but one we are so incredibly thankful that he has passed to the bulk of his progeny. It also has the added bonus of making picturing easier! This cow family has also done quite well for us over the years, with grand dam Taylor producing Tessanne for Equation 2015 and great grand dam, HEMR Tasha providing us with our first ever sale-topper in APLX Axel back in 2013. Tanis carries loads of volume and capacity, while still retaining neck extension and femininity, to form a complete and balanced female.

Full Fleckvieh We were very impressed when we first saw JNR Cashmere. Great looking, well pigmented long bull with lots of natural muscling who walked out really good on a big foot and lots of bone mass. His calves came easy (all polled of course) with low birth weights and lots of growth to them. We are very happy with both the heifers and bull calves and would like to thank Lonestone Farms for allowing us a chance to get in on the ground floor of this game changing homo polled 100% Full Fleckvieh herdsire. We only ended up with 3 Cashmere heifer calves so 2 for me and 1 for you seemed to be the only fair thing to do. When walking through the pen at home it is normal to find yourself gravitating towards Covergirl. She is very soft made, nice fronted, feminine heifer that is so easy to work with. Her dark hair coat and long deep body makes her a very fancy heifer that is impossible not to notice. Her dam was purchased at the Source sale from South Seven Farms and has turned out to be a real standout. She is a very easy keeping, thick and deep cow with great feet and a nice udder, donor quality for sure and a real eye catcher on pasture. This bull has been a favourite of visitors to the farm.He is long sided and has lots of muscle expression.This bull weaned off his two year old Blueprint dam at 920 lbs.This bull also has an excellent set of feet and legs and lots of pigmentation.

This polled bull is a larger framed bull than my Outlook calf.Rocket is a very long sided structurally correct bull.This bull would work very well on lower set cows to add a little frame and possibly more pounds.Rocket weaned off his dam at 950 lbs.,on October 2nd. TERMS & CONDITIONS TERMS The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable at par at sale location. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves the right to require a certified cheque as settlement before releasing any sale cattle. Should any purchaser fail to settle for his purchase Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves full power to resell the animal to the best advantage either publicly or privately, without further notice. Any loss arising from such resale together with keep and all other expenses shall be payable by the defaulter. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released. BID Every animal consigned to the sale must be sold by auction. No private sales will be allowed except as otherwise provided for in the terms and conditions. No by-bidding will be permitted. Each animal will be sold to the highest bidder. SALES TAXES Applicable sales taxes will be charged on semen, embryos and trucking fees (if listed), respective to the home province of the buyer, not the seller. DISPUTES In cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such matters will be final. PURCHASER’S RISK Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time. INFORMATION SUPPLIED The information contained in this catalogue is believed to be true and accurate. However, the information has been supplied by the seller and neither Transcon Livestock Corp. or Keltey Whelan Designs assume any responsibility if the information supplied is not accurate. ANNOUNCEMENTS from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay attention to any such announcements. CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY A registration/ recordation certificate issued by the applicable breed association and duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer of each animal after settlement has been made. It is the responsibility of the buyer to determine the acceptance of this certificate in any other association.

SHIPPING Assistance will be given in making shipment after the sale but no risk is assumed by the Sales Management or Seller. Expenses incurred are the responsibility of the purchaser. Purchasers are requested to furnish shipping instructions when making settlement. BREEDER’S GUARANTEE As per applicable Canadian Breed Association Breeding Guarantee guidelines. Copies are available at the sale settlement desk to be picked up by the buyer at any time. In no event shall the seller be responsible for reimbursing more than the purchase price. EXCEPTION TO GUARANTEE In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void. HEALTH It is the buyer’s responsibility to determine health requirements for importing any animal into his province or state. Transcon Livestock Corp. assumes no responsibility for the health status of any animal in the sale. ACCIDENTS Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the Sales Management, auctioneer, consignors or Association assumes any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident or loss of property. RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale. TRANSCON LIVESTOCK CORP. IS AGENT ONLY It is to be clearly understood that Transcon Livestock Corp. is only acting as a medium between buyer and seller and is not in any way responsible for any failure on the part of either party to live up to his obligations, neither does Transcon Livestock Corp. assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce collection of any monies between parties, and any legal action that may, in exceptional cases, be taken, must be between buyer and seller. The Auctioneer shall have the right to refuse bids from anyone who has a previous record of default in payment or who has not made proper credit clearance prior to the sale with the owner or Sale Managers.
