Welcome to our first bull sale back at home. Northern Light is now working on the third generation selling bulls. We started way back at Great White North managed by Transcon (Rodney James) and also sold bulls at the Brandon Winter Fair. Then I remember selling at the Manitoba Simmental Association Bull Sale when I was a board member of the association, and finally at the Premium Beef Bull Sale when it was managed by Barry & Glenda Chescu. It was then taken over by Transcon Livestock and continues today. We had so much fun over the years with different consignors and working with different people, but there comes a time to just do our own thing. That time is now!

We are proud of our group of bulls this year. We think they are well presented and represent what we have been trying to produce over all these years. They will be highlighted by two of the best black bulls I believe we have every raised.

You are welcome to view the bulls anytime before the sale, and then sale day we will be going into Rossburn to have a video sale at the Town Hall located on Main Street. It’s not hard to find!

We invite you prior to sale time for lunch, and please stay after for some hospitality! Our female sale was such a success and was a pretty easy decision to do it again! It’s very exciting to initiate the Carson family’s  first stand alone bull sale! But as so many of you reading this know that these people have sold bulls for a long time, over three family generations and forty years, to be somewhat precise!

The Northern Light reputation for breeding performance driven, soft-sided cattle that look after themselves precedes itself. Much of this has been brought to the foundations of this cowherd through the selection process of herdsires introduced along the journey such as Rogar, Trustin, Rashad, Ladies Man and more. You will find these bulls as either the sires of the sale offering or throughout their pedigrees. Simply said, you can’t find people as nice to work with as this family. We know this very well from a first hand experience of marketing their bulls for many years through the Premium Beef Bull Sale in Neepawa and their annual fall bred heifer sale. We thank them for their continued loyalty, cooperation, mutual respect, and ability to get along with others. It’s been our pleasure!

On behalf of the Carson gang, we invite you to attend the sale, which will be held in the lovely Rossburn Hall as a live auction in a video format. The bulls are always available for viewing, including the sale day in their home wintering pens prior to the 2:00 CST sale time, a few miles from the auction site. TRANSCON’S ABSENTEE BUYER REPRESENTATION

The Transcon Team is available to anyone that cannot personally attend to confidentially appraise, bid and buy on your behalf. This service is conflictfree as we are not paid any buying incentive fees by the sellers and we are not active Simmental breeders. This service is also provided free of charge to all prospective buyers. Please call our cell phones for any assistance you may require.

DELIVERY

Option A Bring your trailer to the sale and take your purchase sale day.

Option B Free delivery on the bulls to central points in western Canada. We will do our best to get them right to your place. Distances further will be on a cost share basis. Bulls can be taken back to the sellers and boarded free of charge to May 1/23. After that a $5.00/day charge will apply. We request that all bulls returning to the farm be insured.

FOR U.S. BUYERS

Our sales are conducted in Canadian funds. The U.S. exchange rate will be available at the settlement desk. Upon successful purchase of an animal, the consignors will assist with the necessary documentation, health exams, brokerage and U.S. custom charges necessary to export your animal to the U.S. An additional fee of $300.00 U.S. per animal will be charged for this service, and is due at time of settlement. Transportation to a convenient location is included in this price.

SEMEN RIGHTS

Northern Light Simmentals retains the right to draw semen on all sale bulls for in-herd use at buyer’s convenience and the seller’s cost.

We used his sire on heifers for years and then moved him to the cowherd as we had so many good females out of him. 123K should be a good bull to try on heifers of first calvers. A red baldy bull out of an embryo we purchased from Sunrise Simmentals. He is very smooth made has a nice attractive front end, good haircoat and good depth. He should sire some very exceptional females in my mind.

Here is a bull that could be the sleeper of the whole sale. He just keeps getting better all the time. He has a very nice front has good thickness and balance and just grabs my eye the more times I look at him. Out of a nice moderate cow that is one of the quietest in our herd.

He is as dark red as we can make them, has a very nice front end, is smooth shouldered, strong topped with lots of middle and a good quarter. His dam is one of our best fullblood cows. TERMS The terms of the sale are cash, cheque, e-transfer, or wire and are due at the time of sale, unless other arrangements have been made between buyer and seller prior to the sale. Transcon reserves the right to charge interest at a rate of 2% per month on overdue accounts. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves the right to require a certified cheque as settlement before releasing any sale cattle. Should any purchaser fail to settle for their purchase Transcon Livestock Corp. reserves full power to resell the animal to the best advantage either publicly or privately, without further notice. Any loss arising from such resale together with keep and all other expenses shall be payable by the defaulter. All settlements must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released. Transcon Livestock Corp and/or the Auctioneer shall have the right to refuse bids from anyone who has a previous record of default in payment or who has not made proper credit clearance prior to the sale with the owner or Sale Managers.

BID No private sales will be allowed except as otherwise provided for in the terms and conditions. No by-bidding will be permitted.

SALES TAXES Applicable sales taxes will be charged on semen, embryos, and trucking fees (if listed), respective to the home province of the buyer, not the seller.

DISPUTES In cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer's decision in such matters will be final.

PURCHASER'S RISK Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser's risk for a reasonable length of time.

INSURANCE Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser at the time of sale and should be insured. Animals returning to the seller’s farm must be insured.

US BUYERS There is an additional charge (approximately $300.00 US dollars) that will be applied to each animal purchased. This covers documentation, vet inspections/testing required to export. This cost does not include transportation or brokerage which is the responsibility of the buyer.

CATTLE PICTURES AND INFORMATION PROVIDED The images in this catalogue are believed to be accurate representations of the individual animals and the information contained in this catalogue is provided by the seller and believed to be true and accurate. Transcon Livestock Corp. and catalogue designers/producers assume no responsibility if the images and/or information as received have been altered or is inaccurate.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY A registration/recordation certificate issued by the applicable breed association and duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer of each animal after settlement has been made. It is the responsibility of the buyer to determine the acceptance of this certificate in any other association.

SHIPPING Assistance will be given in making shipment after the sale but no risk is assumed by the Sales Management or Seller. Expenses incurred are the responsibility of the purchaser. Purchasers are requested to furnish shipping instructions when making settlement.

BREEDERS GUARANTEE As per applicable Canadian Breed Association Breeding Guarantee guidelines. Copies are available at the sale settlement desk to be picked up by the buyer at any time. In no event shall the seller be responsible for reimbursing more than the purchase price.

EXCEPTION TO GUARANTEE In cases where the animal is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproduction techniques after the sale, the guarantee shall be null and void.

HEALTH It is the buyer's responsibility to determine health requirements for importing any animal into his province or state. Transcon Livestock Corp. assumes no responsibility for the health status of any animal in the sale.

EMBRYO & SEMEN Full settlement must be made before release is done and shipping arrangements should be done within 30 days of the sale unless arrangements made between buyer and seller prior to the sale. Shipping arrangements and costs are the expense of the purchaser once release has been given.

ACCIDENTS Although every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the Sales Management, auctioneer, consignors, or Association assumes any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident or loss of property.

RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS The above terms and conditions of the sale shall constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller and be equally binding to both. Resale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction and the rights and obligations of the two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.
