Art Gallery

In this project I aim to redevelop a piece of land in the local community and transform it into an art gallery to provide a platform for local artists and a creative space for the neighborhood. The decision to create an art gallery stems from the fact that the local community lacked a creative space where artists could showcase their work therefore increasing the amount of graffiti in the community. The gallery would provide a space where the local community could view and appreciate art, attend exhibitions, and events and classes. an art gallery is not only a place for artists to showcase their work, but it is also a social spot where people can come together and celebrate their culture and history. The gallery would provide a platform for the community to share their stories and experiences through art, and this would create a sense of pride and ownership in the community.

The building will be a contemporary design three-story with an open-plan ground floor to accommodate various exhibitions and events, while the upper floors will be used for socialization and artist studios.

Specification:

The building will feature a number of large glass windows to provide natural light to the galleries.

The ground floor will have an open floor plan that will allow for flexible use of space for various exhibitions and events. The upper floor will have smaller rooms for artist studios and seating for visitors The interior of the building will have a minimalist design with neutral colors to highlight the artwork on display.
