The hotspots are mainly concentrated between the school and the public space area. The plants are less distributed, the children are densely populated, and there are certain safety hazards. However, there is much room for development in the region in the future.

Testing of Reservoir Corridor

Testing1:Safety Problem

Step 1: Introduce Broad Location

In order to solve this street safety problem, we first design a safety buffer to reduce the safety hazard, especially considering the collision between the vehicle and the person caused by the excessive speed. The flower bed is designed as a further safety guarantee based on the safety buffer.

Testing 2:Attractive Points

Step 2: Introduce Specific Location

Existing Lawn

On the basis of solving the security problem, increasing the attractive points. The circle in the figure represents an increased Section number of children’s play items. For example, bamboo is planted in a small circle, and children can play around bamboo. The red rectangle represents a two-story staircase with a height of only 150 mm and is suitable for younger children to climb.

Testing 3:Public Space

Legend Existing Lawn

Existing Paving

Increase the number of public seats while ensuring safety and increasing attractive points. Because when children are active, their parents will also take care of them nearby. Public seating can provide parents with a suitable space to relax.

Testing of Preston Corridor

Testing1:Safety Problem

Step 1: Introduce Broad Location

Because there is a large amount of on-street parking in the Preston area, the safety buffer is designed around the parking space and planting shrubs in the buffer.

Persepective of Reservoir Corridor

Since the street widths of the reservoir and Preston are inconsistent, the width of the design is appropriate. Reservoir gives children a small amount of activity, but the beauty that the eye can see is more abundant than Preston.

Persepective of Preston Corridor

Preston has a lot of room to work, so design a space where kids can play. The materials of the two event venues are consistent. There are some differences in vegetation design.
