BÉISBOL LATINO This exhibition catalogue documents the work in progress since 2015 at La Casita Cultural Center, a program of the College of Arts & Sciences at Syracuse University, in partnership with the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History. A central component of La Casita’s various Latino-related exhibits, collections, programming, education and cultural heritage research initiatives, this multi-year program explores the impact of the national pastime on Latino communities across Central New York and Puerto Rico through the history of baseball. LATINOS AND BASEBALL: IN THE BARRIOS AND THE BIG LEAGUES This Smithsonian led community collecting initiative focuses on the historic role that baseball has played as a social and cultural force within Latino communities across the nation, engaging partner organizations across the US as well as a number of Smithsonian outreach divisions.
