Although the harmful effects of adverse childhood experiences can be passed on from generation to generation, healing, strength and resilience can also be passed down. That is why I am excited about MHA-EM’s new PEACE (Preventing the Effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences) Initiative. PEACE will provide therapeutic services that strengthen parent-child relationships to give children the best shot at preventing mental health conditions in adulthood. I’m so proud of our deepened commitment to B4Stage4, a philosophy that encourages early intervention to prevent serious mental illness. We are thankful for the support we receive from the community for our Snow Ball Gala and throughout the year. – S UE KING, PRESIDENT AND CEO
