PSH Family Case Manager, Chavon Bell shares her client success story.
“It always feels great when our clients make progress towards their goals.” Hard work and dedication pays off. When I received Bianca Flood’s case, she informed me that she had recently started a new job in Temple Hills, MD and it was a struggle to get to and from Alexandria to Temple Hills, MD on public transportation and get to her children in a timely manner. She also mentioned the challenge of not getting to see her daughter that lives in Waldorf, MD enough. Ms. Flood asked me to look into the vehicles for change program, which I did. However, there was a long waiting list. I also looked into a few other programs, which also had long waiting lists. A few times, I probably stressed Jan (Dir. of Development) out asking if we received any car donations. Recently, she received word that her job was relocating to Hyattsville, MD. She asked for help with metro tokens until she could figure out how to get a car. In the past, Ms. Flood had been faced with many challenges. Ms. Flood unexpectedly arrived at the Admin office and asked me to come outside. To quote Ms. Flood, “See what happens when you get a little support!” She handed me the keys to her new car. She informed me that she saved her money for a down payment and was able to get affordable monthly payments and insurance. It always feels great when our clients make progress towards their goals. Great job Ms. Flood! Keep going!
Assistant Director, Khristina Koontz shares a Bailey’s Shelter success story.

We set a goal to house 40 clients by the 1st of the year. Although, we did not reach our goal because of the days off for the holiday, you did an amazing job and went above and beyond. WE HOUSED 28 GUESTS!!!!
