ART
from GNI MAG ISSUE 47
by GNI MAG
I’m Brian a UK based Artist with a huge passion for Wildlife!
Africa ignites my two biggest passions in life, photography and Wildlife. The incredible imagery that I have been so blessed to capture was the basis of my very first designs and continues to be the main focus in my artwork. I would like to think my art brings awareness to some of the worlds most magnificent creatures and their natural habitats.
I have been extremely lucky over the last 14 years managing to travel to over 112 countries. I always knew I wanted to do something with my art but was never sure which path I would settle on.
As all too often life got in the way and I didn’t sketch for 17 years. I was also too structured and a total perfectionist and this frustrated me. I was then inspired by a film I watched and began trying new freer styles and within a month my artwork was selling across the world.
I was lucky enough to be featured on Channel 4 TV recently for a daytime show because of the charity donations I give through the sales of my art. Currently my artwork donates to Terrence Higgins Trust, Scope, Martin House Children’s Hospice, Rob Burrow MND fund and Beardies in Need. While on the show I did a surprise commission piece for Oti Mabusi and since then have been very busy completing pet portraits in my personal and eye catching style.
I currently have a small merchandise range featuring certain pieces and will be looking at adding to this collection over the coming months.
I am currently working on a new collection called “Iconimals” with the first piece “Amy Rhinehouse” having just been released, this collection will feature music icons and my favourite animals fused together to treat something funky, fresh and as always full of colour.
For anyone wanting to keep up with donations these are available on the pinned post on my Facebook Page Migrating Art Company. You can also find me on Insta and Twitter too @migratingartco

PROUD TO BEE
This is a piece I created symbolising my home city of Manchester, the Bee is very symbolic to Manchester and being proud to be from this City I wanted to create a piece that really said proud so opted for the Pride flag, Manchester Pride being such a huge event for me. This piece is named Proud to Bee as also wanted people thinking what they were proud to be
PINK RABBIT
This piece is a fun take of one of children’s favourite animals, perfect for brightening up a Childs room. As with all my pieces they are completely hand drawn, nothing digital about my work however often mistaken, I use a selection of professional marker pens from start to finish and compliment with silver dotting.
THINK SPHYNX
This piece is one of many Sphynx Cat pieces that I have created, something about this breed just really captivates me, their eyes hold so much personality and they have a very ancient Egyptian feel about them.
AMY RHINEHOUSE
This piece is the first of a brand-new collection entitled Iconimals, Amy was such a legend for both her music and her fashion and could think of no one better to start this range off with.
REFLECTIVE CHIMP
This piece was actually created in lockdown and I wanted to explore the frustration animals in captivity feel at a time when the world was feeling the same firsthand. The style of the Chimp is completely different to my usual style, I was feeling quite frustrated that day being in the house so much and wanted to let my frustrations out on the paper. This is currently the only limited edition piece, just 38 prints were released to signify my age at the time of creation.
PUFFIN
The Puffins piece was created after a visit to the Farne Islands in Northumberland a beautiful haven for sealife and Birds. They are such funny little creatures that I wanted to make them as crazy as possible with the colourings to match their “out of the box” personality.
