Publican says “Thanks” Following three days in John Hunter Hospital and undergoing facial surgery, Snake Gully Hotel’s Brett McGovern is making a strong recovery. Mr McGovern was assaulted when two armed thieves entered his Elder Street Lambton business late one Friday night in mid-December. They left with a sum of money. Police believe they may be part of a gang responsible for a spate of hotel robberies in the Hunter. Brett spoke with Lambton & New Lambton Local recently and was upbeat about the incident, not wanting to focus on the robbery. Instead he was focussed on the busy Christmas new year period ahead for the business.

Brett McGovern, publican at Snake Gully Hotel, is making a strong recovery from his injuries “I’m on the mend. I’ll be left with a few scars maybe. But as they say, that will make me stronger”.

What Brett did want to speak about was the level of goodwill and support he and his family had received” (continued page 2)
