Ni bien empecé a caminar, yo ya estaba al lado de mi papá cuando él agarraba el bandoneón o cuando en mi casa se juntaban varios músicos a tocar. En los ‘40, todo era D’Arienzo. Todo eso se me grabó en la cabeza. D’Arienzo siempre estuvo conmigo. Y mi idea siempre fue tener una orquesta al estilo D’Arienzo”.

“Para tocar D’Arienzo hace falta una fuerza especial” esta identificación pura lo que le ayudaron a concretar aquel sueño y formar la orquesta que hoy ya cumplió 25 años ininterrumpidos de actuaciones, giras y grabaciones, siempre fieles al estilo de Juan D’Arienzo. El próximo 24 de noviembre lo celebrarán en el Salón El Portugués del barrio de Caballito, ubicado en Pedro Goyena 1468, con un gran recital donde bailarán Hernán y Carina. En la actualidad, integran esta popular orquesta: en bandoneones Aníbal Cauda (está desde los inicios), Esteban Tomé, Roberto Spagnuolo y Víctor Solari; en violines: Enrique Postma, Mariano Schuff y Aníbal Benítez;

en piano Aran Pizzini; el cantor Roberto Santi; y en contrabajo y dirección musical: Ricardo Sánchez Rivera, un músico con amplia trayectoria musical y que así nos recordó cómo fueron los comienzos… ¿Cómo fue el hecho de lograr armar la orquesta? Fue en 1992 en realidad, después de haber integrado yo varios grupos, llegó la oportunidad mientras estaba trabajando en una casa de San Telmo. A mí se me ocurrió el nombre, me dije vamos a ponerle Los Reyes del Tango. ¡Nacimos para una casa de tango y seguimos hasta hoy!... ¿Quiénes estaban en esa época? Lo invité a Felipe Richiardi, que estaba retirado y había estado tocando 25 años con D’Arienzo como bandoneón. Recuerdo que en una oportunidad, tocaron en la televisión y se le rompió la correa del bandoneón de la mano izquierda, y eso a D’Arienzo le gustó, lo tomó y lo repitió siempre. También llamé a Alberto Pando, que fue violinista de D’Arienzo. Aníbal Cauda, que está hasta el día de hoy. También estuvieron Danesi, Rafael Oribe, que ya falleció… Muchos se fueron de gira. Debutamos en el Torquato Tasso y en La Viruta, donde había mucha juventud. Empezamos a tocar y los chicos se vinieron hacia nosotros y se sentaron en el piso a escucharnos. Nosotros hacemos el estilo del ’40 de D’Arienzo, cuando estaba Fulvio Salamanca, dicho esto sin sacar mérito al que vino después. Y luego llegaron las giras... La primera gira fue al Festival de Bologna, en Italia; luego estuvimos en Colombia, Brasil, España, Suiza, Portugal, Ecuador... En marzo próximo iremos por tercera vez a Turquía. El viaje anterior, tocamos conjuntamente con la orquesta Color Tango, en una milonga organizada en la playa. Fue algo impresionante. Había un escenario para cada orquesta, tocábamos alternadamente un tango y al final, tocamos juntos La Cumparsita. Me dijeron que había unas 20 mil personas. ¿Cómo lo recuerda hoy a D’Arienzo? ¡No me lo voy olvidar jamás en mi vida!... Me llamó Carlos Lázzari para actuar de reemplazo de Enrique Guerra, en los carnavales del Club Comunicaciones. Sería por el año ’72 o ’73. Me hace ensayar primero y cuando voy, yo estaba preparando mi contrabajo y pasa el Maestro con las manos atrás en la espalda, me mira y le pregunta a Lázzari: “¿Quién es ese plomo?”. Él les decía así a todos. Y Lázzari le explica. Me mira, me sonríe y sigue caminando. Para mí, eso fue imborrable, imborrable… Más adelante, fui con Carlos Lázzari de gira

Pizzini; the singer Roberto Santi; and on double bass and general musical director: Ricardo Sánchez Rivera, a musician with a wide-ranging musical career and who recalled for us how it all began… How did you succeed in putting together the orchestra? It was in 1992 really, after I had been a member or various different groups, the opportunity came when I was working in a tango house in San Telmo. The name occurred to me, I said to myself let’s give it the name of Los Reyes del Tango. We were born for a tango house and we’ve carried on until today...! Who were in it at that time? I invited Felipe Richiardi, who was retired and had been playing bandoneón for 25 years with D’Arienzo. I remember it was an opportunity, they played on the TV and the left hand strap of his bandoneon broke, and D’Arienzo like that, he took it and always repeated it. I also asked Alberto Pando, who had been a violinist with D’Arienzo. Aníbal Cauda, who is with us still to this day. There was also Danesi, Rafael Oribe who is now dead… Many have gone on the celestial tour. We made our debut in Torquato Tasso and La Viruta, where there were lots of youngsters. We started playing and the kids would come up to us and they sat on the floor to listen to us. We do the ’40s style of D’Arienzo, when Fulvio Salamanca was there, that said without detracting in any way from his successor. And then came the tours... The first tour was to the Bologna Festival, in Italy; later we went to Colombia, Brazil, Spain, Switzerland, Portugal, Ecuador... Next March we’ll be going to Turkey for the third time. On the previous tour, we played jointly with the Color Tango orchestra, at a milonga organized on the beach. It was impressive. There was a stage for each orchestra, we were playing alternately a tango each and at the end we played La Cumparsita together. I was told there were some 20,000 people, imagine it Silvia…! How do remember D’Arienzo today? I’ll never forget him in all my life!... Carlos Lázzari called on me to play replacing Enrique Guerra, at the carnivals of the Club Comunicaciones. It was back in ’72 or ’73. He made me rehearse first and when I went along, I was there preparing my bass and the Maestro passes with his hands behind him, he looks at me and asks Lázzari: “Who’s this dumbo?” He was like that to everyone. And Lázzari explained. So he looks at me, gives me a smile and walks on. For me, that was unforgettable,

El bandoneonista Rafael Oribe, amigo y padrino de mi hijo, trabajaba en la Editorial de Julio Korn, y conseguía ahí. O Richiardi, también tenía muchas partituras. Tengo en repertorio alrededor de 60 o 70 temas.

unforgettable… Later on, I went with Carlos Lázzari to Japan on tour, because Juan wasn’t there, he didn’t like traveling in planes. How did you manage to get the parts with the original arrangements? I went round salvaging them from the lads who had been with D’Arienzo. The bandoneonist Rafael Oribe, a friend and godfather to my son, he worked at Editorial Julio Korn and got hold of some there. Or Richiardi, he also had lots of scores. I have around 60 or 70 numbers in the repertoire.

¿Qué es lo más importante para tocar “tangueramente” el contrabajo? En el contrabajo se necesita ser fuerte por el ritmo de este estilo. Si me permitís, te comento que antes fui músico de jazz, toqué en la orquesta de Raúl Parentella, que es de Bragado como yo. En mí, hay una fuerza especial por haber tocado jazz. El estilo D’Arienzo empieza con todo y termina con todo. Bajando del escenario, nos dura todavía un largo rato todo ese fervor…

What’s the most important thing for playing the double bass for tango? On the double bass it needs to be strong for the rhythm of this style. If you will permit me, I’ll tell you that previously I was a jazz musician, I played in the orchestra of Raúl Parentella, who is from Bragado like me. There’s a special force in me through having played in jazz. The D’Arienzo style starts off full blast and ends full blast. Coming off stage, that fervor stays with us for a long while afterwards…

¿Pensó que iba a durar tantos años su orquesta? No es poco mérito tantos años de perdurabilidad, sin interrupciones, soportando los vaivenes económicos del país. No es fácil… Hubo épocas embromadas en lo económico, pero lo superamos. Pero mientras esté María Peralta, nuestra representante, trabajando, y yo, tocando, pensamos que iba a seguir por mucho tiempo. Ella es muy trabajadora, le debemos mucho a su capacidad.

Did you think your orchestra would last for so many years? It’s no mean feat lasting so long, without interruptions, putting up with the country’s economic ups and downs. It’s not easy… There were complicated times in the economic aspect, but we overcame them. But while María Peralta, our representative, has been working, and me playing, we think it’s going to carry on for a good while. She’s a very hard worker, we owe a lot to her ability.

¿No hay milonga sin la música de D’Arienzo, verdad? Yo respeto todos los estilos, pero el Estilo Pugliese no va morir nunca. Y el estilo D’Arienzo tampoco. Aparte, reconozco también lo grande que ha sido el señor Astor Piazzolla. Ha sido un gran músico y gran compositor.

There isn’t a milonga without the music of D’Arienzo, that’s true isn’t it? I respect all the styles, but the Pugliese Style is never going to die. And the D’Arienzo style won’t either. Apart from that, I also recognize how great the maestro Astor Piazzolla has been. He was a great musician and a great composer.

Hoy hay varias orquestas que cultivan el estilo D’Arienzo, pero ustedes han sido los pioneros y referentes… Sí, por suerte, pero aparte de haber tenido músicos que tocaron directamente con el Maestro D’Arienzo, uno mismo se ha ido perfeccionando para hacer una orquesta con ese estilo. Yo lo seguía siempre, y hasta que él no se iba, yo no me iba. Así es cuando uno tiene devoción hacia alguien.

Today there are various orchestras that cultivate the D’Arienzo style, but yours has been the pioneer and a reference… Yes, fortunately, but apart from having had musicians who played directly with the Maestro D’Arienzo, I myself have been perfecting myself to make the orchestra with that style. I’ve always followed him, and all the while he didn’t go, I wouldn’t go. That’s how it is when one is devoted to someone.

Gabriel Soria, presidente de la Academia Nacional del Tango de la República Argentina, ha recibido el Premio otorgado por el Ministerio de Asuntos Extranjeros de Japón. La ceremonia de entrega se realizó en la Residencia del Embajador del Japón en nuestro país, el pasado 20 de octubre de 2018, en el marco de las celebraciones del 120 Aniversario del establecimiento de relaciones diplomáticas entre ambas naciones. Soria fue felicitado por el embajador de Japón en nuestro país, Noriteru Fukushima, por su incansable labor en la preservación, investigación y promoción de la cultura argentina en todo el mundo, muy especialmente en Japón, China y otros países del lejano Oriente.

In China the Carlos Gardel School is Opened

Gabriel Soria, president of the Argentine Republic’s National Tango Academy, has received the Prize awarded by Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The presentation ceremony was held at the Residence of the Japanese Ambassador in our country on 20th October 2018, as part of the celebrations for the 120th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two nations. Soria was congratulated by the Japanese ambassador in out country, Noriteru Fukushima, for his “tireless work researching, preserving, and promoting the Argentine culture throughout the world, more especially in Japan,” China and other countries of the Far East.

China: Se inauguró la Escuela Carlos Gardel

En la tarde del 28 de septiembre, el Embajador argentino en China, Diego Guelar, inauguró la “Escuela de Tango Carlos Gardel” de Shanghái. El evento contó con la asistencia de diplomáticos, académicos, periodistas y artistas, entre otros invitados con fuertes vínculos con la Argentina y el tango. La nueva institución, impulsada por la Embajada Argentina y el Consulado General en Shanghái, estará a cargo del prestigioso bailarín argentino Francisco Forquera, quien es un profesor de larga trayectoria que compartirá la responsabilidad de enseñar el tango con instructores chinos. “El tango nació en la Argentina pero ya es una música universal”, sostuvo Guelar en la ceremonia, y agregó: “En algunos años seguramente habrá un tango chino, que será parecido a nuestro tango, pero con características propias. La red de escuelas Carlos Gardel, que crece aceleradamente en todo el territorio de este gran país, es una contribución en este proceso de diálogo intercultural”.

On the afternoon of 28th September, the Argentine Ambassador in China, Diego Guelar, officially opened the “Carlos Gardel Tango School” in Shanghai. The event was attended by diplomats, journalists and performing artists, among other guests with strong links with Argentina and tango. The new institution, driven by the Argentine Embassy and the General Consulate in Shanghai, will be in the hands of the prestigious Argentine dancer Francisco Forquera, who is a teacher of long standing who will share the responsibility of teaching tango with Chinese instructors. “Tango was born in Argentina but it is now a universal music,” maintained Guelar at the ceremony, and added: “In years to come there will certainly by a Chinese tango, which will be similar to our tango, but with its own characteristics. The network of Carlos Gardel schools, which is growing fast throughout the territory of this great country, is a contribution in this process of intercultural dialogue.”

En El Callejón “Todos hablamos de Amor” We all speak of Love at El Callejón ¿Cuántas maneras de amar hay? Muchísimas. El amor es un sentimiento muy fuerte que rige nuestras vidas. Acapara sentimientos y emociones tan dispares como simbióticas, y no siempre incluye el sexo. Sin prejuicios, ni con catálogo, las diferentes formas del amor son el punto de partida esencial de esta nueva obra de la talentosa Cecilia Troncoso, bailarina, coreógrafa, docente y organizadora de La Viruta Tango Club, junto a Horacio Godoy. En esta oportunidad, su propuesta es “Todos hablamos de amor”, obra que luego de varios meses de ensayos y tras la presentación previa de un fragmento en el pasado Festival de Tango de la Ciudad y en el Festival de Danza Contemporánea, ahora llega la obra en forma completa. “Todos sufrimos por amor, demandamos amor, dependemos del amor. Este es el tema. La obra presenta diferentes escenas que tienen que ver con el encuentro de una pareja y todas las vicisitudes que suceden en torno al amor”, explica Troncoso. El elenco de bailarines lo conforman Leonardo Pankow, Cecilia Vicencio, Marcela Conti, Romina Cafaratti, Rodrigo Calvete y Federico Luna, todos ellos con formación en tango y en danza contemporánea. La música incluye tangos clásicos, tango electrónico y música moderna; y Silvia Gómez Giusto es la directora de teatro. Se estrenará el próximo 7 de diciembre y las funciones serán todos los viernes de diciembre, a las 20 horas, en el Espacio Callejón (Humahuaca 3759). Cecilia, quien pertenece a la plataforma Platea, explora con el tango y el contemporáneo, una renovada exposición escénica. “El tango es un lenguaje riquísimo, hermoso, y cuando dos personas se abrazan y se dejan llevar, ya está la historia de amor. Lo importante es que al espectador le pase algo, se enganche y se lleve algo para sí”

How many ways of loving are there? Very many. Love is a very strong feeling that rules our lives. It controls feelings and emotions both disparate and symbiotic, and it does not always include sex. Without prejudices, or a catalogue, the different forms of love are the essential point of departure for this new work by the talented Cecilia Troncoso, dancer, choreographer, teacher and organizer of La Viruta Tango Club, along with Horacio Godoy. On this occasion, her proposal is “We all speak of love”, a work that after various months of rehearsals and after previously having performed a fragment at the last Buenos Aires City Tango Festival and at the Contemporary Dance Festival, the work now comes in complete form. “We all suffer for love, we demand love, we depend on love. This is the subject matter. The work presents different scenes that have to do with a couple’s meeting and all the vicissitudes that happen around their love,” explains Troncoso. The cast of dancers is made up of: Leonardo Pankow, Cecilia Vicencio, Marcela Conti, Romina Cafaratti, Rodrigo Calvete and Federico Luna, all of them trained in tango and contemporary dance. The music includes classic tangos, electronic tango and modern music; and Silvia Gómez Giusto is the theater director. The first performance will be on 7th December and thereafter every Friday of December, at 8p.m in the Espacio Callejón (Humahuaca 3759). Cecilia, who belongs to the tango platform Platea, explores with tango and contemporary dance a renewed stage show. “Tango is a very rich beautiful language, and when two people embrace and allow themselves to be carried along, then the love story is there. What’s important is that something happens to the spectator, they get hooked up and take away something inside themselves.”

El 4 de octubre último, aconteció una de esas noches cuando Diego Mario Rivarola celebró los 20 años de “El tango en el mundo”, su ciclo radial que conduce todos los domingos, de 20 a 22 horas, en La2x4 FM 92.7, informando todo lo que sucede con la música ciudadana en el exterior. Acompañado por el equipo de producción del programa -Augusto Zino y Florencia Fidanza-, su “mano derecha” y esposa, Gladys Moyano, y la conducción de la locutora María De Los Ángeles Lorenzo, Rivarola reunió a queridos artistas que quisieron estar presentes, felicitarlo y compartir este especial momento. “El afecto de los artistas, de amigos y del público que asistió esa noche me reafirma que fuimos -y vamos- por el camino correcto. Un programa por el que nadie daba dos mangos cuando comenzó, ya ha transitado veinte años en el aire con la simple idea de hacer conocer lo que sucede con nuestro tango más allá de nuestras fronteras. ¡Gracias, infinitas gracias a todos los artistas que cantaron esta noche!”,

There are nights that go down in history and are kept forever in the heart. On 4th October last, one of those nights happened when Diego Mario Rivarola celebrated 20 years of “El tango en el mundo”, his radio series which he presents every Sunday from 8 to 10pm on the tango station La2x4 92.7FM, telling everything that’s going on with tango abroad. Accompanied by the program’s production team – Augusto Zino and Florencia Fidanza – his “right hand” and wife Gladys Moyano, and presented by María De Los Ángeles Lorenzo, Rivarola brought together much-loved performing artists who wished to be present, to congratulate him and share this special moment. “The affection of performers, friends and the public who attended that night confirms to me that we have been – and are – going the right way. Eduardo Walczak y Pablo Agri en un documental entrañable Eduardo Walczak and Pablo Agri in a touching documentary Con emociones mezcladas, pero por encima de todo con suma admiración por la ejemplar actitud frente a la vida que esgrime Eduardo Walczak, de 89 años, se estrenó el documental que lo tiene como protagonista principal junto al querido Pablo Agri: “Eduardo Walczak Pablo Agri, violinistas”, filme realizado bajo la dirección de Daniel Tonelli y Marcelo Turrisi, y auspiciado por The Argentine Tango Society, entidad dedicada a promover nuestro querido tango argentino. La avant premier fue el pasado 15 de octubre en el Marabú (Maipú 365), donde ambos artistas acompañados por familiares, amigos y colegas recibieron un merecido homenaje. En primer lugar se ofreció el documental que retrata su pasión por el violín y por el tango. Luego, hablaron ambos artistas, quienes expresaron su alegría y agradecimiento. Antes de que comience el documental, Daniel Tonelli señaló que “a pesar de la distancia generacional y de las diferentes personalidades, hay algo que une fuertemente a Eduardo Walczak y a Pablo Agri: el profundo amor y la gran pasión que ambos sienten por el violín”. En tanto, Turrisi aseguró que “para nosotros es una alegría y un orgullo tener la posibilidad de trabajar contando la historia de los protagonistas de nuestra cultura. Este es el documental número diez y creo que vale el doble”, dijo a su vez Turrisi. Por su parte, el presidente de la Academia Nacional del Tango, Gabriel Soria afirmó: “Es interesante pensar qué grande que es el tango. Eduardo y Pablo son dos generaciones diferentes, pero los une una partitura, un instrumento, la historia de sus padres violinistas… Es una noche para distinguir a estas dos grandes personalidades que, ya tienen la misma edad, y es la edad de las ganas de hacer”. Descendiente de polacos y perteneciente a una familia de músicos, a los 15 años Walczak ya era el primer violín en una orquesta de barrio. Más tarde, integraría las orquestas de Alfredo Gobbi, Pedro Láurenz, Osvaldo Tarantino y Atilio Stampone, además de formar parte de la Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional durante más de dos décadas. Hijo de Antonio Agri, todo un emblema del violín en nuestra música ciudadana, desde muy pequeño Pablo eligió seguir el camino de su padre, perfeccionando su técnica a través de una sólida formación que lo llevó a integrar la Sinfónica Nacional. Pablo lleva el tango en la sangre y tuvo el honor de compartir escenarios con los maestros Osvaldo Berlingieri, Néstor Marconi, Leopoldo Federico y Mariano Mores, entre otros. El documental, de tan solo 30 minutos, no solo es una síntesis de sus trayectorias sino que además evoca el aporte valioso de grandes violinistas de la música ciudadana, entre ellos, Hugo Baralis, y el propio Antonio Agri, papá de Pablo. De ascendencia polaca, Walczak recordó a sus padres, sus maestros y por supuesto a “los tres pilares del Sexteto - José Pepe Libertella, Luis Stazo y Mario Abramovich”. Y subrayó que: “¡en casi 40 años de actividad, yo nunca falté! Así que me tienen que dar una cosa...”. También Walczak recordó que “toqué con la orquesta del padre del jefe de este lugar, Víctor Di Capua”; saludó a quien esto escribe, de la revista La Milonga, “que es gratis para todo el pueblo”; y a la señora de José Pepe Colángelo, la cantante Gabriela Rey. Por su parte, Agri afirmó que “es un mimo al corazón estar al lado de este monstruo”. Y curiosamente, al momento de expresar “creo que nuestras vidas…”, sin terminar la frase, Walczak lo interrumpió para completar: “¡...Siguen adelante!”, ante el aplauso general. Tras lo cual, Agri afirmó:

With mixed emotions, but above all with extreme admiration for the exemplary attitude to life employed by Eduardo Walczak, aged 89, the documentary featuring him along with the much-loved Pablo Agri was premièred: “Eduardo Walczak Pablo Agri, violinistas”. The film was directed by Daniel Tonelli and Marcelo Turrisi, and sponsored by the Argentine Tango Society, dedicated to promoting our beloved Argentine tango. The preview was on 15th October last at the Marabú (Maipú 365), where both performers accompanied by family, friends and colleagues received a well-deserved homage. First the documentary portraying their passion for the violin and for tango was shown. Then both performers spoke, expressing their happiness and gratitude. Before the documentary started, Daniel Tonelli indicated that “despite the generational distance and their different personalities, there is something that strongly unites Eduardo Walczak and Pablo Agri: the deep love and great passion they both feel for the violin.” Then, Turrisi assured them that “it makes us very proud and happy to have the possibility of working telling the story of those who play a leading role in our culture. This is the tenth documentary and I believe it’s worth twice as much.” For his part, Gabriel Soria, president of the National Tango Academy, stated: “It is interesting to think how great tango is. Eduardo and Pablo are from two different generations, but they are united by a score, an instrument, the history of their fathers who were violinists… It is a night to honor these two great personalities who are already the same age, and it’s the age of wanting to be doing.” Of Polish descent and belonging to a family of musicians, at the age of 15 Walczak was already the first violin in a neighborhood orchestra. Later he would join the orchestras of Alfredo Gobbi, Pedro Láurenz, Osvaldo Tarantino and Atilio Stampone, as well as being a member of the National Symphony Orchestra for over two decades. Son of Antonio Agri, himself an emblematic violinist in our city’s music, from a very young age Pablo chose to follow his father’s path in life, perfecting his technique through a solid training that took him to being in the National Symphony Orchestra. But Pablo has tango in his blood and has had the honor of sharing stages with maestros like Osvaldo Berlingieri, Néstor Marconi, Leopoldo Federico and Mariano Mores, amongst others. This documentary, just 30 minutes long, is not only a summary of their trajectories but it also evokes the valuable contribution of other great tango violinists, amongst them Hugo Baralis and Antonio Agri himself, Pablo’s father. With his Polish descent, Walczak recalled his parents, his teachers and of course “the three pillars of the Sexteto Mayor - José Pepe Libertella, Luis Stazo and Mario Abramovich.” And he emphasized that: “in nearly 40 years performing, I never missed a gig! So they have to give me something…” Walczak also recalled how he “played with the orchestra of Víctor Di Capua who was the father of the chief of this place;” he greeted yours truly, of this magazine La Milonga Argentina, “which is free for all its people”; and also greeted José Pepe Colángelo, and the singer Gabriela Rey. For his part, Agri said “it does your heart good to be at the side of this monster.” And, curiously, at the very moment of saying “I think our lives…” without ending the phrase, Walczak interrupted him to finish it himself: “...Carry on forward!” to general applause. “Cachirulo” estrenó nueva pista “fórmula I”

Cachirulo festejó junto con sus fieles seguidores la inauguración de su milonga en el Salón Canning abriendo una nueva etapa en su trayectoria como organizador de milongas.

Zotto bailará en el Vaticano para Navidad Una gran noticia para nuestro tango: Después de casi un siglo, el tango volverá a deleitar en El Vaticano: Será a través de los talentosos Miguel Ángel Zotto y Daiana Guspero, quienes bailarán en una Gala especial para la próxima Navidad, evento que será transmitido por el Canal 5, de Italia, a todo el mundo. “Desde el año 1923, cuando bailó Casimiro Aín, que el tango no se lucía en El Vaticano. Es un honor y un hermosa distinción que nos hayan convocado a Dai y a mí”, nos dijo en una comunicación telefónica el querido maestro y coreógrafo desde Milano. Se sabe, el Papa Francisco es un gran admirador del 2X4 y que en este concierto de Navidad se incluya la música que tanto ama será un especial reconocimiento al arte ciudadano que lo acompañó desde su cuna. El concierto de Navidad se realizará en el Salón Pablo VI, el mismo donde el Papa realiza las Audiencias Generales, y habrá música navideña y de todos los géneros, con importantes artistas invitados, entre ellos nuestros queridos bailarines.

Lo que el tango te dá “…hacer de la caída un paso de danza” F. Pessoa La milonga es un lugar donde concurre una diversidad de personas, cada una con su estilo, su nacionalidad, su barrio, su forma de vincularse con el otro, y por sobre todas las cosas en ella vas a encontrarte con “el abrazo”. En la pista se puede constatar fácilmente el predominio de la imagen sobre la palabra, gran parte de los mensajes llegan mediante la escena ficcional que se monta para ser vista y llamar así a la mirada de los otros. El predominio de lo imaginario en nuestra época, que ya había sido vaticinado por Lacan, se repite fielmente cada vez, en cada baile, en cada lugar donde se danza el tango. Y a veces ahí, como un pavo real, se muestra “el abrazo”. Rodeado de música, de letras, de perfumes, de variaciones en los pasos y adornos, de silencios y de palabras. Repetidas veces escuchas frases como “tiene un lindo abrazo” “Me enamoré de él por su abrazo, o contrariamente “te asfixia cuando abraza” “ella pone mucha distancia en el abrazo”, pareciera que éste definiera un rasgo de la persona, pareciera que esconde una verdad que se devela en la pista. ¿Qué hay en él? Inevitablemente me encontré, muchas veces mirando a los bailarines, tratando de hallar el develamiento a tal enigma. Winicott, renombrado psicoanalista de niños, hace referencia al holding que es la manera en que la madre tiene de llevar y sostener abrazando, física y psicológicamente a su bebé asegurándole así una protección contra las angustias de aniquilación del self, dirá él. Primera forma de erotismo que resguarda, frente al desamparo original angustiante producto de la prematurez biológica en la que nacemos los seres humanos. Alivianante abrazo que acuna acompañando a las palabras. Este primer tiempo del Complejo de Edipo basado en la relación madre- hijo atravesará otras vicisitudes según la singular historia de cada sujeto, donde la figura paterna también jugará su juego: separará, protegerá, salvará, será también destinatario del erotismo y determinará las elecciones amorosas futuras. Ya en la adolescencia se buscará por fuera del vínculo familiar y se podrá sustituir el amor parental por un partenaire exogámico. Lo que importante a tener en uenta es, que en esta primera protección materna es donde radica una marca primordial, allí el abrazo cifra un lugar de sostén y erotismo que se reedita en el tango- danza. El tango te espera, dijo Aníbal Troilo. Y una de las vicisitudes de la vida que llevan a acercarte a él es el duelo ya sea, por la pérdida de un ser querido, por una separación, por un desamor, por la soledad, por el efecto de los años en el cuerpo, en definitiva cuando la angustia se presentifica. Volver la libido, que anteriormente estaba dirigida a aquello que se perdió, sobre el yo para luego poder ser capaz de desear a otras personas o intereses, de lograr esa sustitución se trata el trabajo del duelo, dice Freud. Es entonces durante este trabajo psíquico, cuando esta particular danza puede venir a nuestra ayuda para brindarnos generosos abrazos que se ofrecen

También es importante aclarar que para el tratamiento de los síntomas psíquicos es necesario un dispositivo: un lugar específico, un horario, la escucha discrecional del psicoanalista, es decir, ciertas condiciones específicas que exceden lo que el tango puede brindar en términos terapéuticos. El repertorio seleccionado incluye: Vida mía, Martirio y Todos tus sueños, entre otros. Cabe señalar que Nora se viene presentando en el mítico Café Tortoni (Av. NORA BILOUS El viernes 29 de noviembre próximo, a las 21 horas, en Circe (Av. Córdoba 4335), llega desde Montevideo el trío de tango “Malajunta”, iintegrado por Adriana Filgueiras (voz), Jorge Alastra (guitarra, composición y arreglos), y Juan Rodríguez (violonchelo, acordeón y arreglos). Malajunta escurre las sombras del tango convencional y viaja a su repertorio lejano y contemporáneo. Desanda la canción urbana y rioplatense. Un recital que adelanta parte de su tercer CD “Tango Infinito” (y tema de Salvador Puig UY).

MALAJUNTA Patricia Malanca presentará “Tangueando a Silvio Rodríguez” el próximo domingo 11 de noviembre, a las 19 horas, en La Usina del Arte (Caffarena 1, La Boca). La acompañará el quinteto dirigido por Rafael Varela e integrado por Alejandro Montaldo en bandoneón, Marcela Pedretti en piano, Hugo Acuña en contrabajo y Julián Bartolomei en violín, y estará como artista invitada Adriana Varela. “Tangueando a Silvio Rodríguez” es una propuesta musical que fusiona diferentes estilos y rítmicas del tango con las canciones del célebre cantautor cubano. Anteriormente, Patricia fue nominada a los Premios Grammys Latinos 2017 por su disco “Bucles, 4 historias de amor y 11 tangos desesperados”, como mejor álbum de tango, que con un estilo criollo reúne piezas de su propia autoría y de autores contemporáneos de tango.

Los sábados 3, 10, 17 y 24 de noviembre, en Teatro El Popular, el Cuarteto Cedrón presentará en vivo un nuevo disco, integrado enteramente por nuevas canciones, basadas todas en textos del poeta, periodista, narrador, dramaturgo y guionista Héctor Pedro Blomberg, célebre autor de La pulpera de Santa Lucía, apenas lo más recordado de su vasta obra, reconocida influencia fundante para González Tuñón. De las diez canciones del disco, siete llevan música de Juan Tata Cedrón y las restantes de Josefina García, Daniel Frascoli y Miguel López, respectivamente.

La Compañía Tempotango presenta este sábado 3, a las 21 horas, en Salón Canning (Scalabrini Ortiz 1331), la última función de “Corto y Pego”, una obra con la peculiar impronta de su director Ignacio González Cano, y que cuenta junto al talentoso grupo de bailarines con la participación especial de Dady Brieva, el cantante Limón García y el guitarrista Juan Otero.

As both singer and composer, Nora Bilous has just released her fourth CD “Cómo no decir lo que es verdad”. Four of the numbers stand out with words by her, along with some classic tangos and also numbers by contemporary writers and composers, with musical arrangements by Matías Feigin. The selected repertoire includes: “Vida mía”, “Martirio” and “Todos tus sueños”, amongst others. It is worth pointing out that Nora is currently performing every Sunday in Café Tortoni (Av. De Mayo) at 8p.m. This coming Friday 29th November at 9p.m at Circe (Av. Es, si se quiere, un disco maduro en el que expreso la conexión con mi instrumento y las posibilidades musicales que he disfrutado explorando durante más de tres décadas como músico profesional.” Así define Pablo Aslan a su nuevo trabajo discográfico “Contrabajo. Works for bass and string quartet”. En esta placa, el bajista, compositor, arreglador y productor repasa su carrera junto a importantes músicos y revisando la amplia gama de sus géneros y estilos favoritos. Al retratar su instrumento, Aslan no sólo reflexiona sobre el sonido y las posibilidades del contrabajo, sino que también explora sus roles como fundamento, voz principal y fuerza rítmica; y, al hacerlo, vuelve a examinar su propio rol. El disco, producido por Gabriel Senanes, tiene como invitados a Raúl Jaurena, el Cuarteto Petrus y a Paquito D´Rivera. Pablo Aslan participará del Festival Internacional BA Jazz con su trío Avantango, celebrando los 20 años de su disco Y en el 2000 también.

“This album represents the culmination of my journey as a bass player and recording artist. It is, if you like, a mature CD in which I express the connection with my instrument and the musical possibilities I have enjoyed exploring throughout more than three decades as a professional musician.” That is how Pablo Aslan defines his new recording “Contrabajo - Works for bass and string quartet”. On this CD, the bassist, composer, arranger and producer goes back over his career along with important musicians and reviews the wide range of his favorite genres and styles. Portraying his instrument, Aslan not only reflects the sound and the possibilities of the double bass, but he also explores its roles as foundation, principal voice and rhythmic force; and in doing that, he returns to examine his own role. The CD, produced by Gabriel Senanes, has as guest performers Raúl Jaurena, the Cuarteto Petrus and Paquito D’Rivera. Pablo Aslan will be taking part in the BA International Jazz Festival with his trio Avantango, celebrating 20 years of their CD “Y en el 2000 también”.

Granada y el Tango, unidos por Onda Cero Radio Radio Onda Cero together with La Milonga Argentina Los periodistas de España, Manuel Ángel Prado - Director Provincial de Onda Cero Granada-, y Javier Fernández Martínez, redactor y locutor de dicha emisora, estuvieron de visita en Buenos Aires con motivo del programa “Embajadores de Granada”. Durante su estadía en nuestra Capital realizaron entrevistas a diferentes personalidades de Argentina y recorrieron sitios de interés turístico de Buenos Aires. Una de las charlas fue con la editora-fundadora de La Milonga Argentina, Silvia Rojas, para comentar su experiencia en Granada cuando se llevó a cabo hace dos años el 28° Festival Internacional de Tango de Granada creado y dirigido por Horacio Rébora; como así también del panorama tanguero de la actualidad. “Conocer Granada es conocer belleza, magia, historia. Dan ganas de volver siempre”, sostuvo Rojas en el encuentro. Junto a Prado y Fernández estuvo trabajando en la parte operativa, Antonio Sánchez Arostegui. Fue sin dudas, un equipo formidable de Onda Cero que llegó al Río de la Plata y constituyó un puente comunicacional entre granadinos y argentinos.

The journalists from Spain, Manuel Ángel Prado, Provincial Director of Onda Cero Granada, and Javier Fernández Martínez, columnist and presenter on the radio station, were on a visit to Buenos Aires for their radio program “Embajadores de Granada”. During their stay in our Capital they interviewed different personalities of Argentina and they visited various sights of tourist interest in Buenos Aires. One of their conversations was with the editor and founder of La Milonga Argentina, Silvia Rojas, to comment on her experience in Granada two years ago when the 28th International Granada Tango Festival, created and directed by Horacio Rébora, was held; and also the current tango panorama. “Getting to know Granada is getting to know beauty, magic, history. It always makes you want to return there,” maintained Rojas at the meeting. Antonio Sánchez Arostegui was with Prado and Fernández, on the operational side. It was, without a doubt, a formidable team from Onda Cero that arrived at the Río de la Plata and it constituted a communicational bridge between the people of Granada and Argentina.

En “11 Corazones”, la milonga de los sábados en Sáenz Peña, es atendida por los socios del club, orgullo de los vecinos. Allí suelen milonguear parejas y grupos de amigos, además de solos y solas. Encontramos bailando hasta de madrugada a Pedro, Olga, Enrique y María Eva.

Vivi Verri En “Milonga de Buenos Aires”, de los viernes en Obelisco Tango, encontramos a su organizador Carlos Gallego muy bien secundado por Lorena Bouzas, su socia, la DJ Vivi La Falce; y sus fieles milongueros, entre ellos, Juan y Anita Rossell.

Pedro y Rosa Molina, de España, en Porteño y Bailarín, de Carlos Stasi. Néstor Paladino estuvo con algunos de sus discípulos, entre ellos, Morinigo Marcos y Alejandra -quien celebró su cumpleaños-. Laila Rezk posó junto a los bailarines Juani Braida y Valentina Belizán, tras su exhibición.

Se inauguró una nueva milonga en la tarde porteña: Champagne Tango Club, en Perón 1372, organizada por Teresa López, Andrés Rojas y Ámbar Hidalgo. Bailaron Anabela Brogioli y Daniel Nacucchio, y el DJ invitado fue el querido Mario Orlando. ¡Felicitaciones a todo el equipo!

En La Viruta de Solanas, suelen encontrarse los queridos “viruteros” , como el caso de Verónica y Javier, quienes compartieron mesa con El Chino Perico; Juan, su hija y paeja amiga; Guillermo, Eduardo, Roberto, Luis y Alejandro.

En La Viruta Tango Club, de El Pebete Godoy y Cecilia Troncoso, estuvo la bailarina y actriz Muriel Rébori, disfrutando de Pablo Ramos y Los Herederos del Compás; y muy divertidos tomaron clases y realizaron sus primeros pasos los veteranos jugadores de rugby de “Old Coconut”, quienes de pao por Bayres no se resistieron a conocer esta milonga.

En “Barajando”, la milonga de Jonatan Rojas y Norma en Lo de Celia, estuvieron bailando Alba, Gladys, Juan Carlos La Falce, Jorge, y los “muchachos milongueros” Norberto, Julián, Héctor y Norberto II, entre muchos otros.

En la Milonga de Pedro Echagüe, que organiza Mariano Caballero, los sábados y domingos por la tarde y por la noche, la tanda carioca con cotillón está entre las preferidas de la gente. Bailaron Cristian Taffarello y Luciana Maiolo y estuvieron Carlitos, Aída, y Karina, entre otros.

En “Milonga en Rojo”, que organiza Adriana Febbroni, los sábados en Lo de Celia, estuvieron Mirta, Silvia; Miguel y Marta; e Irma y Rosa, bailando con grandes milongueros.

Sin miedo a los miedos No fear of fear

“Este disco es muy personal, son canciones que hablan de la desolación. Una épica del desastre, pero con humor. En todo momento quise que se vean los miedos: los que me acosan a mí y que, quizás, sean los miedos de todos. Pienso que mostrando mi fragilidad puedo acompañar y sentirme acompañada. Todo el disco está plagado de referencias a la ciudad caótica, melancólica y brutal en la que vivimos. El Buenos Aires que amamos”. Casi una confesión suenan las palabras de Julieta Laso, la joven cantante de voz tan sugerente como poderosa, quien del desafío de ser la voz de la Orquesta Típica Fernández Fierro (OTFF), desde hace cuatro años, se la juega ahora presentando un nuevo disco solista: se trata de “Martingala”, el compacto que presentará los próximos jueves 8 y viernes 9, a las 21 horas, en Lucile Bar (Gorriti 5520), acompañada de un numeroso grupo de músicos. Ellos son: Alexey Musatov en violín; Matías Fernández Levy y Nico Ariana en percusión; Noelia Sinkunas en piano; Paloma Schachmann en clarón; Cristian Basto en contrabajo; Lisandro Silva Echevarría en guitarra; y Diego Baiardi y Pelu Romero en coros. Esta joven e intensa cantante, porteña, nacida en 1982, presenta su segundo álbum solista, en el que conviven distintas músicas del mundo, interpretadas con su particular impronta, salvaje y tierna. “Me he dado algunos lujos, me he tomado algunas licencias, es un disco hecho para mí”, afirma la cantante, que despliega nuevos recursos y obtiene una alquimia inédita al pasar por su cuerpo valses, milongas, zambas y blues. “Laso es un animal ciudadano que canta desde el suburbio, la sensualidad, los fantasmas, el glamour y la decadencia. Única en su estilo, sus shows prometen un despliegue de estas energías y una elaborada puesta”, afirma la crítica. En su faceta solista, Julieta grabó en 2010 su CD debut Tango Rante, que incluye un repertorio de tangos y milongas y donde está acompañada por los guitarristas Juan Otero, German Montaldo y Leandro Angeli. They are: Alexey Musatov on violin; Matías Fernández Levy and Nico Ariana on percussion; Noelia Sinkunas on piano; Paloma Schachmann on bass clarinet; Cristian Basto on double bass; Lisandro Silva Echevarría on guitar; and Diego Baiardi and Pelu Romero in chorus. This intensive young singer, from downtown Buenos Aires, born in 1982, presents her second solo album, where quite different kinds of music from around the world coexist, interpreted with her own particular stamp, both savage and tender. “I’ve allowed myself a few luxuries, I’ve taken some liberties, it’s a CD made for me,” states the singer. She unfolds new resources and achieves an unprecedented alchemy as she passes valses, milongas, zambas and blues through her body. “Laso is an urban animal who sings from the slum, its sensuality, phantasms, glamour and decadence. Unique in her style, her shows promise and array of these energies and an elaborate stage set,” states the review. In her soloist role, Julieta recorded her debut CD “Tango Rante” in 2010, which includes a repertoire of tangos and milongas in which she is accompanied by the guitarists Juan Otero, German Montaldo and Leandro Angeli.
