: master workshop. tourism infrastructures - acupunctura hidrica RIMINI, ITALY
The city of Rimini represents a type of mass tourism, which focuses on the convenience of renting a beach umbrella and a deckchair to get a tan on a completely artificial beach. The hydraulic infrastructure works based on a problem of erosion of the shrinking beach, whose loss can not be avoided if not only delayed over the years.
The project is based on the redevelopment of the landscapes ancient elements and of Emilia Romagna in general: the Maceri - artificial water tanks that farmers constructed to produce hemp for fabrics. Those forgotten elements are dispersed in the hinterland of Rimini, very different from each other for vegetation, for evolution and contemporary use.
Through the creation of a system of tourist routes, it would be possible to create a new low-density tourism, to preserve the intimate character of these elements, their biodiversity and at the same time allow tourists to know and experience the character of the ancient agriculture.
The project seeks to broad views, to diversify the water supply and generate alternative tourism, reactivating a legacy of productive and ecological character at the same time.
Analysing the ecologically unsustainable use of the coast, the project seeks to open the possibility to a new vision of resilient tourism, through an infrastructure of simple construction that allows to raise and reactivate elements of the landscape that present a completely forgotten potential.
