A WARM CELEBRATION OF SOUTH EAST ASIAN FLAVOURS AT THE ASEAN FOOD FESTIVAL 2024

Saturday, 9 November 2024, was filled with the vibrant and welcoming spirit of South East Asia,

The festival was a delightful journey through the diverse and flavourful dishes of South East Asia as guests were treated to a variety of mouth-watering bites, from savoury mains to sweet treats, all lovingly prepared to offer a true taste of the region.

But it was not just about the food – it was about connection. The ASEAN Food Festival was a chance for people to come together, share in the warmth of South East Asian hospitality, and enjoy good food with great company.

The festival was also a chance to meet members of the South East Asian communities in Nairobi, who shared their culture and experiences, adding an extra layer of richness to the event.

The ASEAN Food Festival was a beautiful reminder of the power of food to bring people together, to bridge cultures, and to celebrate the simple pleasures of life!

ALIEN INVASION HALLOWEEN PARTY

On Saturday, October 26, 2024, Village Market transformed into the epicenter of an extra-terrestrial takeover. UFOs descended, mysterious alien forces took over, and the entire venue came alive with spine-chilling excitement, all thanks to the highly anticipated Alien Invasion Halloween Party.

The festivities kicked off in the afternoon with the Lil Mutants Party on the Rooftop Parking from 4:00pm to 6:00pm, the rooftop became a whimsical, spooky playground for the little ones. Kids dressed up as their favourite aliens, superheroes, and creepy creatures, taking part in a variety of fun-filled activities. Trick-or-treating was in full swing, and the fancy dress contest brought out some truly creative and hilarious costumes.

As the evening progressed, the energy shifted to the Adult Villain Party, which kicked off at 6:00pm till late.

The Foodcourt and Courtyard areas were transformed into a dark ALIEN INVASION HALLOWEEN PARTY and electrifying

playground for adults, featuring eerie lights, creepy decorations, and killer music from the Beathogs band that had everyone dancing all night long.

Guests came dressed in their best villain and alien-themed outfits, from iconic movie villains to imaginative extra-terrestrial beings, making for a visually stunning spectacle.

The night was filled with unforgettable moments – whether it was the laughter and joy of the little ones at the Lil Mutants Party or the electric atmosphere of the Villain Party. From start to finish, the Alien Invasion Halloween at Village Market was a massive success, offering a perfect blend of family-friendly fun and thrilling adult entertainment.

The event truly lived up to its name, leaving everyone with lasting memories, a sense of adventure, and the eerie feeling that maybe, just maybe, the aliens are still among us!

We cannot wait to see you next year for another thrilling extra-terrestrial experience!

INTER-CORPORATE BOWLING TOURNAMENT RECAP: VMX FITNESS TAKES THE CROWN!

The 5th edition of the Inter-Corporate Bowling Tournament at Village Bowl was a night to remember. Corporates came together for an evening of excitement, networking, and friendly competition giving a perfect break from the usual workday hustle, filled with high energy and team spirit. In the end, VMX Fitness rose to the top, clinching the grand prize of KES 100,000. Congratulations to VMX Fitness on their well-deserved victory. A big thank you to all the teams who participated and brought their A-game.

THAI MARKET FAIR 2024.

The Thailand Market Fair 2024 was a vibrant celebration of Thai culture, offering a unique opportunity to explore and experience the best of Thailand’s quality products and traditional food. Held from 20-24 November the fair brought a touch of Thailand to Nairobi, delighting visitors with a fascinating range of goods and culinary delights.

From the moment guests stepped into the event, Guests were immersed in the rich flavours and vibrant colours that Thailand is known for – a celebration of Thai craftsmanship, too.

The Thailand Market Fair was also an opportunity to meet and connect with the Thai community in Nairobi, and to experience the warmth and hospitality that Thailand is famous for. The Muay Thai Masters event at the Village Market Rooftop was an unforgettable experience, offering a fascinating glimpse into the world of this ancient martial art. WORLD WINE WEEKEND AT VILLAGE MARKET

The World Wine Weekend at the Village Market from 5th-8th December 2024 was a resounding success, bringing together wine lovers from all walks of life to celebrate the art of fine wine. VILLAGE cares RUNNING FOR CONSERVATION:

The UltraMARA thon in Kenya

Running through the Mara is a surreal experience. The landscape is stunning in its raw beauty: wide open plains punctuated by lone trees, the glint of sunlight on the dew of the early morning savanna, and the distant hum of wildlife, from elephants to zebras and so much more. Unlike traditional safari experiences where you are safely tucked away in a vehicle, the UltraMARAthon places you in the heart of the wilderness. Every step of the race brings a visceral sense of connection to the environment around you.

As I ran, I found myself crossing paths with herds of wildebeest, their journey through the Mara forming a parallel to mine. At times, Maasai herders would watch from afar, a reminder that these conservancies are home not

just to animals but to people who have lived here for centuries, relying on a sustainable coexistence with wildlife. This is a unique element of the UltraMARAthon – it's not just a race but an immersive way to explore the northern Mara from a deeply intimate perspective and by contributing to the greater cause.

The race offers a scenic yet demanding 50-kilometre route. Runners can join as individuals or form relay teams of two or four, fostering teamwork and camaraderie. Starting and ending at the Mara Elephant Project (MEP) headquarters, runners traverse rugged tracks and grass paths, encountering spectacular views along the way. The elevation gain of 342 metres adds to the challenge, while temperatures average 26°C, ensuring participants face varied conditions.

Reflect, Set Intentions, and Plan for the New Year: A Date with Friends
