The investment, amounting to approximately 5 million euros, will also be creating 27 new jobs. Innovative production Made in Germany GROHE supplies its entire global product portfolio for hand showers and shower systems with around 1300 product variants produced at its Lahr site. As a technology leader, GROHE invests significantly in the continuous expansion of its five production plants worldwide. This plant is equipped with state-of-theart technology, working with more than 100 automated processes and collaborative robots. Over the past five years the number of GROHE employees in Lahr has risen by 20 percent to around 750.
Investing more into sustainability – CO2-neutral production target for 2020 As CEO of Grohe AG, Thomas Fuhr is also responsible for the areas of technology and sustainability. In this context, GROHE converted all its production plants to green electricity in July 2019. The provider of sanitary fittings will also offset unavoidable CO₂ emissions with compensation projects. Shower highlights from Lahr ensure “pure joy of water” worldwide In conscious contrast to the hectic, loud world outside, our bathrooms increasingly become oases of wellbeing where we find peace in our own personal spa. Minimalist design and products play an important role here. When developing its product solutions, the global brand for full bathroom solutions focuses on the needs of the consumer and develops innovations for a sustainable water experience with an approach that combines intuitive use with precise control and water enjoyment without compromise. The results of this approach include, for example, the innovative GROHE SmartControl for showers, with the push-turn-shower control panel that makes it easy to select water pressure and spray patterns or switch between the head and hand shower. Additionally, the latest shower innovations from the GROHE Rainshower family have convincing smart features while giving the user full control with intuitive operation. The most innovative hand shower in the portfolio is the new GROHE SmartActive. The integrated GROHE SmartTip technology enables intuitive selection of spray patterns. Positioned conveniently on the back of the ergonomicallyshaped hand shower, the preferred spray pattern can be selected with just a tip of a finger. Also, thanks to the GROHE DripStop feature, that annoying dripping after switching off the hand shower is a thing of the past.

Our aim, therefore, is to work with our clients to to create their perfect, personalised table, accessories and lighting. History Our family-run business began with the restoration, renovation and reproduction of Antique billiard tables. Along the way, we discovered the dual-purpose dining tables that were so popular in the Victorian era, and did our best to re-produce and re-create these wonderful peices of furniture. Over the years we have refined and developed the mechanisms that transform the tables from dining tables to playing tables, and our client’s increasingly diverse requirements for these and for bespoke pool, snooker and billiards tables, have led us to make more and varied designs.
Using different woods & metals, with personally selected finishes and details, introducing new leg designs & cushion surrounds to alter the ‘silhouette’, many designs have been re-iterated many times. Some have been so strikingly individual they are effectively unique. Most importantly, our focus has always been on producing individual pieces of the highest quality. As a result we have become globally renowned amongst private clients and Interior designers, for the beauty and attention to detail of our craftsmen’s work. Whether your search is for an Antique, second-hand, bespoke or replica table, for billiards, snooker or for pool, for a stunning contemporary rollover or an elegant wind-up dual- purpose table for dining and playing, you are sure to find either exactly what you are looking for or the inspiration to specify your very own custom-made and designed table.

MODERN CONTEMPORARY APARTMENT AN AWARD WINNER RESIDENTIAL PROJECT WITH COVET HOUSE Designed By Oksana Salberg-Vachnadze from the prestigious O2 Design Moscow Studio created this residential project that was awarded the International Property Award in the Interior Design Apartments category. They were asked by the clients, a married couple with a teenage daughter, to decorate their apartment in a prestigious residential complex in Moscow, near the Sokolniki park. The owners wanted an interior in a modern and respectable style. The designer created a monochrome color palette, but then they asked to add a little color. This is how this interior with a striking color palette, stylish furniture, and impressive contemporary artwork came to life. That’s where the luxurious and striking furniture, upholstery, lighting, and accessories from COVET HOUSE brands like BOCA DO LOBO, DELIGHTFULL, BRABBU, KOKET, MAISON VALENTINA, CIRCU, LUXXU, ESSENTIAL HOME, RUG’SOCIETY, PULLCAST, and FOOGO struck gold and perfectly complemented every detail of the overall aesthetic and architecture of the apartment. The neoclassical style and the colour white served as the starting point of this interior. White cornice mouldings create a beautiful contrast with colourful modern furniture and add a certain cultural context: such an interior might have been found in any European capital. The apartment’s planning is simple and logical: it consists of three rooms with a big living room and a space that combines the kitchen with the dining room, and two bedrooms — master bedroom and the daughter’s bedroom.
Project In the Living room area, the color scheme of the space is bright accents against the white background. The stylish rug with a print imitating stone is a link between furniture items: the sofa, the bright yellow armchair and the coffee table with an openwork metal base, with tempered smoked glass resting on the polished stainless steel base. This simple yet refined piece from BOCA DO LOBO, an evocative of a fine jewelry piece, this striking table blends a certain delicacy with its contrasting strong character. A BIT PROVOCATIVE, AND AN ALMOST ECLECTIC VIBE, THIS LIVING AREA SHOWS HOW PERFECT THE COLORS OF THE MODERN MOVEMENT FIT INTO THE CONTEMPORARY STYLE. Also with the retro appeal of some of the lines and even the floor lamp Duke, from DELIGHTFUL. This standing lamp pays tribute to the jazz musician Duke Ellington with this retro-styled lamp, with brass arms and the white shades drape on the sides to shine a light on its refined interior. Next to the living area, is the equally masterful dining room. A perfect symbiosis of styles and colors, the single space is divided into two areas by a console with art deco table lamps. An unusual chandelier, contemporary artwork, and velvet curtains create an atmosphere of aristocratic chic. The Botti chandelier is the perfect mid-century lighting design, inspired by the American trumpet player as a tribute to jazz music. With a structure handmade in brass and boasting a sophisticated gold-plated finish, this modern ceiling light showcases the high-quality craftsmanship is the right match for the art deco table lamps. Wall and ceiling moldings and herringbone parquet flooring are inspired by the Paris impressions. A Venetian mirror and contemporary console are one of the examples of how effortlessly objects coexist in this interior. The handmade mirror is done in a rare, almost lost technique of mirror carving. This object is unique and can be passed down to the next generation. The Sinuous Patina Console from BOCA DO LOBO creates a luxurious environment. Sinuous lines draw the elegant character of this console, with a handcrafted structure in mahogany with a high gloss black lacquer finish and top coated in polished brass, the perfect final touch in the dining room. A convenient ergonomic kitchen with a kitchen-island is stylistically and color neutral. It is deliberately not supposed to stand out in an open plan living room/dining room/ kitchen area. The breakfast table is neutral and laconic as well. The bright accent of the kitchen is yellow hairs. Kitchen interior effortlessly combines ecological motives with luxury. The entrance hall. One of the walls and the door slope are finished with mirrors, it adds more air and light to the space. An elegant mise en scene in the entrance hall: the console, the painting, monochrome vases. The console with a geometric print is designed by Oksana SalbergVachnadze herself. The customized Galliano Wall Lamp from DELIGHTFULL is the cherry on the top for the aesthetic of the hall. The minimalist style of the lamps fit amazingly with the geometric patterns of the console and artwork. Made of iron, Galliano produces a unique lighting effect when the light is being cast through its pipes. Winter Edition 2019 Luxury Interiors Magazine 07
Project
The corridor is dividing the private and common areas of the apartment. The white color palette and wall moldings make the space visually bigger, broken by the Brubeck Wall Lamp also from DELIGHTFULL, this luxurious wall sconce is a statement piece on its own, shining by its own and breaking free from the white walls. The master bedroom with a pale turquoise color of the Tiffany box served as the starting point of this room’s color palette. Crimson, red, and grey objects were chosen to accompany it. Mirrors play a major role in the bedroom’s décor: there is a mirror door slope, a mirror above the bed and nightstands that seem to slowly melt into the air. The bedroom, view from the entrance. A light hexagonal lamp accentuates the shape of the bay window of the bedroom. In the bay window, there is a tea table with armchairs, the color of which matches the color of the walls to make the room appear more spacious. The bathroom is designed with a deliberate luxury: marble panel, black free-standing bathtub and a contrasting black and white floor pattern. The unique marble pattern in the bathroom resembles the river current. Copper and gold accessories complete the picture. The junior room has a comfortable lounge area with many pillows in the bay window. The study area is compact and consists of a small elegant desk and an office chair. The daughter’s bedroom is nothing extra, but the interior doesn’t look ascetic due to the bright colors. Added to the daughter’s room (the permission to add loggias was received from the officials).A small library was organized there. 08 Luxury Interiors Magazine Winter Edition 2019

Creating the ultimate luxe look in bathroom design A minimalist, luxury bathroom is all very well, but it can sometimes feel a bit stark. It can be a place of straight lines and hard edges, lacking in warmth and tactile appeal. So how do you introduce a softer feel, while still maintaining that high end look? In the case of Roselind Wilson Design’s scheme for their discerning clients in St John’s Wood, it was all about embracing the curve. “The clients wanted something really special for their master bathroom – a delicate balance between functionality and aesthetics,” says Roselind Wilson, Owner and Creative Director of Roselind Wilson Design. “They requested a relaxing space, but they didn’t want to compromise on style. By introducing gentle, organic curves via the walls, bath and lighting, we created a soft, welcoming space which is still highly sophisticated.” CURVE APPEAL The starting point for this bathroom was to introduce curves to create softness and interest. The first-floor bathroom was large with plenty of natural light, but Roselind felt that the shape of the room could be improved upon. And so she created curved walls on either side of the large sash window to frame the bath. The oval bath, which mimics the curve of the walls, was then positioned under the window to make the most of the view. This then led to the decision to create an elliptical coffered ceiling above the bath to tie in with its curved shape. “The other key aspect with this bathroom was to meet the client’s specific request to achieve a balance between aesthetics and functionality,” says Roselind.
IT’S ALL IN THE DETAIL Attention to detail is one of the attributes which epitomises the team’s approach at Roselind Wilson Design. Every aspect of every scheme is meticulously planned, and sometimes it’s the smallest of touches which can lift a design from impressive to extraordinary. In the case of this elegant bathroom in St John’s Wood, brass and bronze detailing around the room gives the space a contemporary feel. Elegant strips of bronze have been placed where the large porcelain wall tiles meet the curved wall, and bronze has also been used for the mirror surround and for the legs of the vanity unit. To complement these details, Roselind selected light fittings made from brass and glass to flank the large mirror. So what was the biggest challenge the team faced with this ambitious project? “Without doubt, it was trying to get the enormous 3 metre by 1.5 metre porcelain tiles into the first floor of the property!” says Roselind. “We ended up lifting them in through the window of the adjoining dressing room with the help of a cherry picker. A successful solution and fantastic result as the tiles look absolutely stunning up on the wall.” The clients couldn’t agree more. They were absolutely thrilled with their new bathroom which gave them exactly what they’d asked for – an elegant but functional room in which they could relax and unwind. “They particularly loved the detail in the coffered ceiling and the bronze inlay on the walls,” says Roselind.
“They wanted a really functional bathroom – a powerful shower, a comfortable bath – but they were also very specific about materials. They wanted a super luxe look, but with only a minimal amount of marble because of how high maintenance it can be. So we opted for large porcelain tiles for the walls, a composite for the vanity unit and a highly polished, durable marble for the floor.” LUXE LIGHTING Lighting is key to the success of any luxury bathroom scheme, and Roselind Wilson Design’s St John’s Wood project is no exception. The distinctive, coffered ceiling is central to the design of this bathroom. An elliptical shape was chosen to echo the curves of the bath and the walls, and the fluted edges mirror the fluting found in the architectural details throughout this grand Victorian property. A contemporary design feature making a clear nod to the past. “We embedded LED lighting inside the coffered ceiling which casts a gentle wash of light over the fluted edges of the coffer,” explains Roselind. “We always pay very close attention to the colour of our lighting schemes, so for this installation we opted for 2700 Kelvin which gives a lovely, warm glow. This bespoke light feature creates a relaxing ambience in which to unwind in the bath.” Winter Edition 2019 Luxury Interiors Magazine 11
BLANCO UK’S NEW QUATRUS SINK FOR MAXIMUM BOWL AND CABINET SPACE BLANCO’s stunning new stainless steel QUATRUS sink showcases the company’s well-known intelligent design capability while making maximum use of the cabinet. The striking, modern rectangular bowl of the QUATRUS sink offers plenty of space for all the user’s culinary and utility needs while leaving lots of free space in the cabinet. The large sink space is also perfect for today’s clever taps; it can be fitted with boiling-water taps and filter taps to provide an optimal functioning kitchen and, to create a spectacular focal point, homeowners can opt for an angular tap as the shape complements the deep rectangular bowl. Additionally, both aesthetics and functionality are amplified through the off-set drain. This not only hides the drain out of sight; it also enables the homeowner to make the most of the rest of the sink, for food preparation or soaking dishes or whatever else they may need, without blocking the drain. The undermount installation also allows for greater flexibility with different work surfaces as the edge of worktops can be blended over the top of the sink frame to produce a seamless finish. Available in two different sizes, BLANCO QUATRUS 550-U and the slightly larger BLANCO QUATRUS 700-U, the sink design is the perfect complement in any kitchen scheme. EASY-TO-CLEAN WORKTOPS FROM KÖNIGSTONE KEEP THE KITCHEN SPARKLING
A Königstone worktop is perfect for all kitchens; they look fabulous and are extremely low maintenance thanks to the easy-to-clean nature of granite and quartz. One of the best things about Königstone worktops is that both materials are manufactured to make a homeowner’s life easier when it comes to cleaning; quartz surfaces are engineered to be stainresistant and the range of granite worktops come with a protective anti-stain coating. However, Königstone still recommends wiping the surfaces down daily, and making sure that big spills are wiped up as soon as they happen.

SANIFLO LAUNCHES MID-MARKET KINESURF PIETRA SHOWER TRAY
The lightweight Saniflo Kinesurf Pietra shower tray is a simple, classic design for the mid-market featuring a stunning mineral textured surface. This versatile shower tray is available in four colours – white, black, anthracite and grey – and is easy to cut at just 40mm thick. The Kinesurf Pietra can be teamed up with matching wall panels if required. The grainy Biocryl surface is reinforced with Biotec, a high density polymer that is also used to reinforce the ultra-flat stainless steel waste to match the tray colour.
For tougher, more stubborn marks, the damp cloth may need an extra helping hand from a stronger detergent. However, which substance is used will differ between granite and quartz surfaces as non-porous stone and porous stone require different care. Homeowners should use a cream cleaner to remove persistent stains on a quartz worktop while a natural stone cleaner would be better suited for a granite surface.
Multiple sizes in square and rectangular shapes can be specified from the compact 800mm to the walk-in 1800mm.
For further information on Königstone, please email info@konigstone.co.uk or visit www.konigstone.co.uk.

With good surface grip, the Kinesurf Pietra offers peace of mind for users and the minimalist design blends perfectly into any bathroom, creating the perfect showering experience.

Interview Tarryn was originally born in Johannesburg, South Africa but raised in the UK. She has a great love for the African bush, its simple lifestyle and the lessons it teaches us. Personal and professional reasons in their family recently lead to a new career change and starting this new business.
Luxury Interiors Magazine spoke with Tarryn Ginsberg, Co-Founder of Khayni about the business and the inspirations behind the latest collection
14 Luxury Interiors Magazine Winter Edition 2019
Interview Have you always been passionate about interior design for the home?
Talk us through the inspiration behind your latest collection?
I have always loved design, as I have grown older my love for home design and style has grown too. Our modern lifestyles are really challenging both mentally and physically and I really believe that the home is a place of sanctuary which allows us to rebalance and find our centre again. How we style our homes plays a vital role in achieving a peaceful space for us to live well.
Our collections have been inspired by elements of nature and places. We have two cushion collections which are inspired by the beach from sandy shores, to palm trees and crashing waves. We have used buttons made from coconut husks and included cowrie shells with coconut beads, both details are subtle nods to the natural elements. Our other two cushion collections have been inspired by African landscape and wildlife. We take careful consideration with the sourcing of our textiles, whilst we want to ensure that the essence of the natural world, we do not want to create too similar of a replica so we can create more of a sophisticated style.
What inspired you to create your own business? Many things! From being our own bosses to creating and sharing ideas to being a positive force for change by thinking outside of the norm. My brother and I bought our first homes around the same time as each other and as we were developing our style, we found ourselves having to work really hard to source the pieces we wanted. A lot of pieces we were importing, days were spent scouring through Chelsea harbour to source textiles for cushions and I took lessons to learn how to sew my own cushions. During this process we found that the interior world can be quite closed off to the ordinary person who wants to have an active role in their home styling process, I wasn’t able to purchase the high quality textiles I wanted unless I had a trade account and then when I did I had to order minimum quantities so it ended up being a costly and wasteful exercise. From our experiences, we are really passionate about looking to create premium soft furnishings and home accessories that are more accessible to everybody and different from what is currently readily available. We have also spent considerable time curating beautiful artisanal products from different countries, so that everybody who wishes to can accessorise their homes with them. We feel that there is a real need and space to start opening up the interior design industry to new smaller brands of designers and giving customers more choice. If we look at the fashion industry, firstly the accessibility is much easier with big fashion brands and e-commerce platforms like Net A Porter. For those who enjoy fashion and styling they have the ability to access everything they need without having to hire a professional stylist. Whereas, home design still heavily relies on interior designers for accessibility. Secondly, there is a much wider choice for customers at all levels and in recent years we have seen smaller, new design brands start to emerge which has made it more exciting as a consumer. Whilst the home design world is slowly adapting with e-commerce platforms like Lux Deco and Amara, it would be wonderful to see the inclusion of smaller e-commerce brands become more frequent like we have seen in fashion.
What is your favourite collection and why? My favourite is our Bush Bound cushion collection, it was a labour of love! The African bush is one of my favourite places to be and creating a collection inspired by the wildlife and landscapes that reminds me of this every time I see the pieces is really special. The collection ranges includes a sophisticated reference to animal prints with a leopard print in a soft velvet textile, a striking patterned print inspired by zebra hides and a woven faux leather in an earth brown. My absolute favourite is our Khaki Fever cushion which is made from a linen blend textile and is designed with beautiful horn buttons and specialised stitching detail. How important is it to source natural products? Natural products play such an important role in home style. Our range of curated products are made by local communities from natural materials, from different woods to shells. We have also created designs with natural details, incorporating shells, buttons made from coconut husks and horns to leather rope. Tradition mixed with modernity, can be a hard task, how do you go about creating a new collection that is in keeping with both? It helps when you look at the pieces as a whole before you get started, what elements that you keep as authentic and natural as possible and where can you elevate the product to introduce more modern elements. Our tableware is a great example, the tradition comes from generations of pottery making skills that our artist uses but it is met with contemporary designs and detailing. Whilst the pieces look contemporary they are in fact products of years of tradition which makes them incredibly special. Continued >
Who inspires you? Africa, nature and wildlife, travel and landscapes. I like the idea of introducing the natural world into your home as nature is very healing and in turn this creates a healing space. Do you have a signature style? Less is more, finding the balance between minimalism and warmth in a home is really important. Whilst you want your space to be contemporary and stylish you don’t want to lose comfort and coziness. I am a big fan of natural colour schemes and understated style where the luxury comes with the pedigree furnishings, craftsmanship and luxurious textiles. Interview When we curate products we select items that are classic and adaptable to most home styles. Africa has some incredible craftsmanship and beautifully styled pieces and it is really important for us to showcase the effortless blend between tradition and modernity of their work. A lot of the time when African pieces are styled they can become over the top and lack subtlety. I also really like the fact that these pieces whilst one of a kind all share the same history and are rich in tradition and culture. For me there has always been something very calming about styling my home with meaningful ornaments and accessories as each time I see them it brings a sense of reflectiveness and some perspective in contrast to our modern lives. What have been the biggest challenges you have faced so far? We have been incredibly fortunate to work with some wonderful people who have worked very hard to help us bring our designs to life. I think the biggest challenge for us now is to establish our name in the market-place and try and lead the same innovation of smaller designers for home design, that we have seen take place in the fashion industry. How important is sustainability to you and how do you ensure that your products promote this? I think it is really important to consider the impact that your actions have in whatever you do. For our own designed products we have chosen to work with local artists and tailors. This helps support our local communities economically as well as reducing the impact that we have on the environment. Our curated products come from local communities within Africa and Indonesia, ensuring that we put profits back into those communities.

If you could collaborate with any brand in the world, who would it be and why? That is a tough one as there are so many! Of the top of my head the fashion brand, The Row, they are effortless in their style, understated with their looks, timeless in their designs and luxury with the textiles and materials that they use as well as the high details to tailoring and craftsmanship. What are the plans and goals for the future? It would be a dream come true to establish Khayni as a household home dĂŠcor and lifestyle brand internationally and to continue to produce products that we love and believe help make homes more meaningful.

Product Review
Luxury Interiors Magazine thoughts on the ColourReader from DataColor Written by Francesca Amato
We’ve all been there; whilst looking for interior design inspiration, you come across the perfect colour of teal that would look absolutely gorgeous with your brand new furniture, but you can’t accurately record the colour, or find a similar match. You spend hours trying to manually colour match, but get nowhere. This is where a tech savvy, gadget comes into play, the ColourReader from DataColor. It is a small device, which with a quick click of a button, identifies a near-identical match to that perfect colour of teal instantly, and even gives you a few similar shades as well. It works by downloading the app and from there, you can scan away! Using Bluetooth technology, you are able to connect via your smartphone or Android and then using the software through the app, you can begin to scan various colours on walls, cushions you name it!
I found this device so convenient and easy to use, and having just moved into a new home, it is proving very helpful to find colours that match my colour scheme. I simply scanned a colour of a wall in a shop, and I was very impressed with the match as well as the complementary colours from various brands. One of the impressive features of the app is the option to create your own colour palettes, which helps to visualise all the various colour shades together. This device would be perfect for interior designers, graphic designers, decorators and anyone that is looking to take on a design project/refurb, helping to achieve the perfect overall colour aesthetic. Additionally, with many more people getting into DIY, this device would be perfect for anyone to try out. The device is small and compact, which is perfect for storage purposes and to carry around places with you, helping you to conveniently find colours on the go. One of its most impressive features is the software and the app itself, I haven’t come across anything like this before, and it was great to scan various colours I came across whilst out, and gain some inspiration. Another great feature is that the battery is rechargeable, and the app has many language settings. Overall this is a fantastic device which makes projects a lot easier, and helps with colour matching and finding particular colours with ease. It is affordable for the type of product it is and the technology, it also helps massively with colour decisions and speeding up the process of design and refurbishment projects. This is a device I will continue to use, and I would highly recommend this to anyone that is taking on a new project, as it can be hard to match similar colours together and visualise colours together, you will be impressed by what this device does and it will push your interior design decisions to the next level. Interior Design Project
London: VyTA Covent Garden by COLLIDANIELARCHITETTO combines the warmth of Italian hospitality and contemporary taste Open non-stop from breakfast to post-dinner, the venue hits London bearing the signature of COLLIDANIELARCHITETTO (www.collidaniela. com), and constituting the first restaurant and cocktail bar at international level by VyTA. The project, promoted by renowned entrepreneur Nicolò Marzotto, co-owner of Santa Margherita Wine group and owner of Vyta, squares up to the challenge of promoting a new style of fine food, which fuses Italian gourmet cuisine with contemporary design. Located in the East tower of Covent Garden market, a famous listed building grade II monument and heart of swinging London in the 1960s, VyTA is part of a broader redevelopment programme that has transformed the neighbourhood from a tourist destination into a lively, upbeat corner of the city. The vibrant and creative square looks to the future and attracts a cosmopolitan audience in search of exclusive experiences. Eclecticism and experimentation are the fundamental ingredients at VyTA Covent Garden: wooden walls and lacquered surfaces, inlays and friezes, glass and precious metals shape glamorous spaces wholeheartedly express unconventional Italian style. The interior design draws heavily on the Italian architectural culture of the Sixties, from which it takes its refinement of the construction and decorative details, the conception of the space as a living set, and the cocktail of elegance and irony in its geometric stylizations. The rhombus constitutes the matrix of the dynamic elements that characterize design, from the macro engravings of the boiserie to the decorative patterns of the polychrome marble floors. Winter Edition 2019 Luxury Interiors Magazine 21
Interior Design Project “VyTA Covent Garden is a wonderland of colours and shapes, designed to surprise, celebrate and entertain people who’s looking for a world of pleasure and emotions”, asserts Daniela Colli, founder of the firm. Organized on three floors, with a large outdoor area overlooking the square, which brims with street artists, and two terraces on the upper floor that serve as lounge bars, VyTA Covent Garden presents quintessentially elegant and sophisticated environments. Through a Victorian-style window, consumers enter a vestibule, where the staircase with its rosewood steps – the heart of the historic building’s renovation – winds seamlessly around a robust septum in green Alpi marble, which visually and physically connects the different levels. Gold-coloured wallpaper adorns the stairwell, dominated by an ethereal chandelier with macro brass leaves. The lower floor, intimate and welcoming, houses several rooms with vaulted ceilings, once used as storage areas for the shops above. The polychrome marble floor, inspired by the artworks of the futurist painter Giacomo Balla, and the dynamism of his design composed of over 7,000 rhombuses and half-rhombuses in marble, brings continuity and fluidity to the rooms, fragmented by the original structure. White lacquered vaults with rhombus and circle decorations dominate the succession of private spaces and niches, wrapped in lacquered walls with friezes and mirrors that amplify the space, accompanying the client on a discovery of surprising underground London. Enveloping linear sofas, velvet-upholstered chairs in burgundy and pink peony, and glass tables with brass finishes, complete the heterogeneous design of the rooms. The upper floor interacts with the city through large windows. In the main room, mirrored surfaces amplify the space, while precious materials such as rosewood, brass, glass and velvet, invite guests to immerse themselves in a contemporary atmosphere. The cocktail bar is dominated by a counter cladded with polished brass tubes and a shelf in green Alpi marble, where wine tastings and signature cocktails are passionately prepared by nimble bar tenders. Two terraces, facing North and South respectively offer an unusual open-air experience in London. The first, more intimate, is equipped with sofas, coloured metal tables and large flower-filled vases; the other, which is larger in size, features a long counter and emerald green metal stools, and is visually projected towards the iconic Covent Garden dome and the vivid life of the square. Finally, the external dehor, rebaptized “VyTA Garden” accommodates up to 100 people. Set with tables and chairs and shielded by large white umbrellas, it represents an urban oasis where consumers can take a break from the heat and pace of the city. The geometric patterns that adorn the surfaces, the bold colour choices, the striking velvet furnishings, and the large lamps with metallized globes, contribute to creating a unique location, with a strong and decisive character. With its intriguing proposal and eclectic and sophisticated design, VyTA Covent Garden is the exceptional ambassador of Made in Italy and a must for lovers of today’s swinging London. 22 Luxury Interiors Magazine Winter Edition 2019

GRATA - LUXURY BESPOKE FURNITURE
Saving space while providing a contemporary industrial aesthetic, internal steel sliding doors from Steel Window Association members provide solidity without being visually overpowering. The W20 single glazed profiles ensure good sight lines from one area to another, compared to potentially chunky proportions required with timber or aluminium, while allowing maximum light transmission. The slender and robust steel frames are often divided into small panes for aesthetic reasons and are ideally suited to highend, design-led residential and commercial schemes. Bespoke internal steel sliding doors provide considerable design flexibility and may be employed as pocket doors or surface-mounted to slide back across a wall. The doors can be of any size and are hung from a high quality, heavy duty track system so door thresholds are unnecessary, resulting in an uninterrupted finished floor level. Recessed handle plates are normally installed into the door. Excellent durability is assured as the doors can be hot-dip galvanised and factory-finished. To achieve the required look, a high quality polyester powder coat may be applied in any RAL colour or, alternatively, an industrial raw steel finish can be provided that shows up the details of the manufacturing process, including the welded joints. This is achieved either through a clear powder coating or with the application of a high quality factory applied lacquer. For further information on the Steel Window Association, please visit www.steel-window-association.co.uk or call 020 8543 2841.

What are 3D visuals? 3D visuals are essentially images generated digitally. We create a scene on the computer using advanced software that allows us to build in a three-dimensional world. Once the scene has been constructed, materials and textures are added. We then render it, which converts the 3D space into a ‘photograph’ image. What are 3D visuals used for? 3D visuals are used to communicate your vision, your idea, before it takes place in the physical world. Architects, property developers, interior designers and other professionals really benefit from the use of 3D visuals. How does Mighty Visage Work? Our main purpose at Mighty Visage is to understand and duplicate our clients’ vision. During the process of creating your 3D visual, we will show you the development at each project stage, giving you the opportunity to make changes and rectify anything you need before the next stage. This process ensures your complete satisfaction without any hidden fees. How much does it cost? 3D visuals can reduce project costs as making changes digitally is cheaper than physically at the end of the project. We understand that every customer, and every project is very unique. We consider the whole project and price it individually. Depending on intricacy of design, and amount of work involved. How to Make Your House a Home How do you make the leap from house to home? It’s all about adding personal touches. Find out which ones make the most difference with top tips from interiors specialist, Ornatus. Though many might not understand what’s meant by “making your house a home”, we know there’s an undeniable difference between living in a house and living in a home. But what exactly makes your space homely? What it all comes down to is personality. Homes are where your tastes shine through, while houses give off a more temporary, impersonal vibe. Wondering how you can make the transition from house to home in your living space? We’ll tell you all you need to know. Add personal touches A home that’s truly yours is filled with personal touches. It needs to exude you-ness, with hallmarks of your personality and what’s important to you and your family. This can come in the form of framed pictures dotted around your home, reminders of a place that’s special to you or important books stacked strategically on coffee tables. Go green We don’t mean by being eco-friendly, though we certainly won’t discourage it. What we mean here is to add plants around your home. They’ll not only brighten up your spaces and help purify the air, but can show your roots to your home (no pun intended).
Fresh herbs on the windowsill can add a little fragrance to your kitchen, while aloe vera, spider plants and Mother-In-Law’s Tongue can keep the air in your home feeling fresh. If you’re worried about plant maintenance, opt for hardier varieties like succulents. Even artificial houseplants can add the touch of green needed to lift a room. Say yes to wall colours There’s nothing that screams temporary in a house like bare, plain walls. Colour can add warmth and a hint of your personality, while patterned wallpapers will give an element of texture and design. Even if you’re partial to white walls, adorning them with artwork, personal pictures, light fixtures, mirrors or decorative features will give your space a more homely feel. Lay down a rug Rugs aren’t just a functional feature, though they’re certainly useful for protecting floors in high-traffic areas. They’re also great for adding depth and texture to a room, especially on hardwood floors. In rooms that border on being plain, statement rugs can help brighten things up with pops of colour, designs and patterns. They’ll also help anchor a room by acting as a focal point and can bring warmth to cold spaces. Create inviting spaces Homes are all about the people that inhabit them, and in order to foster friendly gatherings, you’ll need to create friendly spaces. Knowing how to assemble your furniture, what candles to put where, finding the right level of plush seating – there’s an art to it. Many of us tend to shove furniture to the outer borders of a room in order to create more space, but this can push visitors away from one another and make gatherings feel less intimate. Resist the urge, and instead cluster plush furniture your friends will want to linger on together in a way that’s comfortable, placing surfaces no further than an arm’s length from sitting areas so wine-drinking is always as simple as possible.
