When Hubert de Givenchy launched his couture house in 1952, he broke with tradition and shook up the fashion world to such an extent he became known as the enfant terrible of haute couture. His first collection that year embraced an avant-garde vision, rejecting the classic one-piece outfit to feature separates that could be worn in any combination. The new and daring de Givenchy range of fragrances is inspired by this authentic spirit of the House’s founder, and also by the wise words of the man himself. “You have style and personality; accentuate them,” he once said. Eight gender neutral fragrances have been developed, each leaving a distinctive trail, but all with the possibility of being magnified and glorified by a ninth fragrance: Accord Particulier de Givenchy. Seen as the true signature of the collection, Accord Particulier de Givenchy can be worn on its own or combined with any of the other fragrances in the series to add more depth, radiance and sensuality. The eight core fragrances are each built around an unusual pairing of ingredients to create particular moods reminiscent of Hubert de Givenchy, such as Trouble-Fête, which evokes the South of France where he spent many summers, or Indompté that captures the de Givenchy wild energy spirit.
