This project is a landscape project and concerns, more precisely, the recognition of ancient Sicilian agricultural, natural and historical landscapes through the construction of an unprecedented landscape.
The project is part of a general hypothesis of the reuse of the former railway line that connected Caltagirone with Piazza Armerina and Dittaino, through the territories of San Michele di Ganzaria and Mirabella Imbaccari. The project rethinks this equipped nature trail as a new-concept “light infrastructure” that innervates a linear park developed on solid railway infrastructure.
This project concerns, more precisely, the unveiling of ancient agricultural, natural, and historical landscapes. The project seeks to define a light infrastructure obtained from the regeneration of works that, although abandoned, have found different forms and reasons for permanence and identity, managing to overcome the violence of the territorial transformations of the last thirty years.
The project has been composing itself like a diagram by ordering lines of different shapes, meanings, and directions. Lines that cross and energize points and surfaces, transforming landscapes into fields of aesthetic, economic, and social energy.
