07:59am American Airlines flight 11, a Boeing 767, carrying eighty one passengers and eleven crew members departs fourteen minutes late from Logan International Airport which is bound for Los Angeles, California. - Fifteen minutes later it is hijacked as air traffic fail to make communication with the aircraft.
08:14am United Airlines Flight 175, another Boeing 767, this time carrying fifty six passengers and nine crew members, departs from Boston Logan Airport - also Los Angeles bound. There are five hijackers on board. - Approximately thirty minutes later, at 08:42am the aircraft is hijacked.

08:37am Three minutes later, Flight 175 confirms sighting of hijacked Flight 11 to flight controllers, which is ten miles to its south.

08:46am Flight 11 crashes at roughly 466 MPH into the north face of the North Tower (1 WTC) between floors ninety three and ninety nine.

The aircraft plows into the building core, severing all three stairwells as well as dragging combustibles with it. A powerful shock wave travels down to the ground and up again. The combustibles and the remnants of the aircraft are ignited by the burning fuel. People below the severed stairwells start to evacuate - no one above the impact zone is able to do so.

This just in. You are looking at obviously a very disturbing live shot there. That is the World Trade Center, and we have unconfirmed reports this morning that a plane has crashed into one of the towers of the World Trade Center. CNN Center right now is just beginning to work on this story, obviously calling our sources and trying to figure out exactly what happened, but clearly something relatively devastating happening this morning there on the south end of the island of Manhattan. That is once again, a picture of one of the towers of the World Trade Center.

08:52am Three minutes later, an attendant on Flight 175 calls a United Airlines office in Chicago, reporting that the flight has been hijacked - both pilots had been killed, a flight attendant had been stabbed, and the hijackers were probably at this point, flying the plane. Lee Hanson receives a phone call from his son Peter, a passenger on board United 175, the conversation is as follows...

09:03am Three minutes later, Flight 175 crashes at approximately 590 MPH into the south face of the South Tower (2 WTC) between floors seventy seven and eighty five. - All sixty five die on board instantly.

09:58am The South Tower of The World Trade Center collapses fifty six minutes after the impact of Flight 175. - Its destruction is viewed and heard by a vast television and radio audience. As the roar of the collapse goes silent, tremendous grey-white smoke clouds of pulverized concrete and gypsum rush through the streets.
10:28am The North Tower of The World Trade Center collapses one hour and fourty two minutes after the impact of Flight 11 - therefore was buring during the whole duration of the attacks. No one who was above the impact zone in the North Tower escapes. - After the initial clouds of dust cleared, the lower half of the tower was seen to be still standing - almost fourty stories off the ground, however collapsed seconds later.
