Joel Inman GE NE RAL M ANA G E R A while ago I heard a very interesting question: “What would you do with $86,400 each and every day of your life?” Imagine you wake up every day with $86,400 in your bank account and every day, at the end of the night – it’s gone, whether you spent it or not. And then the next day you get another $86,400. You would do everything in your power to spend it, right?
Troy Hopper Secretary
Because you know the next day you’re going to get another $86,400. You’d make the best of it, right?”

But what this is really referring to is time… We all get 86,400 seconds each and every day. The important question is what do you do with that time. We all know it doesn’t carry over to tomorrow…so why waste it? Why not use every single second to do the things you want to and to spend it with the most important people in your lives? Don’t get me wrong, I know we all have responsibilities, but why waste the time we all have focusing on the unimportant things in life. Why not make every effort to utilize those 86,400 seconds a day to make once in a lifetime memories that you can look back upon and smile? Times that your family will remember and hold close to their hearts their entire life. That’s what it’s all about…take the time to make an impact on those closest to you and enjoy the time we have because, like the $86,400, at the end of the day it’s gone.

he mask mandate was lifted on Friday, May 28th and the energy in the club that night was electric! It was great to see all your smiling faces in the Pub and it is starting to feel like 2019. Now that most of the restrictions have been eased, we are gearing up for some awesome events for the remainder of the year. Keep an eye out for upcoming events in our Tuesday weekly email and on our Facebook page. All event registrations are done on our mobile app so please make sure you have the app downloaded. Follow instructions on this page.
Many of you have questions about the pool, particularly if reservations will be necessary. We will not require members to make a reservation for the pool and cabanas will be first come, first serve. Reservations will only be needed on holiday weekends--Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day as we have in previous years. The pool hours are 10 am to 9 pm and will be open weekends only until Father’s Day (June 20th). From June 21st, the pool is open seven days a week. If you are new to the club, I encourage you to attend our monthly New Member Orientation. Meet the Team leaders in each department and learn all the ins and outs of membership while enjoying complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. It is also a great way to meet other members who have recently joined. Our next orientation is June 19th at 5 PM and registration can be made on the app under “Upcoming Events”. Looking forward to a great summer season at LCCC.

he weather has been tremendous for golf so far, and we hope you are enjoying your time at the course! May was a busy month full of Fitting Experiences, Women’s GAP Matches, Men’s single day events, and junior golf. As we move into the summer, I want to highlight our Ladies 30&3 Program. Ladies 30&3 takes place every Tuesday all summer long, except June 1st, August 10th and 17th. This series is designed for the beginner golfer and offers approximately 30 minutes of instruction and three holes of golf on the course. Clinics include a welcome cocktail and dinner following golf. The cost is $40 per session and starts at 530pm, sign ups are on the App. This is a fun and relaxing evening and we hope you can make it! Special Congratulations are in order! Our very own Director of Instruction David Quinn is competing at the Senior PGA Championship at Southern Hills in Tulsa, Oklahoma! David qualified through the National Senior Club Professional Championship. Also congratulations to our high school golfers for qualifying for the NJ High School Tournament of Champions (State Finals). Their teams did not qualify, so they had to finish Top 5 in their section individually to advance. Congrats to Nathan, Matt Normand, Tyler Smith, Bobby Dominy, and Kian Canelas! Very Impressive! Trackman is now available at Laurel Creek! Reach out to a member of the golf staff and we can do custom fittings, lessons, or just a quick demo to show you your numbers.
LCWGA Last year at this time we were dreaming that maybe we would have some kind of season and this year we are full in!! Despite the fact that we have some snowbirds who are not back yet, attendance has been great and we look forward to a terrific season! The LCCC Women’s Golf Team of Philadelphia (WGAP) placed 2nd in their cup after losing a close match at Lookaway. Next year they look forward to having Moorestown Field Club in their cup. The first Jersey Girls match is May 26 at Medford Lakes. The next match is at Laurel Creek on June 15th. Please contact Christine Blessing at blessinggolfs@gmail.com if you are interested in playing. It is a stableford event and you do not need to be a member of the LCWGA. All of the first rounds of the President’s cup have taken place and the second round needs to be completed by July 18th. The Secretary’s cup matches will start June 2nd and the first round needs to be completed by June 29th. All LCWGA members please remember to find a partner for our member/member event which will be played on 6/23 and 6/30. If you can only play one week you can still participate for the weekly prizes. The first 9-hole Invitational will be on June 8th at Ramblewood. Sign-ups are in the locker room. Don’t forget to check out the Twilight golf events. The second one is June 25th and is open to all members.

id you know that there’s a country club in Sydney, Australia, where one would not be allowed to play golf while wearing black socks with black shoes? If you want to stay and play, you need to buy white socks from the club itself or leave immediately. You already know where this is going, right? Our dress code here at LCCC. Though we aren’t as strict as that club down under, we have a dress code for you and your guests to follow. The biggest dress code violations that I have noted are: hats on while dining, t-shirts and sports jerseys in the clubhouse, and shirts that are not tucked in. The dress code upholds an image and a tradition at Laurel Creek. It’s never fun to have to speak to any member or their guests about their attire. We want you, our members, to be cognizant of the dress code and pass it along to any guests that you have coming to the club. Below is a great reference guide for what is acceptable and unacceptable attire here at LCCC.

ith a record number of rounds, the cart traffic is taking its toll, particularly in the “pinch points” coming off tees and approaching greens. We have started aerifying these areas to reduce compaction, and will be continuing this process around the course, as long as the weather is conducive to turf recovery.
Often times, we will aerify about half of a high traffic area, rope it off for a week or two while it recovers, then aerify the other half. Much like painting the Golden Gate Bridge, this will be “lather, rinse, repeat”--by the time we finish a loop around the course, we’ll need to start over.
