Don’t Let Time Fly By Without Making Memories!

They say time flies when you’re having fun, and while that might be true, we believe in making every moment count – whether you’re laughing, singing, or simply savoring the company of loved ones. As we step into spring, we invite you to join us for a series of unforgettable events that promise to create lasting memories.

Exciting Events Ahead

Our calendar is brimming with excitement, starting with two nights of dueling pianos – a member favorite that promises laughter and lively tunes. Secure your spot for Saturday night, and get ready to sing along to your favorite hits for a fun-filled evening.

March brings even more delights, including our spring Wine Show and the cherished Mother & Daughter Tea. With Easter approaching, mark your calendars for the bunny brunch on March 24 and a special Easter Sunday brunch to celebrate the season.

Calling all Swifties! Get ready to dance the night away at our Taylor Swift Dance Party on Saturday, April 13th. Bring your sparkles and friendship bracelets as we groove to Taylor’s iconic tunes – just remember, this is Eagles territory so please, no Chiefs gear!

Open to Guests

All these fantastic events, including the Swift Dance Party, are open to guests so feel free to invite friends and family to join in the fun. Registration will soon be available on our mobile app for your convenience.

Share the Experience

As we eagerly anticipate the summer months ahead, we invite your friends to become part of the Laurel Creek family. If you know someone interested in membership, simply send me their name and I’ll be delighted to extend a personal invitation for a private tour of our club.

Gratitude and Warm Wishes

Thank you for your unwavering support throughout the year. Your enthusiasm and participation make our club community truly special. We can’t wait to create more unforgettable moments together in the coming months.

LCCC Welcomes our newest member, Sofia Bruno!

Bob Hennefer

DIRECTOR OF GOLF

We are busy planning another exciting season and wanted to provide you with a few programs that we hope you will find valuable. We will be uncovering our greens the week of March 11th and an email went out about the process and expectations.

How will the greens perform?

When we first uncover them, even though they’ll still show signs of recovering, they will be playable. Our Grounds Department has been mowing them regularly and have been rolling them as well to get them ready for play in the Spring.

Overall, the greens should be in pretty good shape when scores can start being posted again in April. Of course, the real benefit of this will be seen all season long.

This season we’re excited to debut our new fleet of Yamaha Golf Carts. This new fleet will continue to have GPS, faster speeds and we’re adding a few new customized features. This new fleet will have extra wide, premium seats and they’ll also be equipped with Lithium batteries. This will make the golf carts more comfortable, ride lighter, and more durable. We will also have the capability to slow the entire fleet down so on days where we may not have carts available, we may be able to let carts out. We hope you enjoy these upgraded features and are comfortable in our new fleet of golf carts during your round.

Unlimited Cart Program Details:

Starting in 2024, golf cart fees for 18 holes will be $32 plus tax and $20 for nine holes plus tax. The Unlimited Cart Program allows you to prepay for all your cart rounds for the 2024 season. Registration for the Unlimited Cart Program must take place before March 31st, 2024. This can be paid as one lump sum, or we can split the payment between January, February, and March.

Unlimited Carts Single: $1,920

Unlimited Carts Family: $2,560

LCWGA

Snow

on the ground; cold wind blowing but thoughts of warm and sunny skies, lush fairways and manicured greens are ever present!! So, welcome to the 2024 Golf Season at LCCC! The Laurel Creek Women’s Golf Association (LCWGA) has been busy with off-season events as well as the planning of many future fun events and tournaments for 2024. The Hospitality Committee spearheaded by Susan Schaming Odegard and Maryann Stack hosted a December holiday gathering filled with food, fun and cheer. A February “Ladies Night Out” at Top Golf enjoyed by 14 ladies was a huge success (who says you can’t golf in the winter!?!) In addition, outreach to prospective women golfers and new 2024 women golf members will be a month of March priority and there will be an event at LCCC to acquaint them with our Golf Association. An email with invitation and full details to all LCWGA members will be forthcoming so make sure you join the association which can be done by online registration through the LC app. For further information contact one of the Membership Chairs (Lynne Demmerly, lldemmerly@aol.com; Eileen Burke, gcbdo@comcast. net; Anita Albright, AAlbright02@comcast.net; or Kelly Redkay, Kellyanneredkay@hotmail.com). Registration forms can also be found in the ladies’ locker room.

Festivities at the club begin on Tuesday April 9th at a Cocktail Party at 6 pm (potential members are welcome) where you can meet fun ladies, enjoy great conversations, eat some yummy hors d’oeuvres, drink a cocktail (or two) and learn more about ladies’ golf at Laurel Creek. Opening Day (must be a member to play) is a Nine Hole Step Back Scramble on Wednesday April 10th followed by lunch and a brief annual meeting. Thereafter, both Nine Holers and Eighteen Holers play tournaments on Wednesdays from April-October 23, 2024 (Closing Day). A Tournament Booklet (filled with lots of information about Wednesday tournaments as well as other events) is distributed to all. Many ladies stay for lunch after playing so a round of golf paired with a friendly meal is a great way to spend a Wednesday! Other opportunities for ladies’ golf at LC include: Nine Hole Invitationals and Match Play both at LC and other local clubs, tournament play through Women’s Golf Association of Philadelphia (WGAP), Jersey Girls League, Moorestown Cup, Solheim Cup and Trenton District (new this year!) Stay tuned for more information on all the above or email Julie Knowles (rjknow@comcast. net) about the Nine Hole events or Christine Blessing (blessinggolfs@gmail.com) about the other events.

Lots of fun golf to attend but remember that only ladies with full golfing privileges can play in golf events/tournaments. So, include your application and dues by Friday March 15th to be listed in the Tournament Booklet. Application and dues are to be sent to Angela Rekant, Treasurer (agrekant@ yahoo.com).

Interested in improving your game? Think about attending Skills Clinics on Thursdays and Sundays taught by our Golf Pros beginning Thursday April 4th-May 5th, 2024. Or join “Sip and Swing” on Tuesday evenings. It begins with a group lesson outside, then moves “inside” for dinner and drinks. You will surely leave the club a better golfer and feeling great. And the best news is that these two activities are open to ALL lady golfers (full golfing privileges, social and house member golfers.) Excited to promise you a great year! Hope you will join in that excitement! See you at the club.

Live, Laugh, Golf!

2 tbsp flour

1 tsp chopped thyme

2 tsp chopped parsley

1 cup chicken broth

Mashed Potatoes:

1 pound Idaho potatoes, peeled and cubed

¼ cup half and half

2oz butter

John Slade

DIRECTOR OF GOLF COURSE OPERATIONS

If you haven’t been on the course yet this year, you might be surprised to see rubber matting installed on some cart path ends and tee walk-ups. These high traffic “pinch points” take a beating from both carts and feet. Increased levels of play over the past few years have exacerbated this issue.

In an effort to improve these areas, we have placed “TraqMatz” and “TraqRollz” in several locations throughout the golf course. Prior to installing the mats, these aeras were rototilled to de-compact them, had an amendment incorporated into the soil profile, and new sod added.

The Traqmatz products have been on the market for several years, and are being used used at many clubs, with positive results. While they are quite visible at the moment, once the turf grows through them, their appearance doesn’t really jump out at you.

In the past, we have tried other products which claim to be the answer for high traffic situations. However, to date, most of these have not lived up to their claims. While only time will tell, we are cautiously optimistic that Traqmatz will work well.
