The Ryan Kanost Student Volunteers of the Year This award is to recognize students who have demonstrated exemplary service to the hospital during their time as a volunteer. It is named after a former LMH student volunteer, Ryan Kanost, who passed away in September 2006. The award honors Ryan’s spirit of volunteerism: his positive attitude, willingness to help, and appetite to learn. NIRALI PATEL. Nirali began volunteering in August 2016 as a junior volunteer. Since she started, she has served in many departments, including Escort, the Family Birthing Center, 3 West and currently Neurology Specialists. In total, she has given almost 280 hours of service to LMH Health. Nirali has touched the hearts of many people here at LMH Health. She is always cheerful, willing to learn new things and is self-motivated to help with anything needed of her. EMMA YACKLEY. Emma started volunteering in June 2015 as a junior volunteer. Since starting, she has helped in many departments, including the Laboratory, Surgery, 2 North, 2East/ICU, Cardiac Rehab, the 4th Floor Acute Rehab Unit, the Pain Management Clinic and, most recently OrthoKansas. In total, she has given almost 205 hours of service to LMH Health. Emma has been a dedicated and hardworking addition to our volunteer program! LUCY ZUO. Lucy began volunteering in July 2016 as a junior volunteer. She has helped in many different departments and is always happy to help out in a pinch with projects any given day. She has assisted the 4th Floor Acute Rehab Unit, the Laboratory, Mario’s Closet, the Gift Shop, Escort, 2East/ICU, Admissions and most recently, the Pain Management Clinic. She has given over 200 hours of service to LMH Health. Lucy is always positive and helpful, with a kind word to share.
