During my studies I have worked as a freelance professional in collaboration with architectural offices and individual clients. My services usually included the digital and three-dimensional representation of architectural projects. My interests lie in the implementation of modern technology in architecture and urban design. At the drawing/planning stages, through parametric design software, BIM and collaborative design applications. This is a proposal to re-use the 2004 Olympics’ building infrastructure in Kallithea. A main element of the study was to provide solutions for existing infrastructure problems, the study of the visual connection to and from the roof of the complex, the extension of the existing grid and the creation of a form that gives distinct aesthetic to the building and the surrounding area. The final proposal consists of small-scale interventions inside the buildings, a system of shades along the building that draw a linear path and create new spaces, five squares with separate activities, a variety of new functions and technology oriented activities, connected through a main path.

The church and monaster y of “San Tommaso” are the property of the University of Pavia. Following the university’s decision, the cells will be used as halls and classrooms and the church will be converted into a university librar y. For this transformation, the intent of building a semi-permanent interior tension system is inspired by the REM Koolhaas’s Bordeaux home and Aldo Rossi’s Teatro del Mondo. Keeping a small distance from the shell of the temple a vertical grid of metal wires lifts the surfaces that form the staircase and shelves. The levels of the space are designed so as not to hide the true height of the temple and the magnificent view of the hall

The ruins of ancient Athens are at a depth of 5 meters from today’s street level. At this depth lies the true volume of the museum. The tour of the open museum reminds of a walk through the streets of the city itself. Walking into the archeological park and following one of the paths that Plato and his disciples walked on centuries ago, a glade is revealed. From there the visitor enters the museum taking a dive in histor y, and then emerges into a spot of the park overlooking the modern city of Athens. The vibrancy of the park and the secret nature of the underground museum coexist and complement each other.

1ST HALL MUSEUM ENTRANCE The entrance to the museum is located in the center of one of the park’s clearings. Right next to the reception desk is the strairs where the descent to the exhibition areas of the museum starts.
The first hall is designed for medium and small sized exhibits. 1ST HALL SECTION

2ND HALL The second and largest hall is designed for the exhibition of statues and large objects. It is located beneath the central square of the park and is visually connected through skylights.
OBSERVATORY MUSEUM EXIT In the area that leads to the exit of the museum are exhibited flat objects and frescoes. The end of this staircase leads to an observatory overlooking the city through the another clearing. EXIT SECTION

In the design of a museum of modern art, and in particular installation art, a question of significance is what is the role of a museum beyond the sheltering of exhibits. The shape of the museum results from an experimentation between vacuum and full. The public - empty space of the square is surrounded by the exhibition and auxiliar y spaces of the museum. Accordingly, the design of the perimeter uses of a square shapes the circulation of the square and enhances its functionality.

The following drawings are part of the study of the modernization of the Folklore Museum of Corinth. The study envisions changing the main entrance with the addition of a windshield, redesigning the ground floor for digital educational programs, changing the South Facade, and adding a lift to improve vertical traffic inside the building.

The first step in designing the school of viticulture and winemaking in Rio was the decision to create an artificial slope on the west side of the plot. The benefits of this formulation are the protection of the vines from the strong west winds and the improvement of the quality of the grapes due to the angle of the soil. This side is split to create the central entrance. The design of the building is circular and features a continuous path with a planned tour route for visitors. Parts of the building extend to the north and south sides of the plot such as the underground parking lot and host rooms located on the outdoor corridor leading to the coastline.

The design process for this pavilion started with the study of Andrea Palladio’s architecture and analyzing the use of proportion in floor plans and the repetition of specific geometric shapes. In an experimentation process, these points are cut off from the ground plan, re-read as new forms and reconnected. The result of this game is a new spatial composition. Resolving this form as an exhibition pavilion results in the final building. The pavilion has a strong visual connection to the environment and contains many easily adaptable spaces.

For the offices of Physiomart in N. Ionia we designed meeting rooms, offices and a show room. With a focus on promoting and maintaining the aesthetics of the company. The sections are separated by glass and glass blocks to create the feeling of a single bright space. In this configuration the auxiliar y spaces are discreetly concealed despite their original location directly in of the front entrance. Additionally the facade is also redesigned and new openings, for natural lighting, are added.

Designing a home for the protagonists of the movie Kitchen stories. In this hypothetical exercise, the home of the three elderly Scandinavian gentlemen sits on top of one of the rocky cliffs located in Nattaro Island, in the Stockholm archipelago. It is a home for three people who are desperately seeking companionship while at the same time being unable to stop shutting themselves off and pushing others away. and acute. As the waves ,over the years, would soften the surface of three rocks in an isolated island, on the contrar y, time makes isolated humans harder and sharper.

Apartment units, Common spaces, yard, terrace. This apartment building is designed to accommodate university students. It contains apartments for one or two residents. On the ground floor there is a lounge room and auxiliar y spaces for the occupants. On the first floor there is a communal living room and reading spaces. The pattern of the apartments is repeated through all the floor levels. The building is connected to the street on the ground floor and to the neighbouring square on the third floor, with a staircase, ramp and elevator.

The proposal for the alternative education center was designed by the Adamopoulos -Skaltsa Architectural Office. For a more detailed presentation of this space a digital tour was created around and through the building through a simple application. The user has the option to move freely, follow any of the recommended auto-tours, or visit only the sites of his choice. The three-dimensional model of the spaces is presented in a comprehensive way, from the selection of materials to the furnishings.

The Lamberti Square is located in the city of Venegono. Underneath the square there is an underground car parking lot and around the square there are many small shops. The main idea when redesigning Lamberti Square was to incorporate the concrete wall with different uses. The boundaries of the square are transformed into seating ramps, corridors and play areas. The square is divided into three levels with different types of planting depending on the height of the plants and the use provided for each level.

A multimodal station for the city of Patras should serve the train and intercity bus services. The biggest challenge in designing such a building is to connect the scale of the city ship and the train. The urban fabric of the city expands to the sea creating a new grid while an elongated commercial area twists into the waiting areas and departures of the station. The piers are organized according to the size of the boats they receive and there is space for the parking of smaller boats.

In this research paper, the concept of smart cities is being approached historically, in comparison to preceding concept, such as digital cities, and in relation to the existing stages of smart cities from the 1990s until today. It is also reviewed in a conceptual approach in order to clarify the definition of a smart city. After that, follows a quick analysis of the methodology and the approaches of the design process for smart cities. This paper also focuses on the main social trends affecting smart cities and the contemporar y urbanism and the evaluation of smart city proposals that have been implemented in Greece.

The Villa Cornaro is a building of early Mannerism designed by the Italian architect Andrea Palladio for the Cornaro family , of Venice, and is located on the outskirts of Vicenza. It was one of the first “vacation homes� of the time. Palladio often refers to the ratio he used to design the rooms of the building in his writings. From marble columns and ellipsoid stairs to elaborate frescoes, this building reflects the economic power of Venice at the end of the Renaissance. In the process of this study we created a digital and an actual model of the building in addition to several drawings.

The shades design is inspired by the repetitive Esser motifs. Using a rhombus and repositioning it with a different angle creates a perpetual surface. The mechanism that drives the shade to open is based on a system of cables connected to the surfaces at their backside, by pulling the cables the sides of the surfaces are pulled and twisted open. This construction can work as an horizontal or a vertical shade and with a variety of material choices. For the purposes of structural testing, in the physical model of vertical construction (scale 1:10) a motor is controlling the motion. The motor is also connected to a light-sensitive sensor as an example of automation in use.
