AFTERSCHOOL KIDS’ CLUB

Ages 3 – 12

May 3 - Comic Book Day: Comic themed fun.

May 10 - Mother’s Day DIY: Make prints with flowers and decorate a wooden flower picture frame.

May 17 - Rocking Rainbow Fish: Make a colourful fish crafts with weaving and mosaics techniques.

May 24 - Museum Week Mysteries: Explore how museums work and what can be found at the local museum. This week will be two hours from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.

May 31 - Photography Week: Crafts and activities to help little ones learn about photography.

June 7 - Bees and Blooms: Make cute DIY bees and use recycled materials to make sunflowers.

June 14 - It’s All Going to the Birds: A variety of bird crafts and activities.

June 21 - DIY Coasters and Keychains: Design and create using perler beads!

June 28 - Get Ready to Dive in: This week our activities prepare for the Summer Reading Program!

3d Comic Book Canvas

Wednesday, May 3 – 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Ages 10+

Make a stunning pop-art piece! Participants will use recycled comic books and art techniques to make a collage with 3D action word callouts that pop off the canvas. This is recommended for older children who will have fun playing with the images and colours, it can also make a striking art piece for a teen’s bedroom or a fun and sophisticated addition to an adult’s living space. Play with the words and images to tell a unique story, make a mash-up of favourite comics or dabble with layering images and comic bubbles for some whacky wordplay or situational humour.
