A Last Word from the Head of School
SO THEN, BROTHERS, STAND FIRM AND HOLD TO THE TRADITIONS THAT YOU WERE TAUGHT BY US, EITHER BY OUR SPOKEN WORD OR BY OUR LETTER.
- 2 Thessalonians 2:15
DEAR FRIENDS,
By the time you receive this issue of Impact, we will be well into the fall semester of on-campus learning. Although the pandemic has certainly changed many of our daily routines and caused us to modify a number of traditional events and activities, I’m proud to report that the Legacy community has risen to the challenges and is successfully navigating these uncharted waters. I am thankful for God’s providence over our school and grateful to the students, teachers, staff, and parents who are complying — willingly — with our safety protocols. Job well done, LCA community!
Despite the unpredictable environment in which we find ourselves, we continue to serve our students and families with outstanding programs and services. Research in neuroscience reveals that many bright students have one or more learning differences and that these require varying levels of support. In this issue of the magazine, you read about the history and development of the Legacy Learning Center (LLC), an essential service that benefits hundreds of students. Our LLC is providing just the right amount of encouragement for them to succeed in the academically rigorous program that LCA offers.
You also read about the many parent services hosted and offered by our Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF). I’m so pleased with its focus on equipping and supporting our parents to grow in their faith and expand their capacity to exercise their biblically ordained responsibilities. Our PTF puts much time and effort into building positive relationships among parents and teachers.
I hope you enjoyed reading about the impressive accomplishments of Dyllan Muller (Class of 2016). His story is indisputable evidence that LCA’s mission to “equip students to succeed in college and beyond” is being fulfilled. We’re proud of Dyllan and of the scores of other LCA alumni who are making a difference on their university campuses, in their professions, and in their communities. We look forward to exploring many more success stories in future issues of Impact.
During these uncertain times, you can be sure of one thing: The heart of Legacy is strong, reliable, and committed to preserving those values that make our school community so special.
Faithfully yours,
Bill McGee Head of School
