If you earn up to £16,009 a year you could choose to study a wide range of full and part-time courses without having to pay any tuition fees. This means you could potentially save thousands of pounds. It doesn’t matter what qualifications you already have, to study you just have to: Be in full or part-time employment Earn less than £16,009 (you will need to provide wage slips or your last self-assessment) Want to study a pre-entry, entry, level 1 or level 2 course You can choose to study more than one part-time course a year if you want to.

Welcome At Leicester College we offer a large choice of part-time courses. So whether you are looking for a course to learn something completely different and meet new people, or a course to enhance your employment choices and careers progression we have something for you. Courses, in subjects from accounting, beauty therapy, and computing, through to first aid, law, plumbing and teacher training. are available. And, study options range from short master classes, to courses running over a few weeks and year long courses. You need to be at least 19 to study on most courses, but many hobby courses don’t require any previous qualifications or experience.
If you are looking to gain key qualifications, such as maths and English GSCEs or Functional Skills courses run throughout the year, and these are usually free. If you earn less than £16,009 a year you may be able to study a range of courses – up to and including level 2 courses – without having to pay any tuition fees*. Additionally, if you are in receipt of certain benefits, including Job Seekers Allowance, Universal Credit and Employment and Support Allowance you may be able to study for free. * You must be 19 or older on 31 August 2019. Tuition fees remission is subject to eligibility criteria.
