Meissen

Founded in 1983, MacKenzie-Childs was born from a commitment to fresh, innovative design and a love for handcrafted home decor. Its headquarters sits on a tranquil Victorian farm overlooking Cayuga Lake in Aurora, New York, where its artisans work to imagine and produce its signature, hand-painted ceramics. While the company started here and still produces some of its fine pieces in New York, they also collaborate with best-in-class manufacturers around the world to create colourful and eclectic home accessories, enamelware, glassware, and furniture. Often inspired by nature, vintage patterns, people near and dear to the brand, and travel — its mission is to add beautiful, quality products into users’ everyday routine, making every day extraordinary.

Ever since its foundation in 1710, the porcelain manufactory Meissen has been the embodiment of unique handcrafted and exclusive aesthetics. Internationally, Meissen is one of best-known German brands, immediately recognisable by the crossed swords, the first trademark filed in Germany. Today, it’s still hand-painted on to each piece. Due to its more than 300-year history, the company archives are an incredibly rich source for manifold inspirations in forms and colours. With over 700,000 models and casts, Meissen has the largest and oldest mould archive in the world. With the unique Meissen know-how built up over centuries, precious pieces of art and table decorations are brought to life by experienced artisans. Every piece is a symbol for exclusivity and executed to the best quality. Once present in every European palace, Meissen porcelain now adorns some of the most luxurious locations globally. Meissen returned to Ambiente 2016 and will be showing again at Ambiente 2018 with an even bigger stand.

Nude

Starting out as a pottery in 1735, Niderviller is one of the oldest potteries still in business and is especially well-known for its luxury antique black earthenware collections, both tableware and decorative pieces, all of which are handmade in the same way they have been made for nearly three centuries. It is also known for its winter season collections. New items or old re-visited ones are launched every year and are presented at the Maison & Objet, Paris, and at Ambiente.

Launched in 2014, with a mission to design and create beautiful collections of lead-free crystal glass objects, Istanbul-based global design brand Nude is the creator of contemporary glassware for modern living. With its ethos ‘simple is beautiful’, Nude looks at life through the lens of simplicity; de-cluttering and distilling, marrying form with function. Ranging from expertly-crafted decorative objects and statement tableware to softlyshaped lighting, Nude’s vast portfolio is designed by leading international talents and continuously honoured with industry accolades including the Red Dot, Wallpaper Design, German Design and IF Awards. Nude transcends the traditional boundaries of glassware treating the whole home as one sensuous and pleasurable space. Attention to detail is paramount – its prevalent signature subtle curvature of many of its pieces set it aside. Nude is at the forefront of innovative ideas and works to develop dynamic collaborations with a roster of artists and designers, including Ron Arad and Nigel Coates. Nude also works with an extensive network of design talent including: Studio Formafantasma, Tomas Kral, Defne Koz, Joe Doucet, Markku Salo, Inga Sempé, Ayşe Birsel, Ali Bakova, Pentagon Design, Tamer Nakışcı and Erdem Akan.
