“We established The Gold Coast in 2004 because of the lack of places that could provide quality African food and entertainment in the same building. West African food at it’s finest Gold Coast Foods - The Story In October 2009, three of the entrepreneurs, William and Francesca Quagraine (original founders of The Gold Coast restaurants and bars in South London) and Dora Hanson-Amissah were invited on to BBC show Hairy Bikers where they cooked and passionately spoke about the virtues of West African cuisine and became, without doubt, one of the most famous participants on the show. They followed up by entering the product into the prestigious Great Tastes Awards, organized and sponsored nationwide in the UK by The Guild of Fine Foods and won a gold star award in their first attempt with their first product – The Original Chef’s Special Chilli Sauce.
