This multi-functional house is one of the three parts of the project. Part one is two-storey house: providing shortterm accommodation, occasional use of activities / parties for guests who keep coming on a regular basis. Part two is home studio: at the lower level used for recording and music production while upper level functions can be switched between a ballet studio and medium size photo studio. Part three is guest house: that can be function as a bar, hip restaurant or space for any other activities. The common space will be used to link and host various events from music gigs to open air cinema, but mostly, parties. Brutalism concept influences are evident in raw materials i.e. exposed concrete.

Bang Weak, located in the north-west of Bangkok, adjacent to the serene canal to the north and the owner’s brother’s house to the east. In 2011 this area was affected by the great flood and the seventy-year-old wood house was destroyed. However, some materials such as teak wood could be reused for the new house. The owner requested a flexible outdoor space and no air-conditioning. Also the house should be accommodated with culture factors. All of those are specific requirements for creating suitable design.

The criteria given by the owners for designing House Khao Loy were that it should be simple, basic, straightforward and easy-going. Natural material were prepared so the indoor and outdoor spaces would have good relationships. The house must provide natural ventilation and natural light as well as surrounded by trees. Moreover, tยบhe whole project should be complete with idea of low cost and low maintenance in the long run.

WEST ELEVATION
The house belongs to the family of the architect. The family consists of sister and father. All lives full-time in Bangkok and plan to use the house as weekend home for themselves, relatives and friends for the time being with possibility of living at this house permanently if situation calls for. The family likes this project for several reasons. The most convincing reason is that the site is only about 2.5 hours driving from Bangkok. The area is quite safe from both flood and earthquake, the plot is large, and a lot of empty plots around help keeping quietness and peaceful atmosphere and that the project seems to attract low-keyed and easy-going types of people.

Nested in a private residential neighborhood of Bangkok, House KT is oriented towards the canal at the back and a garden at the front. Activities are simply divided into two groups, “private” and “public.” However, a clear line never exists as both the garden and the canal allow both parts of activity anytime. Designing this house is a task of transforming the place, merging different activities into a unified whole. The “public” space of the house integrates distinct settings into one ensemble: the kitchen area, the space for dining, the living room and the study. Each is defined by its own equipment. The extended porches enveloping the spaces simply bind together the settings for various and interrelated activities.

Canalside garden and Samsen canal.
The climate has brought forth the design equipped with verandahs and porches enclosed with both aluminum screens and glass doors. This makes it possible for inhabitants to live both inside and outside the house, and also in the inbetween areas. Shadows for residing are produced by the brim of solid slab, under which daily domestic activities could unfold. As far as the Thais are still “Thais” and the climate had not changed, these designs are still applicable, no matter how traditional or “modern” the house appear. By means of open-air covered spaces, interior and exterior could be bound together.

This two-storey house has a unique massing concept as a "cave" house. It came from the owner's original requests to maximise space quality in terms of function and ecstatic. All main rooms need to be located on ground floor with light and ventilation yet still preserve privacy for the house. The challenge for this project is that owner would like to enjoy and be surrounded by greenery atmosphere even though the site is so small. Site constraint and owner's requirements then became the concept for the "cave" house. To preserve privacy but still allow light and ventilation into the house, the function mass was split into two solid caves, one at the front and another at the rear of the house. Both parts are closed area without views. The cave also act as a buffer, preventing outside noises. Private garden is located at the centre of the house.

Inspired by the desire of the owner who loves plants, we built a small house in the beautiful garden in the factory. The new house located among the factory area in the land that looks like a forest filled with shaded area and there are 6 pine trees grown near the fence as the back scene of the house. With such view, the open space is perfect for creating any activity.

Baan Nan, located not far from city and the airport of Nan, the reason for choosing. Baan Nan is the peaceful location close by their workplace, Nan Hospital. Moreover, this house is on the street and near Nan river. When the architect first visited the site, a voice came into his head; “a little house in the big woods”. This idea became the inspiration for a design concept: “the house and the forest are best friends and not disturb each other”. After discussing with the owners, the main concept of this house was determined as “a simple house in the natural forest”.

The White Box owner bought one plot of land next to their parent’s house. This community is not a new one, all houses were similarly designed by copy and paste. Bad ventilation has been one of the weak points. Thus, the owner asked the architect to design a dream house instead of buying one of those so called standard house. As the budget is limited, functional and useful spaces like any ordinary compact house are needed, however this onefamily house will need adaptation to be a complex for their parents and their kids in the future. The owner loved the house to have modern style box-look shape with good ventilation to prevent heat. The first requirement therefore, is two private spaces for two families (owner and their parents) connected by the main function area on ground floor.
