The church is coming out from a culture where the emphasis is on I, me, and my human rights. Focusing on our rights to the exclusion of our responsibility to each other manifests in the kind of society we live in. As the priesthood of all believers, we need to be reminded that we have come to Jesus as we are, however, we are not to just stay there.
When we call on God for His wisdom, He has promised to give wisdom generously to us all. He transforms our old attitudes to create a new society that manifests His character. His character can only be seen when we have intimate fellowship with one another in His grace and truth. We all have a part to play in this.
