Working with Sanderson on our collaboration has been a joy.
I have personally worked with the Sanderson brand for over 25 years and was delighted when we agreed that we would work together to create some exclusive wallpapers for Wallpaperdirect embracing all the beauty of the Sanderson designs with some exciting new colours.
Sanderson Exclusive Wallpaper Edit Collection Our first step was to select some of our favourite designs and with Rebecca Craig, Lead Designer at Sanderson, we went through some iconic designs as well as some of our favourites on fabric, which were not represented on wallpaper. We wanted to ensure we used some of the traditional printing methods that Sanderson use, particularly surface print, which give a wonderful feeling of depth and colour to the wallpapers as well as making them all paste the wall, something which certainly influences my choice of wallpaper, particularly if I am hanging it myself, which I really enjoy.

There are twelve wonderful designs in a range of colours, these are just a few of the highlights of the collection:
Hollyhocks – a wonderfully extravagant design on fabric has translated into beautiful wallpapers with a timeless, vintage look realised in elegant accents of French blue (as on our front cover) or the soft Whitstable blue background, which has been so popular on linen.
The rich Chinese yellow version of Caverley has a delightful Chinoiserie style inspired by an early 19th century hand-block print, and the Ebony/Coral version updates the design with exquisite contemporary colour.
We also were delighted to achieve this vivid Botantical Green colourway of the classic Etchings and Roses design together Wallpapers from £69 per roll

with some softer pink, ivory and pewter versions.
Another of our real favourite designs is the King Protea with its wildly floral pattern, inspired by an archive document but with an intensity of colour which gives it a stunningly modern look – as shown in this lovely bedroom setting.
For that perfect ‘blue skies’ feeling, with softer golds and greys, nothing beats the soaring romance of their serene 1930s Swallows design with the birds in their graceful aerial acrobatics set against a cloudless sky.
