news Digital Print UK: Cancelled The organisers of the Digital Print UK exhibition have announced that they will not be running the event this year, following the decision by several major brands not to exhibit. Rudi Blackett, Event Director, said: ‘’Our intention for Digital Print UK was always to make the exhibition a successful buying and lead generation event similar to Sign & Digital UK, but unfortunately in the current climate a number of major suppliers in commercial

digital print have decided to concentrate their focus and budgets on other routes to market at this time. This is borne out by some of the leading companies in the industry deciding not to exhibit at print events. This is particularly disappointing as we had a broad spectrum of exhibitors confirmed for the exhibition. We will continue to monitor the market in the future to see if the opportunity arises to

run an event for that market sector. In the meantime we will be focusing on our growing portfolio of events in the market sectors we currently serve.’’

Colorworld Imaging Continues as an Official MPA Trade Partner The Master Photographers Association has confirmed a continued Trade Partnership with Colorworld Imaging. Trade Partnerships are an initiative introduced last year by the Association due to a need in the photo industry for companies to work more closely with their suppliers to add greater benefits all round. Alex Brydon, Colorworld’s managing director said: “Colorworld Imaging is delighted

to be continuing to support the MPA and its members as we work extremely hard to provide high standards in the industry and this is echoed in the philosophy of the Association“ Chief Executive of the MPA, Colin Buck added: “We are delighted that Colorworld sees the potential to continue to work closely with our members. As an organisation dealing with professionals it is important that we work with suppliers at the

top of their field and Colorworld is a well respected established pro lab.” Other suppliers are invited to apply for Trade Partnership status. Please contact Linda Buck, company secretary, on 01325 356555 or email linda@mpauk.com

customers and this new design studio was created with them in mind,” said Damon Rando, president of MyPix2Canvas. “We pride ourselves not only on our product quality, but also on

our ease of use, and this new studio will improve the customer experience.” Improvements include automatic flagging-up of low resolution and high noise images.

Ilford to Distribute Kodak Epson Goes Back Proofing Media to School The University of Huddersfield has taken on four new Epson large-format aqueous inkjet printers to keep up with increasing demand within the School of Art, Design and Architecture. Explains George Stewart, IT Technician, School of Art, Design and Architecture Print Bureau: “We were already using Epson printers to print students’ course and degree show work. The printers were performing well and were easy to operate but we had to look at investing in more technology. Epson is a brand we trust and we had been very impressed with the printers’ reliability and costeffectiveness.” The School invested in two Epson Stylus Pro 7890 24-inch printers, one Epson Stylus Pro 7900 24-inch and an Epson Stylus Pro 9890 44-inch printer. Martin Johns, market development manager, proGraphics, Epson, says: “It’s good to see the students and staff at the university using the Epson Stylus Pro range of printers across a wide variety of media and applications. Not only do the printers offer first class colour and mono reproduction but they also represent a big boost in productivity and remain costeffective.”

From now on, Ilford will be the distributors of the full range of Kodak Matchprint Inkjet Proofing Media worldwide. Ilford, who are based in Switzerland, now offer one of the widest selections of optimised media in the graphic arts industry including products which meet international colour standards such as FOGRA, SWOP, and GRACoL. The media from Switzerland, Germany, and North America. Paul Willems, CEO commented: “Throughout the

history of our company, Ilford has been proud to provide customers with media that meets the highest demands for quality, consistency and performance. Obtaining the distribution license for the Kodak Proofing Media is an exciting move for us, as we are now able to meet these demands at the prepress stage of printing.” Kodak Matchprint media ranges from 240gsm to 120gsm including some double sided papers.

Fuji Ups Ink Production Fujifilm has announced the opening of its brand new digital ink manufacturing facility at its manufacturing plant in Broadstairs. The company’s investment in this state-ofthe-art facility, alongside an upgrade to its R&D department, highlights Fujifilm’s long term commitment to the wide format digital sector. The new digital ink manufacturing facility has been two years in planning and development. It has a footprint of 1800m2, and is built to accommodate a projected annual increase of 56% in the

production of UV ink at the site, manufactured in a range of batch sizes of up to 4000 litres. The facility has the capacity to manufacture 6000 tonnes of ink per year. Over 340 employees work at the Fujifilm Broadstairs site and over 80% of these are involved in digital ink R&D and manufacture. It was of utmost importance that the workforce should be included as much as possible in the company’s plans, resulting in over 80 employee ideas being used in the final design of the facility. www.fujifilm.co.uk

Konzept-iX GmbH will be responsible for all pre-sales, sales, deployment and support of the leading photobook and gift application. Konzept-iX GmbH develops, markets and integrates a range of software solutions for companies in the print, media and marketing industries. The company is one of the leading software integrators for print

and media services in Europe. Dianne Moralee, marketing director for Taopix, recently

instigated the appointment and agrees that Taopix Portfolio will be a good fit for the team at Konzept-iX GmbH. “The D-A-CH regions represent the biggest market for personalised photo in Europe and are still showing strong growth. Océ Arizona 360GT Brings a Splash of Colour to Beaulieu Attraction Océ, part of the Canon Group, has been part of A3M Designs Ltd’s work to enhance the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu. The Hampshirebased printer used its Océ Arizona 360GT to decorate one of the more popular children’s attractions at the museum Eight specially-printed, profile cut, di-bond graphics featuring cartoon characters and cars add a splash of colour to the surrounds of the children’s pedal car track. The 3-millimetre thick boards are proving popular with the young motorists, who have to navigate road junctions and traffic lights as part of the fun at

the popular New Forest attraction. A3M Designs is run by husband and wife team Linda and Ken Green in Farlington, near Portsmouth. The project was printed by the company using one of the world’s leading wide-format inkjet flatbed printers, the Océ Arizona 360GT, a machine capable of printing to virtually any substrate up to 48mm thick. Bridget Slevin, Head of Beaulieu Graphics Dept, comments: “These boards around the pedal car track have

to withstand plenty of wear and tear so the ink has to be robust and tough and suitable for all kinds of outdoor weather. We’ve been delighted with the results. Ken’s very helpful and now he’s got the Océ Arizona there’s a lot more scope for future projects.”

A black and white fine printing Masterclass with internationally renowned photographer and printer Tim Rudman wil take place 6th-7th July at Leeds College of Art. This practical workshop will explore intermediate and more advanced practical darkroom controls, with an informal mixture of theory, demonstration, hands-on practice with supervision and group discussion supported by handouts. Tim Rudman is an internationally renowned photographer-printer, who works exclusively with film and silver gelatine papers. His name is inextricably linked with the monochrome darkroom and in particular with the processes of toning and lith printing, in which he is regarded as the leading authority. His books on these processes are treasured around the world and are held largely responsible for the current popularity of these processes.

Finishing Solution Primera is offering a complete digital label production solution. The new digital finishing system is ideal for use with the CX1200e, but also suitable for use with other narrow web output engines. The FX1200e offers, in one single process, the ability to laminate, die cut, slit, rewind and remove the waste matrix. ArtSystems & Summa - M31 The Summa F series flatbed cutter is now an established solution for many print businesses that having invested in new generations of wide format printers in the last two years soon realised that they needed to boost their productivity across the whole of their print workflow. The joint Summa ArtSystems stand will have the F Series as its centre piece with the new routing tool module being put through its paces. The router module broadens still further the applications and print finishing capabilities of the F series. The new Summa S Class 2nd Generation will get its first UK show debut with its improved speed, media handling and connectivity. It represents the ideal cutter for print and cut applications. The flexibility that a separate vinyl cutter gives a print business will be demonstrated

and how it can improve the whole work flow for print and cut when driven by an ONYX rip. Banner Shop BannerSHOP specialises in large format digital print, providing an efficient reliable service with an extensive range of quality products at unbeatable prices. They will have a range of special offers available to show attendees, including Fully Printed Roller Banners with Stand and Bag starting at £19; Outdoor PVC Banners starting at £8 per sqm; Printed Wind Flags with Pole starting at £ 49. Coherent Inc, M10. Indoor signs are often produced by cutting out small letters or other shapes from acrylic sheets, and then affixing these cut pieces to a sign board with adhesive. Unfortunately, the traditional mechanical methods for performing this cutting have some drawbacks. But now, a new generation of CO2 laser based machining systems delivers the desired cost and quality characteristics to make them an attractive alternative for many sign makers. The CO2 laser is in many ways an ideal tool for acrylic cutting. Its infrared output is strongly absorbed by acrylics (even those which appear transparent), enabling it to rapidly cut by essentially melting and vaporising away material. CO2 laser cutting overcomes the main

14 InPrint

InprintIssue7.indd 14

25/04/2013 13:25

show preview

disadvantages of both mechanical and water jet processes. First, laser processing can deliver a variety of cut edge finishes, including a smooth, transparent edge which entirely eliminates any post processing. Also, laser cutting is substantially faster than other methods, especially when the time required for other post processing steps is included. Moreover, the focused laser beam produces a very narrow cut width, allowing the production of very sharp edges and angles, and fine features. Practical Laser Systems The Coherent OMNIbeam laser machining centre exemplifies the newest breed of automated tools for laser cutting of plastics (and even thin metals). Several models are available utilising different Coherent Diamond series CO2 lasers in the 150 W to 400 W range, with higher powers translating directly into faster cutting speeds (over 50 meters/minute at 400 W). The cutting bed of the OMNIbeam can accept material sheets of up to 1.2 m x 1.2 m, and can process acrylic sheets of up to 25 mm in thickness. GPT GPT will be showing the brand new GPT190s super-fast solvent printer, adapted by GPT to print high quality SA Vinyl at 24 sqmph and high quality banner at 38 sqmph, with faster modes in development. The GPT 190S incorporates double

print heads to deliver the additional speed and quality. Heavy duty roll feed, bulk ink system and a trough for typically unbacked mesh, are offered as optional extras to further enhance the offering. Also on the stand will be the latest Mimaki JV400 160LX 1.6m latex printer running full speed. Another new printer on the stand from Mimaki will be the UJF6042. An A2 LED UV cure flatbed printer, a larger version of the current UJF3042HG but with higher 1800dpi quality print (upto 150mm deep) alongside, will be its smaller brother, the UJF3042FX. GPT will also have information, videos & interviews on the new Mimaki JFX500 2131 UV cure flatbed printer, producing 65 sqmph of highest quality print, the forthcoming Mimaki JV400 SUV printer with its unique technology for the most robust ‘instant usage’ high quality print, and the rest of the Mimaki range of printer and cutters. GPT will also be showing the Epson and Canon range of products, laminators, RIP software from Shiraz and Wasatch, and a media centre. Grafityp UK Ltd Self-Adhesive vinyls for every type of application are available in the Grafitack and Graficast series which also includes the AutoFX range of special effect vinyl such as leather, metallic, aluminium and many more, ideal for vehicle wraps or for decorating household items and furniture. will be printed samples of the Grafiprint range of media again for all types of application, and they will also be used on the many printers around the stand. From Roland will be the desktop print & cut BN-20 VersaSTUDIO and desktop LEF12 UV Printers, Print & Cut machines in the VersaCAMM VS and SPi ranges and the new SOLJET Pro 4 XR-640 and the VersaUV Print & Cut machine. There will also be examples from the Mutoh ValueJet range. Making its debut appearance will be the new RX Series of vinyl cutters from GCC, available in four sizes, 61cm, 101cm, 132cm, and 183cm these plotters have advanced AASII contour cutting, multiple pressure pinch rollers for different medias and an auto cut-off feature.

ITC Industrial Tooling Corporation (ITC) will once again be launching a number of new innovations from its Stand K60, such as a new coating for the established 3061 Series for machining stainless steel and similar exotic materials, the extension of the market leading 180 Series of cutters and the 4071 Series of cutters for the machining and chamfering of foamex, plastic wood, MDF and additional abrasive materials. Other new product developments include the new 2041 Series. This incorporates an innovative geometry with enhanced wiper flats and polished flutes that improve swarf clearance. The result is exceptional surface finishes and the elimination of scouring type marks. For the customer, this reduces the requirement for secondary hand

“The TheMagicTouch introduce another significant innovation for the production of full colour transfers to decorate various sign products, garments and a vast range of non-textile applications” The RX Series joins the existing line up of vinyl cutters which include the Jaguar, Puma and Sable from GCC and the CAMM1 Pro series from Roland. Gripple! The multi award-winning manufacturer of wire joining and tensioning devices has a range of innovative signage suspension systems, which not only blend into their surroundings but also offer significant additional benefits. The standard Gripple Hanger range, coming in five load ratings, up to 325kg, are strong, versatile, simple and discreet. Redefining Consumer Space Darren Johnson, Regional Business Manager and Vice President, Retail Systems Solutions, Kodak presents his overview of the key trends affecting retail across Western Europe and their future implications If retail had only to overcome the latest European economic crisis, then it would be in better shape. Not to minimise the situation of many countries, far from it, but it remains the case that retail has lived through many recessions and emerged each time blinking and dazed but reborn as a healthy place for businesses to thrive. Winners and losers perhaps with some inevitable industry consolidation, but fundamentally a similar structure as ever there was. So what’s different this time? A congruence of factors has developed over recent years and now reached a tipping point in many countries. Currently there are more than forty thousand vacant shops in the UK, with a number of big-name casualties recently. The era of retailing that has been a staple for so many decades in Western European countries is undergoing a seismic shift in its structure, the way it markets products, transparency, pricing strategies, logistics, R&D, the delivery of experiences and customer engagement. Brands, retailers, channel partners and service providers alike must work together to redefine this space. For the winners untold riches, for the unprepared a painful demise. Like so many, I shop online from my computer and from my phone. Smartphone shopping will soon be ubiquitous. Technology which was a barrier for so long is fast disappearing as an issue – the trickle of data became a stream and now a

flood. The movement from 3G to 4G, from copper cable to fibre optic, from wired to wireless. In a few short years consumer space has increased by orders of magnitude to the multi-millions of touchpoints we see today. And it keeps growing. Does anyone really think it will slow down? “Buy anything from anywhere” will be the tagline for 21st century retail. Moore’s Law still holds firm for processing power, however much retail infrastructure may lag behind. The pace of change will quicken, not slow as we move towards 2020 and beyond. The implications of the technological leaps are huge and go well beyond mobility. If prices are not already transparent across retailers, they soon will be. And this transparency is all consuming – with social networks in their widest form nothing is hidden for long, from company ethics to product quality to customer complaints. The balance of power is shifting to consumers. The astounding growth of low cost information sharing means they now market to each other - through product ratings, discussion forums, Facebook groups, EWOM, blogs, the list goes on. Who do you trust most for buying advice? Who would buy a one star app? Answers to both questions are now defined by the impact of low cost information sharing and consumer power. To quote Jakeman (CEO Activision) “The irony is that while there have never been more ways to reach consumers, it’s never been harder to connect with consumers.” The way the industry approaches marketing is clearly changing too, but nowhere near fast enough. Globalisation may have made the world smaller, but in this matrix it’s the local

voice that resonates best. The potential to truly engage with our consumers in a way that was simply impossible five years ago appears within reach. Get it right and you would have reached marketing nirvana, get it wrong and the feedback can be visceral, raw and not for the fainthearted. Surrounded by this maelstrom of development sits retail. Searching for the right participation strategy, the right balance across the channels. What will be the purpose of retail space into the next decade, how quickly will things change? How can I best engage? One thing is for sure, the strategies of the past are as outdated as the

what’s the role of the store to become? Retail needs to provide a compelling reason for people to visit that goes beyond being a collection point or stacking and selling products. Experience will be the new currency for retail stores. Whilst the situation for retail may seem daunting and already there have been many abortive attempts by retailers, manufacturers and brands alike to embrace the new world, the mist is lifting and successful strategies for retail space, channel participation, consumer engagement and many other elements are emerging. Change of this kind brings the opportunity to

“To expect a shopper to visit a store to buy the same product as available through a host of potentially more convenient portals is a flawed approach” standalone shop. An omni-channel strategy is required which not only embraces, but sets the future. Shopping destination habits cannot be relied upon - to expect a shopper to visit a store to buy the same product as available through a host of potentially more convenient portals is a flawed approach. A participation strategy for online, mobile, tablet, net to retail is no longer optional, it’s table stakes. The store becomes the real world extension of your digital presence, but a digital presence you must have, correctly formatted and seamless across channels. And

leapfrog the competition, to develop customer loyalty like never before, to increase brand awareness, clinically target marketing and use brand ambassadors to spread the word. To create ecosystems that drive loyalty and repeat purchase and to change brand perception. Although it faces its own challenges, the photo market is well placed to thrive as retail changes. Pictures have an emotional weight that sets them apart – their power has extended to become the social currency. The opportunity to tap into the zeitgeist of the new world is huge.

Stylish INNOVAtion The biggest hit in the art market in recent years has been the gallery wrap. Hard-edged, impactful and undeniably stylish, gallery wraps make the perfect statement in the contemporary home, office and gallery, and the perfect product for a retailer to offer to today’s photo consumer You print it, you wrap it, you hang it – and everybody wants one! Once upon a time, making a gallery wrap, with stretcher bars, glue and staples, was a specialist’s job. It took time, expertise and it could be expensive – which explains why the fully patented JetMaster system has proved so popular. Tough, lightweight gallery wraps can be turned out in minutes, using just scissors and a cutting board. No special expertise is necessary. Sizing your image is easy using the online upload utility at www.jetmaster-systems.com. You can create edge effects with a few simple steps.

range of sizes from 5x5” up to 16x20”. New mini-wraps – the perfect way to create stunning themed sets of prints – have just been added to the range. The 5x5” and 5x7.5” wraps can be printed from a regular A4 desktop printer and the 8x8” and the 8x12” on an A3+ printer. When coupled with the specially developed JetMaster paper the Photo Wrap frame creates a product to rival traditional canvas wraps in only a few minuets. JetMaster paper has a formula that means it is extremely flexible and the coating does not crack when folding – meaning there is no risk of damaging your print when wrapping

“The JetMaster Photo Wrap is of significant value to the industry, a novel product providing new marketing opportunities, removing the need for outsourcing the stretching and fixing of canvases.” The base is a pre-cut, laminated self-adhesive board – no more messy spraymount, glue or foamboard. Simply press flat your print, trim and fold. No bubbles, no untidy corners, no staples and no hooks. A fully assembled JetMaster ‘gallery wrap’ is so light it can be hung from just one tack. The JetMaster Photo Wrap is of significant value to the industry, a novel product providing new marketing opportunities, removing the need for outsourcing the stretching and fixing of canvases. The JetMaster frame enables rapid assembly at the point of purchase, and therefore this unique product creates impulse sales opportunities and provides the print maker with valuable up-selling potential. The JetMaster Photo Wrap is available in a

Available for Inkjet printers in A4 and A3+ sheet and roll options as well as the newly developed JetMaster paper for Laser printers, available in sheets for use with most laser copiers. JetMaster Photo Panel Capturing and printing great images is one job but displaying them to best effect can seem another matter entirely. It can feel a step too far – but how much impact can a photograph truly make if it’s hidden from view? The JetMaster Photo Panel is a simple and effective way to display your photographs. a choice of two smart matte finishes in white or black. To prepare a print for display, lift the release liner, align the image and apply pressure using a roller. Trim edges as necessary, then hang or display using the stand provided. It’s really that simple. Photographers keep full control on how their images look and, at the same time can offer buyers a fashionable, take-home solution that is ready in minutes. JetMaster Direct Print Released to the market in 2012 the JetMaster Direct Print is an innovative way for users of flatbed UV printers to get involved with the gallery wrap market. A pre cut board with a UV optimised face paper on one side and adhsive on the other gives you the ability to fold the print into a canvas wrap straight off the printer or ship it flat to your custmer, saving on carriage costs and storage space.

launchpad LAY FLAT BOOKS BOUND TO IMPRESS

One Vision Imaging have launched a range of Lay Flat books named the ‘Impress Range’ “Most of the lay flat books on the market suffer from an inherent problem, a cut line or ‘gutter’ running through the double page spreads. Whilst much has been done to minimise this effect there is no question that a line of any sort running through a brides face or a portrait of any kind is both unsightly and unwanted.” One Vision’s Lay Flat option promises a completely seamless page with the image running continuously through it thanks to some revolutionary finishing techniques. The covers are finished with a very smooth tactile laminate, enhancing the overall feel of the book. There is also a choice of 10 colours in a ‘hessian’ style material for the spine and back. ILFORD INTODUCE NEW CANVAS MEDIA Ilford is expanding its Omnijet range of commercial wide format offerings with the introduction of three new professional canvas products. launchpad A REVOLUTION IN ALUMINIUM PRINTING

Traditional printing and engraving suffers two fatal flaws; printing photo-quality images is near impossible and, in order to engrave a sign, the surface material needs to be soft and is therefore susceptible to damage and wear. As part of their revolutionary new service, Meface has both bases covered in what is being hailed as the most important development in signage and nameplate printing for a decade. Using the unique process of anodised aluminium printing, the company is able to transfer high-definition imagery directly onto a surface that is almost indestructible and resistant to weather, temperatures, fire and vandalism. “Anodised Aluminium has a protective aluminium oxide layer added using electrolysis. This process forms a hard anodised layer of aluminium which offers superior heat, chemical and abrasion resistance. The anodised layer will accept pigments, integrating the graphics into the surface creating a superior nameplate or sign,” says Victoria Titova, the company’s Creative Director, “Photo quality images and graphics can then be printed into the unsealed oxide layer using colour dyes via special anodised aluminium printer. The printing pores are then closed in a fixation process, protecting the dyes from outside influences.” Aside from its immediate benefits, the final product is also fully-protected from mechanical abrasion (scratches), solvents and even graffiti – with foreign colour easily wiped off using any store-bought paint thinner. Free samples are currently available to interested parties.

KENRO OFFERS NEW SPACE-SAVING SOLUTIONS FOR RETAILERS

R I

Leading frame and album distributor, Kenro, has launched two new point-of-sale stands for retailers to display a comprehensive range of products in a space efficient manner. Manufactured from strong metal, one model has been designed for large poster frames whilst the other is for medium photo frames. Both stands have a black finish and are extremely versatile, meaning retailers can help maximise choice for customers without compromising on space. Commenting on the new stands, managing director Paul Kench said: “Retail space is always at a premium so we set about designing these two new stands very much with the retailer in mind, they have been designed to enable shops with restricted floor space to display a good range of Kenro products within a small footprint. Our frames offer retailers great profit margins and I’m sure the two stands will help push frame sales.”

According to “Entrepreneur Magazine’s Ultimate Guide to Pinterest for Business” by Karen Leland, the social bookmarking site that allows users to create a visual, online pinboard with images around topics of their choice is the fastest growing social media site in history, and now the third-largest network after Facebook and Twitter. It has more than 25 million members and 10 million unique visitors a month — and it can be “a valuable source of prospects, promotion and profits.”

“Great business brands are about telling compelling, congruent stories, and Pinterest is at its core about storytelling in pictures,” Leland says. “Pinterest has tapped into this visceral lover of visuals, and no small business, entrepreneur or corporation can afford to miss the boat on bringing what they offer beyond words and into images.”

Check out today’s announcements from my boss Jim Esp and our president, Allen Showalter: “As of April 23, we have more than 5,000 attendees registered — and thus far, we have only rolled out the first phases of our massive marketing campaign,” said PMA executive director Jim Esp. “We have not yet even begun the major push of the campaign — TV and radio ads. The Big Photo Show, we are on track to reach, or surpass, our expected 20,000 attendees.” PMA president Allen Showalter added: “We are

thrilled with the response of photo enthusiasts and advanced amateur photographers in Southern California to The Big Photo Show. They clearly recognise the fantastic event we have put in place – with top-notch education from renowned pros, exciting live-model photo shoots, the newest innovations and equipment from major manufacturers and retailers, the most creative new ways to display images, and so much more – and they are eager to be a part of it. Registrations are pouring in very quickly, and that will only increase as the biggest part of the marketing campaign supporting the event begins.” www.thebigphotoshow.com

Printed! Each issue, InPrint calls a UK printing business to bring you the essential information about life on the front line of our trade and prints the results. This issue, our spotlight falls on Simon Smith, Managing Director of CS Labels. So, you’ve just wrapped up your financial year... how’s business? It’s been our best year yet in terms of growth, innovation and leadership in the digital labels market. We’ve basically grown from a small screen print outfit into one of the most successful family owned digital label printers in Europe. How have you managed that, then? We’ve been very bold by investing in innovative equipment, introducing fresh ways of working and not being afraid of getting stuck into forward-thinking technologies. There are various challenges with digital print and our knowledge means we are able to specify quality solutions for our customers. We also have a strong commitment to continuing professional development, maintaining a high level of digital print skills within the business. What real-term changes have been made? We’ve increased our office space by 100%, and

our printing capacity by 50%. We’ve created six jobs in digital printing, digital finishing, graphic design, and sales support roles. We’ve invested heavily in equipment, including a Third Xeikon digital label press (wide format) – now we have five presses altogether - and new equipment to manufacture peel and reveal labels in-house. We’ve introduced Color Logic special effects, to enable metallic printing, selected by customers to make their brand really stand out and reduce cost of foil blocking, and we’ve also improved our business facilities such as our board room and office spaces. What are the next steps for the business? We’ll be making further investment into digital finishing equipment, further recruitment and resource investment into marketing. The next item on our list will be a 500mm wide Grafisk Maskinfabrik finishing press. Watch this space! www.cslabels.co.uk
