Apple To Announce Record-Breaking £110bn Revenues Apple’s yearly sales have grown thanks to worldwide demand for the latest iPhone models. Wall Street experts expect Apple’s full year results to report a record-breaking £110 billion in revenue between September 2013 and September 2014. Chief executive Tom Cook said the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus had ‘set a new high-water mark’ for sales as people rushed to buy the new handsets. As many as 10m devices more sold in the first week of release, prompting Mr Cook to say: “These iPhones have become the fastest-selling iPhones in history. And the first 30 days we have set a new high-water mark for the most orders taken. And I don’t mean by a little. By a lot, a whole lot.” www.apple.com/uk
Pentax Targets Young Market with Special Edition Sweets Collection The recently launched Pentax K-S1 DSLR now comes in a trio of bright new colours
Fujifilm’s Instax Mini is a Hit With Hipsters It seems the vogue for all things yesteryear is helping Fujifilm sell its Instax mini, a tiny camera that prints instant photos much like the classic Polaroid. Rebelling against the smartphone age, the Instax mini has found its niche with customers who prefer the satisfaction of an instant physical print over a shareable digital file. The Japanese manufacturer announced recently that it will invest 1 billion yen (£5.75 million) to boost the production lines at two factories to increase capacity by 20-30% by spring 2015.

Despite only having launched the K-S1 in September, Pentax seems to be capitalising on the Christmas market by introducing three new colours to the collection. Strawberry Cake (pink), Blue Cream (blue) and Lime Pie (green) have been added to the 12 current colour options, perhaps appealing to a younger generation of customers. Despite its collection of sugarysweet names, the lightweight K-S1 is still a relatively advanced DSLR, housing a newly developed CMOS sensor with approximately 20.12 effective megapixels, a 3.0-inch, high-resolution LCD monitor, an optical viewfinder offering 100% field of view, an built-in shake reduction mechanism, and a top sensitivity of ISO 51200.
