Welcome I can’t believe this is our 10th magazine issue! It has been 10 issues of amazing kids party inspiration and showcasing wonderful party businesses. A huge thank you to all the Celebrate Society members and businesses involved in any of our magazine issues. This magazine came about as a way to showcase our members and I feel that this is done so well – issue after issue – because of the dedication of everyone who contributes. Thank you to YOU – the readers who enjoy this magazine, support the businesses and share the magazine also! This issue we incorporated a special Mother’s Day shoot and it was important for me to include a shoot such as this with a devoted mum, Natalie Nader with her 5 children – which was such a beautiful image of motherhood. I also felt it was important to have something to celebrate our firefighters and Birthday Fairy styled a fun shoot with meaning behind it - to lift up our firefighters as true heros in this firefighter party theme!

What was your inspiration behind the styling for this party shoot? The inspiration behind the shoot was inspired by Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The original movie is a family favourite, and I wanted to design and style a shoot where I could bring some of the excitement colour and fun of this favourite movie to life.

What were some of the unique features of this setup? There are quite a few unique features of this set-up and everyone involved in this shoot created or designed the most gorgeous props. stationery, decals, desserts and thank you gifts. I worked with the most amazing team and had a fantastic venue at Pavilion Warehouse to bring it all to life. One my favorite features was the gumball machine stand with the gumball balloon garland pouring into the ball pit (Gumball Lake). I loved working with Tanya (Tumbletots Party Hire) and Lorraine (Perfectly Created 4u) and seeing it go from an idea, to drafting a design to seeing it all set-up was exciting. We also had hand painted Wonka gates, a gorgeous golden ticket from Barley Boy, and the most adorable invite box complete with golden ticket and chocolates from Serendipity Designs, Wonka fairy floss pops from Your Sweet Memories, Wonka cookie mix from Your Sweet Health , a massive three layer Wonka Cake by Sweetly Baked Perth and a Fairy Floss Machine where the children were able to make their fairy floss.

Share your top tips for those planning children’s parties and celebrations Get creative with the theme and have fun. Carry out the theme in all the details look for unique ways to incorporate the theme throughout the party and the décor. It’s all in the details that make each party special, from the biggest props through to the smallest detail. Planning is key – think through all the details and set your plan. Have a checklist whether that’s a notebook or a party planning app. Prepare and plan for the unexpected whether that is a change in guest numbers, or weather for outdoor parties. Most importantly think past the theme décor and props, which of course are important. It’s the experience and memories that are created that count the most so incorporate personal touches to help create these memories.

What was your inspiration behind the styling for this party shoot? It’s that time of the year again, “Easter” to remind us of hope, fun and eternity. I always get Egg-cited for Easter more than any time of the year and when the opportunity came up, I immediately wanted to bring my vision of a fun elegant and vibrant Easter party to life. (Egg-cited easter party. The stunning and luxe arches that I supplied incorporated with the vibrant color balloon installation together with the flowers, acrylic signs and bunnies has definitely helped to take my vision to the next level.

What were some of the unique features of this setup? The lovely balloon installation, along with the super cute bunnies that were used alongside the setup, with the stunning Easter bunny bags for the best egg-citing part of the party, Easter hunt.

Share your top tips for those planning children’s parties and celebrations. When you are planning for kids parties, always think of fun and what makes a kid happy. The smile on a kids face when they are happy is just priceless, Always think of what makes them happy, then plan and incorporate all your vision around that.

What was your inspiration behind the styling for this party shoot? Donuts! Taking the bright colours of donut icing and sprinkles and creating a bright colourful fun party setup with lots of confetti, balloons and streamers every kids dream! We wanted to move away from the popular pastel toned “donut grow up” theme and create a brighter, fun, edgy version “donut kill my vibe”.

What were some of the unique features of this setup? The epic setup is packed full of on trend props and party decorations including a shimmer wall, roof hanging streamers, balloon installations, bright colours and lots of confetti to create a fun party setup. The cake, sweets, desserts, donuts and partyware are all absolutely amazing!

Share your top tips for those planning children’s parties & celebrations Have fun with it! A children’s party should be all about fun! Pick a theme that your child likes and go from there. Involve your child in the planning of the party, ask them what they would like at their party. Include the food they love, include the games / entertainment they love and so on! If you have the budget use professionals. Hiring or using reputable businesses will make the day easier for you. The setup and clean up is labour intensive and time consuming. They can come in and do part or all of the setup and clean up, leaving you with time to enjoy the party with your child/children. If you are doing a diy party keep it simple. Do what is achievable in the setup time frame so when the party starts you can enjoy it too and not be exhausted from your hours of party setup/cooking etc.

How does your business help busy mums who are party planning? Eve&Co is a premium design and stationery service which helps busy parents with their first (and some would argue most important) point of contact with their guests: the invitation! I provide a full-service custom design option, or online ready-to-order items that really bring the “wow factor” to an event. Additional products are also available which extend the theme right through to the event on the day (think menus, signage design, tags, favours, tags... the list is endless)! My passion is to create beautiful paperie, stationery and event extras that leave a lasting impression.

What unique service or offering does your business provide? My multi-layered, hand-assembled stationery has become

somewhat of a unique point of difference for us in the market, and I pride myself on my design, products and the high standard they are produced at. Likewise, my flat print products are considered just as important - and all jobs are held to the same high standard when in production. I also offer unique Christening Candles and one-of-a-kind party hats.

What ‘on trend’ party product/service are your customers loving at the moment? I’ve recently introduced Custom Illustration to my range of services, which is a hugely popular trend at the moment. I’ve been a designer and illustrator for over 20 years, but its a relatively new commercial offering. Adding that extra element of personality that is totally unique to the guest of honour is certainly something special, and I relish contributing to people’s joy and love in their own family’s milestones through my work.

What was your inspiration behind the styling for this party shoot? I wanted to create something bright, colourful and fun to celebrate the essence of motherhood. A celebration of a magical bond between mother and child which is truly like a roller-coaster with lots of fun highs and colourful lows along the way! I drew inspiration from the current modern geometric trends and also combined this with more traditional elements and details inspired by the baroque period.

What were some of the unique features of this setup? • Combination of geometric design with the swirls and patterns of the baroque period • Use of bold and bright colours in combination with gold • A range of unique mother’s day gifts such as our handcrafted card, dessert bouquet, cookie boxes and strawberry gift box

Share your top tips for those planning children’s parties and celebrations • Take a risk with the use of colour as often you will be surprised with the outcome! • Less is always more. Don’t feel the need to over crowd the party with lots of props in every corner. Pick a feature area you can decorate and use as a photo area and also a backdrop for you to cut the cake and take some beautiful shots of your event. • When in doubt give the kids confetti! This is a fantastic way for them to interact with each other and a great way to have fun!

What was your inspiration behind the styling for this party shoot? I wanted to showcase firefighters as our real superheroes. After the tragic bushfire season we had, it was a way to praise the firefighters for all their hard work. It was an important theme for the children allowing them to positively explore the loss and devastation. The theme enabled the children to have an outlet to discuss the heroic work of firefighters and celebrate their courage.

What were some of the unique features of this setup? The theme itself was really unique as it hasn’t been explored as much on social media and Pinterest. When searching for ideas for a “fireman” theme party, everything was very American. I wanted to put a twist on the traditional fireman theme by combining it with the superhero angle. We also incorporated the Australian native lens to make it uniquely Australian and more relatable for the children. Share your top tips for those planning children’s parties and celebrations Planning is key! Tiering in colours, textures, desserts and props is super important. Having a vision board is a great way to pull all the different concepts together to see which ideas work best. Maximise the fun for the children. We had a jumping castle and fireman entertainment which allowed the children to burn their energy, connect and bond with each other. Games, dancing and craft are always great ways to keep the children busy! Support local - the amazing treats and desserts couldn’t be bought off the shelf. Just looking at the desserts you could see the hours of time and effort that the ladies put into them. Supporting local really shows with the end result! Book with people you trust - no vision will come to life unless everyone is on the same page. Our amazing balloon lady, Joanne from Confetti Hire could almost read my mind and was so instrumental in tying the many ideas together.
