Welcome to Issue 19 – as we emerge out of winter we have lots of party inspiration, ideas and vendors to help you get started planning those spring and summer celebrations! My own son’s Holy Communion is featured this issue along with themes such as Circus, Preppy Golf, French Patisserie and the Wizard of Oz! Such a fantastic mix of celebrations to showcase that no matter the theme, there are wonderful vendors available to bring it to life - and I hope you can support and follow all those involved in this issue!

We have covered lots of incredible party shoots and also featured some amazing businesses this issue – all to help and inspire you for your upcoming parties so enjoy and take it all in. Thank you to everyone involved in creating such a fabulous issue, especially my Celebrate Society

WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION BEHIND THE STYLING FOR THIS PARTY SHOOT?

Our main inspiration behind the shoot was an overall Luxe Hampton’s vibe to create that “Preppy” look, whilst still providing all the fun for a kids party!

WHAT WERE SOME OF THE UNIQUE FEATURES OF THIS SETUP?

I think the standout would definitely have to be the unique colour palette which incorporated the stunning silver mirrored detailing. These details shone through front & centre with the custom backdrops created by Boujee By Ashtons, the custom acrylic signage by Letters By Grace, custom acrylic cake toppers by Studio Berns and the epic shiny silver tassel ceiling installation by Mary POP It Balloons. The backdrops which featured gorgeous architrave detailing really blended in well to create that luxurious Hampton’s feel.

WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION BEHIND THE STYLING FOR THIS PARTY SHOOT?

The inspiration behind styling this photoshoot was all about capturing Raya’s youthful spirit and creative imagination. We wanted to create a fun and trendy atmosphere that showcased her personality and celebrated this special milestone in her life.

WHAT WERE SOME OF THE UNIQUE FEATURES OF THIS SETUP?

The girls were entertained with a stunning Flower Bar run by Cath Roberts Floral Designs. The ball pit proved to be a hit with the teens and created endless ‘Tik Tok moments’ whilst the Air Hockey Table provided an opportunity for lots of laughs and some healthy competition! In terms of styling, unique features included a personalised illustration by Stacey Rose, yummy personalised edible favours by Karamela Candy Boxes and Ana Josie Designs plus a beautiful lilac Trio Plinth Table for the cakes to be placed on and a scalloped arch shelf for all the treats and favours.

Communion CELEBRATION

BY SWEET HEAVENLY EVENTS (SYD)

WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION BEHIND THE STYLING FOR THIS PARTY SHOOT?

For Joshua’s Holy Communion we were inspired by the invitation design by Paper Playground. This was inspired by calm tones of blue and a Hamptons colour scheme. The round halo wall was inspired by the Tabernacle with the decal of the Holy Eucharist inside.

WHAT WERE SOME OF THE UNIQUE FEATURES OF THIS SETUP?

Our new Xavier prop was the centre piece of the backdrop which aimed to relfect the Tabernacle –hence it was customised with the Holy Eucharist decal. We used the latest trends when it came to displaying florals in large pots, and a floor decal to complete the whole look.

The jumping castle in gorgeous blue with a stunning garland was also a standout feature. The table settings were styled with tones of blues, greys and silvers to bring the theme to life with beautiful paperie and candles. The custom bombonierre were also a gorgeous feature and incorporated a number of keepsake pieces inside clear acrylic boxes.

I always like to get to know the family and child up close and personal, so the event and theme can reflect them – so this is an important tip if you’re a stylist. Always incorporate something special that they will remember for the rest of their lives. Also include a surprise that the family wouldn’t be expecting –which is something I always try and do – it adds that special wow factor and shows you’ve gone above and beyond for them!

Circus EXTRAVAGANZA

WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION BEHIND THE STYLING FOR THIS PARTY SHOOT?

I have never styled a circus theme so I had a lot of fun with this one, still using traditional circus pieces to create a fun circus vibe – but giving it a modern twist by using modern colours, to immerse yourself into being at the circus!

WHAT WERE SOME OF THE UNIQUE FEATURES OF THIS SETUP?

We had the most amazing smash cake, and the kids loved having a turn at seeing what was inside. Oh My Balloon Bar created the most amazing elephant balloon sculpture which added a touch of fun to our balloon display. We named him Harold! A super fun scavenger hunt game had the kids looking all around for all things circus, and at the end of our party we celebrated with gold confetti poppers to cheer Jordan on his 4th birthday! It really felt like we were at the greatest circus.

Somewhere OVER THE RAINBOW

BY LITTLE PARTY FACES (MELB) AND WILD CONFETTI (MELB)

WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION BEHIND THE STYLING FOR THIS PARTY SHOOT?

I remember watching The Wizard of Oz and falling in love with the movie’s charming story as we followed Dorothy’s journey along the yellow brick road. It’s the most famous and beloved family movie of all time and children still adore the film to this day! Michelle and I wanted to touch upon this nostalgia by bringing this beautifully styled and charming childrens themed party to life.

WHAT WERE SOME OF THE UNIQUE FEATURES OF THIS SETUP?

We took inspiration from Dorothy’s blue gingham print dress, which allowed for the print to feature across the paperie, party bags and boxes. The unique pops of ruby red and the yellow colours to signify Dorothy’s ruby slippers and the yellow brick road were a standout and so much fun to style in this shoot. It was very visually impactful. This party had a strong emphasis on the kids party experience throughout. We were able to utilise some terrific local business suppliers in Melbourne who provide childrens activities and items to entertain. The children loved sitting at the picnic table on comfy cushions playing with their party favors – customised play dough, character cookies, filled party favor boxes and rainbow cookie making kits. Our Dorothy entertainer was amazing in keeping the children entertained, and they enjoyed playing dress up while wearing the make-believe Dorothy braid headband. We played with arches to symbolise the rainbows and you’ll see that followed through the scalloped and rounded prop stands and arches.

Parisian PATISSERIE

WHAT WAS YOUR INSPIRATION BEHIND THE STYLING FOR THIS PARTY SHOOT?

Our inspiration for the photoshoot came from the cafés of Paris. We wanted to create a space that felt realistic and unique which was outside the norm of using feminine colours and themes as the main feature.

WHAT WERE SOME OF THE UNIQUE FEATURES OF THIS SETUP?

We chose green, blue, and dusty pink as our main colour palette for the setup, stepping away from the more traditional and vibrant colours for girls. To create a realistic Parisian café vibe, we incorporated props such as a stylish green candy cart, a vintage bicycle and double French doors. We collaborated with a number of vendors who made our vision that much better with items such as the Lambeth cake, cupcakes, a macaron tower, cookies, menu signs, and luxurious gift bags which were all displayed on elegant cake stands. We even had customised Eiffel Tower cocktail stirrers which was a really inspired touch!
