Can you believe it’s the last issue of 2019? This issue I have filled the e-magazine with a huge range of different parties from Christmas and NYE to a baby shower and 1st birthday and more! Tell us the story behind your inspiration in the concept and styling for this Event? Marley is a theatre buff herself, she does Musical Theatre, Singing, Acting and Dance Classes. She has performed Mary Poppins both old and new tracks at shows in the past year. Marley absolutely loved the new movie out last Christmas holidays, so it was no surprise when she said she wanted to create the end scene of Mary Poppins Returns. We took the floating balloon scene mixed with the Royal Doulton Music Bowl scene, this allowed us to combine the gorgeous penguins, which Jen from Pink Pom Pom Kids just created beautifully, with the exquisite carousel and horses with the kites and a picnic scene.
What were your favourite elements of Marley’s Party? You cannot go past these simply adorable penguins. We fell in love with them right from the beginning. Marley was so attached to these life size ones we had made onto decals by Jo at Jos Signs by Design that we have kept them, removing from the plinths and moving them to her bedroom walls. The giant Carousel with the balloons had the guests gobsmacked upon entry, the colours were so beautiful. The gorgeous pastel teepees next to the pretty picnic table setup just made you feel you were at the fairground picnic. You were really swept away in the moment. The team of vendors pulled all these elements together. Alex from Ruby Rabbit had special partyware coming in and we were first to use the collection, and her assistance on the day with setup and the children was just amazing- she stepped in with Jen like a pair of Mary Poppins themselves!
What ARE YOUR top tips to time poor Mums when Party Planning? Pre-planning is key to a smooth and stress free event, the more you can have booked 4 weeks out the calmer you will feel. I always tell my clients, “you are not Wonder Woman, guests do not expect that you have done it all.” A smart person outsources - even us as professionals either have a team behind us on the day or we hire in help for our own. Throwing a memorable event can be a lot of work, especially on the day itself with everyone around you wanting to check before they do anything. This is where a stylist or even a host is golden, they can co-ordinate all of the setup and prep for you. It doesn’t mean you don’t have creative control, it just means you can have time to enjoy the moment 6

What was your inspiration behind the styling for this party shoot? Audrey’s Pet Shoppe concept was a combination of my love for all things vintage European as well as Audrey’s love for her favourite Beanie Boo French Bulldog. Audrey loves animals especially Dogs and Guinea Pigs. This was expanded upon by myself and our wonderful Graphic Designer Jen from Pink Pom Pom Kids to deliver you a beautiful vintage French inspired Pet Shoppe featuring a Pet Adoption Centre.
What were some of the unique features of this setup? Everything about Audrey’s Pet Shoppe was completely custom made from the hand drawn invitations through to the life-sized Pet Shoppe. The Pet Shoppe itself had the most amazing presence uniquely featuring the beautiful illustration of Audrey herself with three of her favorite pets. The Pet Shoppe is home to the sweetest little French Bulldog, a very smug little Kitten and a cheeky little guinea pig. Audrey’s Pet Shoppe vendors went above and beyond to create amazing new things for this party. There are so many intricate details and so many points of interest that guests described the party as mesmerizing. Guests were enchanted by the party and couldn’t believe all the amazing features and goodies that awaited them. Upon arrival, all the little guests were treated to their own adopted pet from Audrey’s Adoption Centre complete with a custom Adoption Certificate.
Share your top tips for those planning children’s parties and celebrations My top tip for any party is to make it personal and make sure there is a passion behind what you are creating. I firmly believe success is in the detail, it’s the little things that come together to create something magical for both the guest of honour and their guests.

What unique service or offering does your business provide? Party Mamma’s key point of difference is that I offer party planning, party styling and prop hire all in the one place. My background of 20+ years in hospitality and events is where I gained my passion for creating amazing parties and styling WOW events.
I now also offer the option of prop hire, which is a new addition to my business that gives mums the opportunity to get creative and style their own parties with my new hire range.
What ‘on trend’ party product/service are your customers loving at the moment? Simplistic set ups. Big dessert tables are not as in demand as they used to be. It is becoming quite popular to have a simplistic set up consisting of an elegant cake display set on a nice plinth and cake stand in front of a matching backdrop with florals or balloons, which can all be hired through Party Mamma. Bright vibrant colours is another big trend in the party world. Adding a bright pop of colour to make your party stand out by using bright coloured balloons, florals, partyware, streamer walls or neon lights is becoming super popular.

What was your inspiration behind the styling for this party shoot? Inspiration came from the fun and chaos of children at Christmas and what they love at this time of the year. They get so excited when seeing Christmas trees, or presents under the tree and they love the stories of Santa and his reindeers and of course the candy and sweet treats. The colour palette was inspired by candy canes, reds, pinks, greens and white.
What were some of the unique features of this setup? There were so many different unique features from each of the vendors which styled together created a wonderful bright and fun “Oh Deer” Christmas Party. It was the details that brought the “Oh Deer” theme to life. On the table we had sleepy reindeer milk bottles and coordinating themed bonbons. Christmas ornaments created from balloons were placed on the table and around the party room. We also had a handmade sleepy reindeer piñata, a make your own reindeer cookie station, themed cookies and a gorgeous sleepy reindeer Christmas cake, Christmas reindeer plates and a Christmas candy colored balloon garland.
Share your top tips for those planning children’s parties and celebrations When planning children’s parties and celebrations from my experience it comes down to planning and organisation, even small parties need planning. When you start writing it all down from your budget, guests, decorations, menu it may seem a little overwhelming but create lists and keep them all together, and tick off items once finlaised or confirmed. Get creative when choosing a theme or a colour scheme, have your child involved as this helps build the excitement for the special day. Have fun in choosing a theme that is special and unique to you and your child. Book venues, entertainers, party props and décor early to avoid disappointment.

Is there any advice you would give to people new to the industry?
This is the most amazing industry and its such an honour to be able to work in it. I absolutely love working on every event and being able to bring our beautiful clients vision to life and create memories for them, their family and friends to last a lifetime. We have been so blessed to work with so many incredible clients and I absolutely adore them all.
Follow gorgeous businesses that inspire you and support those that support you. My dad has always taught me in business and life to always support those that support you and that have your back and you have theirs and I have done this my whole life. You will always find they share the same passion and enthusiasm you do. Always, always exceed expectations.
I absolutely love working with so many incredible suppliers who make our industry amazing. It takes a village for our events to come together and never one person. Teamwork as with any industry really does make the dream work and the events industry is filled with so much passion and talent and wonderful people and bringing so much talent together for our events is such an absolute joy. What was your inspiration behind the styling for this party shoot? This event was designed to be a sparkling, high energy, fun-filled glimpse into a tweenagers dream NYE celebration and I immediately thought, Studio 54. Being a bunch of young at heart, fun-loving disco divas, the suppliers wanted to embrace the cool carefree vibe of the disco era and show how that distinctive style can be adapted for a younger generation of party goers.
What were some of the unique features of this setup? The shoot took place in the light filled warehouse of Ruby Rabbit. Given the expansive high ceiling and vast space combined with the artificial light provided by the neon sign it was the perfect setting for our disco inferno. Every supplier involved was of such a high standard that I was basically running around like a kid in a candy shop for the set-up! It was a true honour and a joy to work with such a talented and professional team of vendors which makes it virtually impossible to pick a favourite. The incredible hanging garland was the perfect starting point to provide glitter and glow. The plates and cups were complimented by pink neon and silver mirror drink stirrers and risers and were completed with personalised paperie. The funky mixed tape goodie boxes finished off with matching headphones were filled with retro sweets and props including ring pops and scrunchies. These touches assisted the wardrobe selection and emphasized the strong and empowering words on the t-shirts provided by confetti rebels. The trio of cakes and desserts supplied were the icing on the cake. The glitterati macarons were a thoughtful accent and tied together with the sparkling meringues. I really loved the acrylic custom dessert box that was filled with an array of sweet treats and covered with a lid featuring the cheeky phrase ‘I’m just here for the dessert’. The specialty made heart pinatas in two sizes were a festive and versatile feature which were loved by all the tweens and accentuated the tassel garland. I am a true stickler for details and this shoot was no exception. All the elements came together seamlessly and made our friends want to boogie on down guaranteeing that disco fever is far from dead.
Share your top tips for those planning children’s parties and celebrations Trust your suppliers. Stay true to your theme. If something doesn’t work, don’t try to force it. No matter how great the idea, a polished and cohesive event is the result of careful thought and preparation but above all, personalisation. 40

What was your inspiration behind the styling for this party shoot? The main inspiration came from The Pink Zebra Restaurant in India, with its unique facade design that creates an everlasting effect and invites you into a magical crafted world whose spaces are framed to treat the eyes. The black & white stripes, were the perfect match for a luxurious Chanel theme, which suited the mum to-be and her sense of style. As for Pink tropical, it came to mind of course from the idea of the zebra & to also suit the theme of a beautiful baby girl we added pink flamingos!
What were some of the unique features of this setup? I’d say the custom floor decal was very unique, with an abstract artwork of black and white stripes and a marble look finish. It sure made a statement where you couldn’t tell if it was a peel & stick process, which we did, or a real floor installation. We also had a bubble machine, with the unique feature of “Fog Bubbles”. These bubbles consisted of CO2 fog inside. Popping the bubble would release the fog, creating a smoke like effect. The idea of bubbles certainly suited the theme of a baby shower & the fog created tropical forest vibes for everyone to enjoy!
Share your top tips for those planning children’s parties and celebrations The top of the list things to do while planning an event, is to be organised. Always plan ahead, put pen to paper as sometimes it helps to see everything written in front of you in case you forget to include items you may have missed. You should also have a budget for your event. To ensure you don’t exceed the amount of spending, it would be a great strategy to keep track of costs & payments. When it comes to choosing the venue it is important to choose the perfect space to accommodate for your event. Keeping in mind the type of occasion, theme and a venue that would be age appropriate to your guests. Above all, on the day of your event, have fun and enjoy the special milestones of life surrounded by the people you love! Sometimes things just don’t go to plan and that’s ok! It makes the moments just as special, with memories to hold on to forever. 50

What was your inspiration behind the styling for this party shoot? Since the recent release of the new movie, I’ve been dying to style an Aladdin Birthday Party! For the setup I drew inspiration from the movie itself to create a magical and enchanted party in the setting of the City of Agrabah. To frame the beautiful raw walls of the venue I decided to use purple and turquoise balloons creating a fun and bright look to the backdrop. I love how dramatic the backdrop looked with the combination of the balloons and gold dessert table. To cover the kids table itself, I layered a purple tablecloth with Aladdin plates and added gold elements like gold lanterns with turquoise candles for an Arabian vibe, a “treasure bag” filled with gold coins and jewellery to add texture, shine and inject instant colour. To finish off the table décor, I added custom made Aladdin activity books created by the talented Virginia from The Party Pack Co, as well as Cookie Mix Favours by Kelly from Sweet Health. I love how opulent and rich this table décor looked, without being too over the top!
What were some of the unique features of this setup? The venue of course! Beta Bar was the perfect place for this amazing set up. The bare walls and the tall carved door gave the set a real Arabian feel. The animal props brought some entertainment for the kids and added that special touch to the set up.
Share your top tips for those planning children’s parties and celebrations Kids’ party planning should probably be considered an art! Planning a party can be stressful so never be afraid to ask for help and plan ahead. The first thing to do is to choose the theme that your child would love. There’s nothing more rewarding then seeing their happy face on the day. Be organised and book early to avoid disappointment!

Tiny Tots Event Hire was one of the very first businesses who ever advertised with Life’s Little Celebrations 8.5 years ago - so it was a joy to attend their 10 year celebration and to celebrate all they have achieved in business! Dalia and her husband have truly grown their business into one which is a reputable leader in our industry so it was wonderful to see SO many industry vendors together in the one room to support and celebrate their success! The room was styled so gorgeously and I really enjoyed the night in the company of many Celebrate Society members as well as meeting some other new faces. There was a fun photobooth, delicious food and
drinks, prizes, music entertainment and of course their new all white ball pit which many enjoyed falling into or grabbing a fun photo in! It was such a fun night for our industry and really showcased what can be achieved when you have passion and determination and don’t give up! Dalia has run her business with honesty and generosity - always willing to help other vendors - and I believe this has helped her succeed and gotten Tiny Tots Event Hire to where it is today. What unique service or offering does your business provide? The ability to create events from scratch; food and all. We have experience in working in blank canvas venues and private homes where everything and everyone needs to be brought in. This requires lots of planning,
detailed coordinating and careful time management to ensure a beautiful, seamless and truly memorable celebration. I also ran a catering business for 5 years and having worked in fine dining understand the importance of food and beverages and service for the adults as well as children.
What ‘on trend’ party product/service are your customers loving at the moment? We have been receiving lots of requests for Boho Garden Picnic style set-ups with rugs and cushions, moroccan ottomans and low tables. This can be taken so many ways and the style of rugs or cushions chosen can dramatically change the overall feeling of the space. We offer boho or garden style picnic packages as a dry hire/ DIY option or we also offer full styling and coordination.

What was your inspiration behind the styling for this party shoot? Every girl dreams of becoming a ‘princess’, which was obviously my dream too. Twisting the concept, I combined two themes together to make a gorgeous shoot.
What were some of the unique features of this setup? Indeed the life size pumpkin carriage prop represented the uniqueness of the entire shoot. Further, the vibrant color of the balloon garland enriched the glamorousness of the design. I carried the theme and imagery of the carriage and the castle into all the small details of the shoot.
Share your top tips for those planning children’s parties and celebrations •W hen making the decision, it is vital to give an important space for your child to involve themselves in deciding as it improves their creativity as well as their decision-making ability. •S econdly, have a budget and then select the vendors and other suppliers. • T hirdly, make sure that you give the designer a reasonable frame along with your requirements with ample freedom to create and build up the concept. • L ast but not least, remember this is an event for your child hence, their enjoyment is very crucial. Adding some entertainment activities will definitely keep them going and occupied and it lets each and everyone at the party enjoy it to the maximum.

What was your inspiration behind the styling for this party shoot? Nautical parties are traditionally quite preppy with a country club feel. I wanted to soften this normally masculine theme so I opted for a beautifully boho styled picnic which was perfectly set on the banks of the gorgeous Swan river.
What were some of the unique features of this setup? Besides the stunning location, the arbour draped with florals and fabric over the picnic table gave the party a feel of whimsy. It created a window effect giving the party guests a framed view of the dessert table in one direction and the beautiful swan river from the other. The graphic design elements really came to life with the invitation, milestone board and tags being printed on wood. The anchor was heavily represented throughout the styling and this was carried through to the yummy cake, cupcakes, cookies and cheesecake in a jar to create a cohesive look to the party.
Share your top tips for those planning children’s parties and celebrations •S et the tone of your party through your styling. If you are wanting a more formal affair, allocated seating at tables is appropriate, however if you are opting for a relaxed vibe a picnic style party will be perfect. •D on’t forget the entertainment. Irrespective of the little guests age, party entertainment is a must! Whether you choose to include good old traditional party games such as pin the tail and pass the parcel, or if you choose to hire soft play equipment or an entertainer ensure that you have allocated some of your party budget for this, you won’t regret it.

Planning a party, even a small party takes organisation planning and time, and this is where I step in and help my clients. I can help with the initial planning and design from the invitations through to the organisation, set-up and pack down on the day. We love bringing to life our client’s visions, with stylish and creative parties, so that on the day their time is spent in the moment creating wonderful memories with their children, family and friends.
What unique service or offering does your business provide? One of our favourite services we offer is custom designed children’s birthday parties. We love working
with our clients to create magical celebrations that are special and unique to their day and personalised in all the details. We ensure that no two parties are alike, and love custom designing backdrops from large 20mtr seamless backdrops that transform event space to smaller personalised backdrops for desert and cake tables, or custom gift bags and party stationary and prints. Its in the personal touches and details that makes our events special and our clients love.
What ‘on trend’ party product/service are your customers loving at the moment? What our clients love is that we design and tailor their events and celebrations to them and their vision and personal style. Our clients really love the consistent theming we thread throughout their event or party from the initial design of the invites, and than threading this detail throughout the styling of the event in the tablescapes, props, signage and custom gifts or prints.
