UMHLANGA TO BALLITO

T

his is going to be one wild ride! Firstly, its an election year, and there’s no doubt March will bring us some meme-worthy moments, an eye-roll or two, and hopefully some muchneeded elation as we head to the polls to usher in a new era for our country.

It’s make or break time. But if there’s one thing South Africans do well, it’s to laugh at ourselves, so whatever happens, there’s bound to be some comic relief ahead. (Be sure to take advantage of the final weekend of voter registration from 26-27 January and visit elections.org.za to find out your voter status.) Speaking of make or break, it’s also the year that the North Coast will see some exciting developments and projects, such as new schools, retail hubs, corporate spaces and residential estates. Last year, we saw the first direct flight to and from London landing at

King Shaka International Airport (which reportedly also includes 30 tons of cargo each round-trip), and it’s a mere 15-minute drive away. Imagine! A quick business trip to London is now a stone’s throw away from our “sleepy” seaside town. A few of our major retail hubs are now one-year into trade and finding their groove, and the jaw-dropping Maputo-KaTembe bridge also opened in 2018, essentially cutting the drive time between Kosi Bay and our neighbours in Maputo by half, opening a gateway to Mozambican tourism and trade. That’s quite a highlights' reel, and it seems to mirror our own journey here at Life & Style. 2019 is Life & Style’s 15th year of telling the stories of the North Coast. It is my absolute privilege to take over as editor of this newspaper; a publication that has seen Ballito and the surrounding areas go from seaside holiday destination to a burgeoning economic hub, brimming with potential, and now poised to become one of our country’s best performing economic regions. We have so much in store for you; from local profile pieces on movers and shakers, to the best in local food and drink, insightful pieces on health, fitness and wellbeing, and topical commentary on art and culture, which combine to reflect our community and the people who live here. In this edition, page 3 offers some

VEGAN VITALITY Melanie Reeder-Powell gets to grips with the lifestyle movement making waves across the globe.

J

ANUARY is traditionally a time when we all shift our energies toward caring for our bodies, losing a bit of holiday weight, and generally trying to focus on our overall health and wellbeing. This year, a global shift toward ‘crueltyfree living’ is taking this tradition a step further, and creating big buzz in the process.

Dubbed “Veganuary”, the movement is a charitydriven effort to promote an ethical lifestyle, literally from your head to your toes. (Banters, look away now…) While dairy-free cheese, and meat-free biltong may sound like an absurd paradox to some, the momentum toward vegan living is undeniable, and South Africa is no exception. Veganism is a philosophy based on the premise that one should, as far as possible, not harm or exploit any living creature while going about ones’ daily life. The focus doesn’t lie solely on the individual however; veganism incorporates the wellbeing of the planet too. A lifestyle aimed toward expressing ultimate compassion doesn’t sound like such a bad gig, and yet vegans still face mountains of backlash from mainstream society. The resultant stereotypes are that they’re underfed, undernourished, unhealthy, and fussy. This, of course, is an entirely false construct. South Africa’s first vegan magazine launched in January 2017, The Vegan Life, and even health and fitness influencers are publicly busting myths about vegans having inferior protein options. Instagram is rife with vegan fitness influencers, such as Dominick Thompson (@domzthompson), Canadian Sam Shorkey (@ samshorkey), and South Africans embracing a vegan fitness lifestyle include Jody Calitz (@jodyc_myveganlife). The difficult part is really re-thinking our South African ‘default’ diets, which are largely based on meat and dairy. We may be a multicultural nation, divergent in many ways, but we seem to all converge when it comes to a slab of meat on an open flame. Adopting veganism is no easy task, since it involves all aspects of our daily life choices, from our shampoo to our shoes, but vegans now have access to more options than ever before, with supportive

websites, shopping options, Facebook groups, and the support of an increasing number of corporates, particularly in the beauty and food industries. After intensive local market research, Woolworths have recently started incorporating vegan ready-made meals into their fridges, and increasing pressure on beauty brands not to test on animals and to move away from animal by-products to plantbased ingredients has shown a large number of makeup and skincare ranges shouting out loud about being cruelty-free. Vegan products are becoming a marketing anthem, particularly for the so-called millennial consumer, who appear to be leading the vegan charge. We can debate the ethics or practicality of going vegan all day, but the growth of veganism is also based on simple economics and other irrefutable shifts in the market place. Statistics South Africa reported last year that the cost of meat rose 9% between April 2017 and April 2018. The ‘Great Polony Scare’ of 2018, numerous salmonella outbreaks, and increasing media exposure of unscrupulous animal farming practices has no doubt placed pressure on animal-reliant agriculture. In 2015, the World Health Organisation classed processed meats, including bacon and

sausages, as a group 1 carcinogen, meaning scientists felt there was sufficient evidence that they caused cancer, and in particular, colon cancer. Add climate change to the mix, and the move towards veganism starts to make sense. A wholly vegan marketplace would of course paint a very different agricultural picture, and there’s no doubt that the subsequent mass production of plant-based proteins will place a new set of pressures on the environment. There is also certainly still a place in the market for ethical farming, with some consumers opting to purchase freerange and organic animal products (often at a heftier cost), but the growth of veganism and plant-based living is evident, and by the looks of things, possibly even the way of the future.

SCRIBBLE SPACE

Buy a daily planner with a fridge magnet on the back. Every time you walk past the fridge (which, let’s be honest, is enough to meet your FitBit steps for the day) make a habit of glancing at it to see what’s coming up for the week, or what’s on your grocery list.

RISE AND SHINE

Set your alarm for half an hour earlier than you would normally. You won’t believe how much you can pack into the extra time, and it certainly takes the edge off your otherwise frantic morning.

EYES WIDE SHUT

Sending your children back to school after an extended holiday of lazy summer days with little to no routine also usually means they are quite over-stimulated for the first few days, and some will battle to switch off before bed time. Use an app like Headspace to calm everyone down before bedtime (mom and dad can join in too). It’s an awardwinning app that’s garnered a global, which guides you through breathing exercises and simple meditations. You can purchase for free and use the basic package to start, or top up with a paid-for subscription to unlock their more targeted packages which talk you through everything from a fear of flying to more child-specific breathing techniques.

NIGHT-TIME IS THE RIGHT TIME

Place things like school shoes, bags, and sun hats in the same place every evening before you head off to bed. Fill up water bottles and place them in the fridge, pack the lunches, and take out the next day’s uniforms so that they’re ready to go. We know it’s the last thing you feel like doing after a long day, but your morning will be a breeze. Promise!

Sending children back to school always means they’re exposed to more viruses and bacteria. Purchase a small alcohol-based hand sanitiser to keep in your car to clean their hands when you pick them up from school. If you’re uncertain of how clean their class environment is, chat to your child’s teacher about their hygiene protocols and how often they’re cleaning their equipment, desks, chairs, door handles and toilet facilities.

DAY TRIPPING

A mere hours’ drive on the N2 from Ballito, Mtunzini is a lush coastal hideaway, with secluded Raffia Palm walkways and quaint lunch spots. You may even catch a glimpse of their most famous resident, the Palmnut Vulture. MELANIE REEDER-POWELL

I

N Zulu, emthunzini refers to ‘a place in the shade’, and in the height of summer, that’s exactly where one heads when visiting this small town. Luckily, there’s plenty of it, since Mtunzini falls within the protected coastal forests of the uMlalazi Nature Reserve. The streets are lined with enormous boughs, which play host to cackling Trumpeter hornbills. Wooly necked storks abound, and shy duiker nibble on the grass.

The setting is highly evocative, and one is reminded of the William Plomer poem, 'The Wild Doves at Louis Trichardt', “where the sun’s gong beats, and the sweat runs down”, and “midday is mad cicada time, sizzling from every open valve.” The shade referenced in its name is actually quite specific, and reportedly refers to the place under the milkwood trees where John Dunn would meet with Zulu elders during the late 19th Century. While it's equally lovely to rest in the shade,be sure to pack your walking shoes, as there is no shortage of trails of varying distance both inside and outside the reserve gates. First, follow the signs just outside the reserve gates to the Raffia Palm Monument, where you’ll find wooden walkways ambling through the majestic Raffia plantation all

the way to the railway line. This is where you’re most likely to see the elusive Palmnut Vulture, one of South Africa’s rarest raptors, who feast on the fruits from the Raphia. If it’s serious birding you’re after, you can also head to Ngoye Forest just outside of town, where you can search for the green barbet, which supposedly has only ever been spotted here. Inside uMlalazi, (there is an entrance fee, so have cash handy) you’ll find lush coastal forest trails, pristine stretches of sandy beach, and muddy mangroves teeming with life. Look out for the amphibious mudskippers as they hop across the mud, and the comical fiddler crabs, which are sure to keep both children and adults amused as they raise their one enlarged claw threateningly at you! If exploring isn’t your thing, pack your golf clubs and enjoy the beautiful 9-hole course which borders the reserve, with views of both the uMlalazi lagoon and the Indian Ocean. Book for the first tee-time so you can enjoy the cooler respite of the morning. For lunch, head to the new-look Clay Oven restaurant, where locals and tourists alike gather for pizzas and grills in a relaxed environment, and children can play in the raised play area, or The Fat Cat for lighter lunch options. The lagoon is best enjoyed by boat, so book a cruise with Mtunzini River Cruises and be sure to look toward the sky to spot the fish eagles in flight.

NOTHER year. With all of the hopes and dreams that this one will be better than last year, we set off boldly into uncharted territory to face whatever 2019 has in store for us.

We made significant gains in listenership and in engagement on social media platforms in the latter part of last year, much of this attributable to the new Content Producer, Jason McCall who has joined us from East Coast Radio. We are delighted to have him on board and are looking forward to what he has lined up for the station for 2019. This year we have plans to continue the growth with more innovative, hyper-local features designed with you in mind. The ethos of the station is to entertain and inform with music and features that we know you are going to love. If you haven’t already done so, I encourage you to tune in on 88.0FM in the greater Ballito area, or, if you don’t have a radio or reception is weak, stream us on your smart TV, computer or mobile device to stay connected. We offer you breaking local news, regular interviews with interesting people, good company and the best selection of music in the region,

24 hours a day, seven days a week. You will probably have already noticed some significant changes to the look and feel of this publication and there is much more still to come. As the region has grown, we have also seen changes to the makeup of the community that we serve. We have studied the market and are busy refining the publication to bring you more of what you want in a style that you will definitely relate to. Our new editor, Melanie Reeder, has an impressive track record in the industry and has big plans for the publication which I am sure you are going to love. And so it begins. But there is an empty space in all of this that I am finding very hard to fill. Last year we were joined by a real character that in many ways turned the radio studio upside down. Our studio manager, Mvelo Zulu, mistakenly referred to the lost kitten that had wandered into the studio as a puppy, and the name stuck. Wild as she was, she had an indomitable spirit and a real desire to belong. We tried to find her a home but that didn’t pan out so she stayed and we all grew to

love her. She wasn’t exclusively ours – she beguiled most people at the Lifestyle Centre but she had her favourites. I think I might have been one of them. She certainly knew that I couldn’t resist giving her an extra helping of kitten food when she asked for it as she invariably did every time I came in to do my show. She disappeared just before Christmas and we suspect that she had been hit by a car close to where we eventually found her. We buried her there beneath the trees. Sleep peacefully, my little friend, you’re home now.

At the HEART of the Matter KIM WILSON - LIFESTYLE HEALTH

If you suffer from debilitating heartburn, read on. Dietician Kim Wilson offers some home remedies and digestive aids to relive your symptoms.

H

EARTBURN can easily be triggered by the foods that you eat, especially those that are fatty, spicy, or highly acidic. No matter what the cause is, it is undoubtedly inconvenient and extremely uncomfortable. Heartburn that occurs occasionally is no cause for alarm, however, when it recurs frequently you may want to have that examined by your doctor.

TRY THESE REMEDIES FIRST:

1. APPLE CIDER VINEGAR Raw, cloudy, unfiltered organic apple cider vinegar is a popular

home remedy for heartburn. Taken before a meal, apple cider vinegar does help to prevent heartburn from occurring, but it can also be taken acutely when you feel the burn. Mix 1 tbsp in room temperature water and swallow quickly. Note that if you have a stomach ulcer, apple cider vinegar will exacerbate your symptoms, so steer clear.

OTHER QUICK TIPS

2. LICORICE Licorice root supplements (sadly, not the same thing as licorice

After the festive season, our digestive systems may be a little “out of whack”, so you may experience more indigestion than usual. It you are struggling with heartburn regularly then some quick diet tips are to avoid excess caffeine and alcohol, deep fried foods, refined flour and sugar, canned foods, and even raw tomatoes. You may also want to wear loose clothing to prevent any pressure on your stomach. Finally, you should also avoid lying down until 2 – 3 hours after your meal.

3. GINGER It’s well known that ginger helps to relieve nausea, but it is often

sweets) are also commonly used to manage heartburn. Licorice is believed to help increase the mucous coating of your oesophageal lining, thus protecting your oesophagus from being damaged by stomach acid whilst providing relief. Note that taking licorice supplements or deglyceyrrhizinated licorice (DGL) supplements may elevate your blood pressure slightly so it is not safe if you already have elevated blood pressure.

used to provide relief from heartburn too. You can make a soothing ginger tea by mixing raw ginger root or ginger tea bags in boiling water. Alternatively consider adding grated ginger to your favourite meal to prevent heartburn.

NOW AVAILABLE AT LIFESTYLE HEALTH

4. DIGESTIVE ENZYMES It is believed that indigestion and heartburn may occur when

your stomach is struggling to fully break down your meal. To counter this, you may supplement with digestive enzymes to take the burden off of your stomach juices.

5. ALOE VERA Aloe Vera is a gel-like liquid that is very soothing for the

lining of your digestive tract, and can help prevent further inflammation. Ideally take half a cup before your meal if you suspect you may develop heartburn, but it can also be taken acutely.

6. SIBERIAN PINE NUT OIL Essentially Siberian pine nut oil is made up of fatty acids that are

anti-inflammatory, healing and protective for your stomach lining. It is a very effective antioxidant, Siberian Pine Nut Oil has been known to help erradicate H Pylori infections (a common cause of reflux and stomach ulcers).

7. BICARBONATE OF SODA This is a remedy you almost certainly have in your

pantry, right now. Also known as baking soda, bicarb is a natural antacid. Take 1 tsp of baking soda in a glass of water to neutralize stomach acid and temporarily alleviate your heartburn. Simple and effective.

T

HE beginning of the year is traditionally a time to take stock of your life, evaluate what has passed over the previous year, and set goals for the upcoming year. For many people, quitting smoking is a new year’s resolution, however it is something that is far easier said than done. If you are one of those people who wants to stop smoking, or if you are even just thinking about cutting down on cigarettes, I hope that this article will motivate and help you. Remember that it’s never too late to stop smoking and the benefits of cutting down begin with the next cigarette that you don’t smoke.

Instead of focusing on why you shouldn’t smoke (because, lets be honest, we’ve all seen dramatic pictures of smoker’s lungs and people dying of emphysema), I’m going to focus on the benefits you will reap from stopping smoking. So, what happens when you quit?

AFTER 20 MINUTES: • Your blood pressure and pulse rate start dropping • Circulation to your hands and feet starts to improve AFTER 8 HOURS: • The carbon monoxide levels in your bloodstream return to normal and oxygen levels increase AFTER 24 HOURS: • Your risk of heart attack starts to decrease AFTER 48 HOURS: • Your ability to taste and smell properly begins to return to normal AFTER 2 WEEKS TO 3 MONTHS: • Your exercise tolerance improves (get ready to start setting some PB’s) AFTER 1-9 MONTHS: • Sinus congestion and shortness of breath improve • The little mobile tubes in your bronchi start to regrow (smoking stunts their growth) and they begin to function again, clearing mucus from the lungs • Your energy levels increase • Your skin starts regenerating and you begin to look younger AFTER 1 YEAR: • Your risk of heart disease decreases to HALF that of a current smoker AFTER 10 YEARS: • Risk of dying from lung cancer drops to almost the same level as a life-long non-smoker and the incidence of mouth, throat, bladder, kidney and pancreatic cancer decreases.

This all sounds fantastic but quitting is not easy. Initially you will crave cigarettes, develop a cough, experience headaches, have difficulty concentrating, feel fatigued and have difficulty sleeping. Although these symptoms will usually resolve within a few weeks, for many people they are bad enough that they resume smoking only a few days or weeks after quitting. There are various medications that can help you stop smoking by decreasing the symptoms of your withdrawal significantly and if you are considering quitting smoking, I recommend that you chat to your doctor about the various options. There are many studies showing that you are more likely to quit and maintain with the help of medication than without. There are also lifestyle changes that have been shown to help you quit smoking. These include: • Exercise. This helps to relieve stress. As you get fitter, you will start to feel the benefits of stopping smoking, which will motivate you further. • Try to find triggers for smoking, for example alcohol, and remove or replace those triggers. • Snack on low calorie, healthy foods, wash your hands or drink a glass of water when you are tempted to light up a cigarette. Sometimes just doing something for a few minutes allows the craving to pass. • Get rid of cigarettes, lighters and matches. • Let people know that you are trying to quit so that they can support you. New Year’s resolutions seldom last the whole year, but with commitment and support you can stop smoking, not just for the year but for the rest of your life. Even if you do relapse or have failed to quit before, its still worth trying again. Most smokers take at least 3 attempts before they manage to quit. Gerda van Tonder

MOOIMAAK MAKEOVERS

The transformation

GERDA VAN TONDER

G

erda van Tonder doesn’t like change nor does she have a lot of time, so she was skeptical when her husband entered her into Mooimaak, kykNET’s most exciting makeover show.

Still, she’d always wanted to fix her teeth, so she agreed to let the Skin Renewal team, led by Skin Renewal’s Dr. Rulene Mare and therapist Lizanne Burton, give her the makeover of a life time. Aside from giving her a Hollywood smile with the help of dentist Dr JJ Serfontein, they were also able to help her look ten years younger in just nine weeks!

BEAUTIFUL BROWS

EYES ALIVE Gerda’s eyelids had begun to droop but Skin Renewal’s Jett Plasma Eye Rejuvenation procedure uses an advanced, patented medical device to direct an electrical current into the skin of the eye area. This stimulates it to start producing more collagen, while immediately tightening what exists, and the result is a firmerlooking, hood-free eye.

SKIN CONCERNS: Hooded Eyelids & Eyebrow Lift

A LIQUID LIFT

• • • • • •

Skin Renewal’s 3D Liquid face lift is another completely knife-free treatment. It involves using dermal fillers to instantly plump areas that have lost volume and botulinum toxin injections to relax wrinkles.

Hooded Eyelids Sagging Brows Excess Skin Sun Damage Uneven Skin Tone Wrinkles

While Gerda’s incredible new look simply blew her away, she was also impressed by the professionalism and kindness of the team. ‘Skin Renewal has now become like an extension of my family. It’s filled with caring, loving, wonderful people and I can recommend it to anyone with confidence’.

GETTING TO KNOW…

To help raise Gerda’s brows, Dr Rulene used Silhouette Soft threads that are inserted under the skin and pulled in a way that creates a very natural-looking lift. The results, which are immediate, the procedure is pain-free, requires no downtime and, as the threads encourage your skin to create more of its own collagen, the effect improves over time.

ALLITO’S GERALD WELLS salon has a team of highly qualified stylists with international experience. This month we get to know their newest addition in 2019, Justin Mark Lacy, who boasts an impressive resumé.

Originally from Umhlanga Rocks, Justin Mark Lacy has packed some impressive highlights into his 13-year career as a stylist. He spent some time in the UK, where he trained under the legendary Vidal Sassoon brand, and landed a coveted award as Junior Stylist of the Year in 2015. Justin gained invaluable experience working at London Fashion Week, and styling A-list celebrities on various international film sets, where he learnt to adapt to highpressure environments. Justin lists one of his main strengths as having completed his colour expert exam. “I do prefer colour, but I’m just as passionate about cutting, as I prefer achieving an overall result,” explains Justin. “I moved home from London, started working for Gerald Wells and found my target market was based more in the north coast,” he adds when explaining his move. “I chose Gerald Wells because of his reputation in the industry, and he had come highly recommended by friends in Durban.” Justin lists his key strengths as consistency, professionalism, and he enjoys the one-on-one relationships he builds with his clients. He also likes to keep a keen eye on the latest seasonal shifts in the industry, so his clients can always be sure his knowledge and skills are on-trend and up-to-date.

THE TAXI CHRONICLES Taxi culture speaks a language of it's own. As a self-confessed 'outsider', 88FM's lunchtime host Rethabile Hlalele shares her perspectives on a day-in-the-life of a north coast taxi commuter

MIKE IN THE MORNING: 6-9AM Hosted by Mike Charles, 88FM's flagship Morning Show sets the tone for the day with a blend of essential local info, news, interviews and red hot tunes from today and across the decades. Catching the early morning gym crowd, covering the school rush and getting you to the office on time - Mike and his surfer sidekick 'Seaweed' Steve Honneysett will make sure you're in the right headspace to tackle the day.

K

ICKING off season 2 of Taxi Chronicles, I feel like a mother about to send her baby off to Grade R. I can't help but think back to the day this baby was born and just how far she's come along.

Taxi Chronicles was born out of stories I would relay to my colleagues about the "mind blowing" taxi ride I had taken that morning or from work to home that afternoon. For some odd reason, they became part of our daily office rituals or antics where I would laugh, cry, vent and sometimes even pray over my taxi rides. YES, some of them needed Jesus at the wheel! However at the crux of it all, was a learning phase. Season 1 was about understanding the culture, not just the taxi industry and how it works, but for me as a " Mosotho (someone from Lesotho) the Zulu culture, where language had proven a barrier to getting where I need to be. I entered Season 1 with an attitude that said,

"Hey Taxi Driver, you will take me a where I need to go, and no, I don't need to understand isiZulu to get there". This proved to be an epic failure, because in hindsight I discovered that my tribal pride and ignorance would not get me very far, especially if I intend to get far with Taxi Driver Sipho. (By the way, that is not his real name, but you will find out more about him in the next episode.) In 2019 as Season 2 kicks off, I'm happy to learn, teach and empower; learn a bit of isiZulu, teach my listeners (and now my readers) a few words along the way as well, and empower myself and others with a lesson about tolerance in a world of indifference. Join me every Friday for Lunch with Thabi from 11am-2pm for the next exciting episode of Taxi Chronicles, exclusive to 88FM (Taxi Chronicles will air at 12:30 during the show.)

THE 2-HOUR MUSIC MIX: 9-11AM No talk, just great music - that's the promise with 88FM's exclusive 2-Hour Music Mix, helping you zone in distraction-free as you get to grips with your day. Apart from ad breaks and emergency announcements, it's all about the music: showcasing 88FM's unparalleled musical variety and impeccable playlist curation stretching from the late 60's to the present day.

LUNCH WITH THABI: 11AM-2PM Bringing a feminine touch to the weekday lineup, Thabi Hlalele hosts the midday show that has become the heartbeat of the station. Focusing on feelgood facts, community causes, humorous tales and inspiring conversations, Lunch With Thabi is the perfect way to get through that midday slump with a smile as you roll into the second half of the day.

THE COFFEE BREAK: 2-4PM Tune in and join seasoned broadcaster Dave Charles for an extended coffee break as he shoots the breeze and fills you in on the day's happenings. Bringing the voice of expereince to 88FM, Dave serves up an easy-going snack platter of lifestyle features, good

HARLEY DAVIDSON GOES ELECTRIC

H

ARLEY-DAVIDSON introduced its first ever electric motorcycle at the CES tech tradeshow 2019 in Las Vegas last week.

The ‘twist-and-go’ bike ditches the traditional shifters and chirps out a turbine-like whir in lieu of the characteristic rumble – but with its ease of use, swift acceleration, and agile handling, the firm is hoping to win over new riders and long-time Harley owners alike. Called LiveWire, Harley’s first EV can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 3.5 seconds and hit a top speed of around 180km/h with a range of 200 km of mixed urban and highway driving. LiveWire is already selling in America and will launch in Canada and most of Europe later this year. Anthony Mans from Harley Umhlanga is confident that it will be available locally by 2020. Even at a quick glance, Harley’s latest motorcycle is a standout from its previous models. ‘Because it’s all-electric, it’s twist-and-go,’ Paul James, PR Manager at HarleyDavidson, explained at the Las Vegas Convention Centre. ‘There’s no transmission, there are no shifters, no clutch – it’s very easy to ride.’ LiveWire is equipped with a full suite of electronic lateral aids, incorporating a slew of sensors and programmable touch controls. It also has cellular connectivity, making it the first mass market motorcycle in North America with the capability. This means it can alert the owner if the bike is being tampered with or moved. It also has built-in GPS for location tracking. While it’s easy to see how the sleek EV bike might attract new riders, the motorcycle will be a drastic change for those who have grown accustomed to the traditional Harley-Davidson style. But, the firm says it’s so far been well received.
