As the season of Thanksgiving approaches, we find ourselves reflecting on the many things we are grateful for this year. At Lebanon City Lifestyle, we recognize that our journey would not be possible without your unwavering support and enthusiasm. You are not just our readers and partners; you are the heart of our community.
This year, we have made a concerted effort to sow seeds in the communities we serve and love. Through our various initiatives, we aim to nurture connections, inspire creativity, and celebrate the rich tapestry of voices that make up our town. Your participation in these endeavors has been invaluable, and we are deeply thankful for your contributions.
Thanksgiving is a time when we gather around tables filled with food and stories, sharing in the warmth of companionship. Food has a unique way of bringing people together, transcending barriers and fostering connections. Just as a welltended garden yields a bountiful harvest, our collective efforts in cultivating community have resulted in beautiful collaborations and meaningful relationships.
We are thankful for the vibrant conversations, the shared experiences, and the passion that you bring to our shared mission. It is your support that empowers us to explore new ideas and to amplify voices, ensuring that our literary landscape remains rich and rooted.
As we gather with loved ones this Thanksgiving, let us celebrate not only the food on our tables but also the connections that nourish our spirits. We invite you to reflect on the seeds we have sown together and to dream of the many harvests still to come.
From my family and our LCL family, thank you for being a part of our journey. We look forward to continuing to grow and thrive together.
Wishing you and your family a warm and joyful Thanksgiving! JANUARY ALEXANDER,

The Bone family's journey in raising awareness and funds for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation began over 25 years ago, inspired by personal experiences with these chronic illnesses. This year marked a special milestone: the 10th anniversary of “Team Kate,” named after Hal and Tracey Bone’s daughter, who was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at just five years old. In recognition of their dedicated supporters, the family decided to host a Farm to Table Dinner, transforming gratitude into a vibrant community celebration.
Hal Bone’s battle with Crohn’s disease began at the tender age of nine. The family's commitment intensified when Kate received her diagnosis, followed by the recent news that their youngest son, Owen, was also diagnosed. This family history has fueled their determination to find a cure, leading to the rebranding of “Team Kate” to “Team K.O.” — “Knock Out Crohn’s disease.” Their personal stakes are not just a family challenge; they symbolize the urgent need for awareness and funding.
At the heart of this event was an intimate gathering set in the picturesque Cedar Springs at Bone Hollow venue. Guests savored locally sourced cuisine while learning about the challenges of living with Crohn's and colitis. The atmosphere buzzed with a sense of community, as attendees connected through shared experiences and the common goal of supporting those affected by these diseases. Katherine Elizabeth Bone, now 15, shared her thoughts on the importance of family and community support, stating, “Growing up with Crohn’s Disease has been difficult, but my family’s encouragement and the community’s support give me hope.”
A standout feature of the evening was the culinary artistry of Chef Mariano Cebrián from Panoram Asados, an Argentinean culinary team known for their commitment to community-focused dining experiences. Hal and Tracey discovered Chef Cebrián at another Farm

to Table event in Leiper’s Fork and were captivated by his approach to food as a means of bringing people together. His team prepared a spectacular menu highlighting local ingredients, showcasing the flavors of the region while fostering a sense of collaboration and fellowship among guests.
Looking ahead, the Bone family plans to expand the event’s reach, opening ticket sales to the public next year. They are continually improving the Cedar Springs venue to enhance guest experiences while ensuring
Gratitude permeated the evening, with the Bone family acknowledging their supporters and partners, including local vendors like Demeter’s Common and Polly Sparrow Bakery, who played a significant role in the event's success. Feedback from attendees highlighted the event’s ability to unite the community around a vital cause. Many appreciated the opportunity to learn more about Crohn’s and colitis while enjoying an evening of delicious food and camaraderie. Remarkably, fundraising efforts saw a 25% increase this year, a testament to the event’s impact and the community's support.
The Bone family aims to spread awareness about these diseases and invite others affected to find solace in community connections. They encourage individuals to get involved through donations and by participating in local events, like the upcoming “Take Steps” walk in Nashville. As the Bone family reflects on their journey, they remain hopeful for a future where Crohn’s and colitis no longer dictate the lives of those affected.

We caught up with City of Lebanon Economic and Community Development Director, Sarah Haston to give you a deeper look at how your holiday shopping choices impact our town directly! As a resident since 2010, joining her husband who grew up here, Sarah says Lebanon has been a beautiful place to raise their two children.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY OF LIVING IN LEBANON DURING THE CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY SEASON?
The annual tree lighting ceremony. My kids sang in their school choir, making it a magical experience for us all. It's a special event that I help plan, and it marks the start of the holiday season in Lebanon.
WHAT ROLE DO LOCAL BUSINESSES PLAY IN COMMUNITY SUPPORT?
Many employers and employees are active members of our schools and local organizations. Local businesses sponsor youth sports, fundraisers, and non-profits; their contributions are vital for community events and development.
HOW DOES SHOPPING LOCAL AFFECT JOBS IN LEBANON?
Local businesses are the backbone of our job market providing the majority of jobs here. Local businesses employ residents, fostering economic stability, often also hiring local high school students and college students from Cumberland University,
which helps to circulate income and spending within our community.
HOW DOES SHOPPING LOCALLY CONTRIBUTE TO THE TOWN?
Shopping local is crucial, especially during the holiday season. When you buy from local businesses, most tax dollars remain within Lebanon, supporting our budget for public safety, infrastructure, and parks. This creates a sustainable cycle that strengthens our community. Shopping local is a powerful way to support our economy while fostering connections and ensuring Lebanon remains a vibrant place to live and work.

THE INSPIRING JOURNEY OF THE SKIN LAB INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
“
“We’ve introduced new services and educational programs in our area, it’s rewarding to see others following our lead.”
In a world where beauty can be seen as superficial, The Skin Lab is proof that beauty is beyond skin deep, leading as a harbinger of empowerment throughout the community. Beyond esthetics, owner Niki Green continues to reach for more ways to grow and love people, exemplified again in 2022 with the launch of The Skin Lab internship, a program that bridges the gap between classroom education and real-world experience for aspiring aestheticians.
The internship was born from Niki’s deep love for medical aesthetics and a desire to support new aestheticians. She recognized that the foundational education in aesthetic schools often leaves graduates with only the basics—enough to pass their boards but not enough for real-world success.
“The education you receive in aesthetic school is just the tip of the iceberg,” she explains. The program allows participants to experience the intricacies of skin consultation, clinical recommendations, and operational tasks, setting them up for a successful career.
Structured as a two-month immersive experience, the internship offers a day of education and shadowing each week. Interns develop technical and soft skills essential for leadership. The application process is straightforward yet selective; aspiring interns submit their résumés and professional social media links online, with candidates chosen based on leadership potential, communication skills, and positivity.
The impact of this internship is evident in its participants’ success stories and community feedback. Many have transitioned into roles on the medical aesthetics team after completing the program.
One intern noted, “Before joining, I struggled to get interviews. After the program, I had multiple offers,” while another said, “The skills learned here have been instrumental in my career.”
A proud milestone is the introduction of an annual scholarship to offer deserving applicants the chance to participate in the program, underscoring their commitment to inclusivity.
Beyond the internship, Niki is committed to community service. Her team donates beauty services to nursing homes and organizes events for seniors, to the Celebrating Lovely special needs pageant, and much more.
The community initiatives have also garnered appreciation, with local organizations recognizing The Skin Lab’s commitment to uplifting those in need.
“We’ve introduced new services and educational programs in our area, and it’s rewarding to see others following our lead,” Niki notes, excited to inspire others in the industry to engage in similar programs.
Niki’s passion stems from her personal beliefs. “I am driven by faith and the desire to create a positive environment for everyone involved,” she shares. Her commitment to giving back is not just professional but deeply personal: “I’ve experienced the power of community support, and I want to extend that to others.”
Looking ahead, Niki plans to expand The Skin Lab internship program and host a four-year anniversary celebration featuring community engagement activities. The team is particularly excited for an upcoming holiday donation drive, where they will match community donations item for item.
Through its innovative internship program and community outreach, The Skin Lab is not just a medical aesthetics spa; it’s a nurturing ground for future leaders.

what it is today. “We’ve learned from every experience, and as we mature, I assure you that the next phase will be phenomenal,” he shares. His philosophy emphasizes that law is fundamen-
ering commitment to his community. Starting his law firm at just 31, Todd had only two years of legal experience, but he was fueled by a vision to challenge the status quo in Lebanon. His ambition was to create a firm that was not only sustainable but also deeply rooted in service.
Todd’s family history deeply impacted his professional ethos. Growing up in a multi-generational business that began in 1909, he learned invaluable lessons about hard work, collaboration, and community service. Saturdays spent at estate auctions were not just a family tradition, they formed the foundation for a career dedicated to uplifting others. His grandfather, Carl Hobbs, instilled in him the importance of wisdom and compassion—values that continue to guide Todd today.
Reflecting on his journey, Todd acknowledges the highs and lows that have shaped Tressler Associates into
tally about serving the public and protecting their rights rather than merely being a transactional endeavor.
Initially drawn to the legal profession through a combination of fate and faith, Todd transitioned from a planned medical career to law after gaining invaluable insights from local practitioners. This pivotal decision was inspired by the liberating nature of the legal field, which allowed him to engage with his community in meaningful ways.
As Todd looks to the future, he remains dedicated to fostering an approachable and client-focused environment, poised to make a lasting impact in the legal landscape. His journey is a reminder that with determination and purpose, one can uplift and empower others through service.

In an era where self-care is more vital than ever, Carlie and Jamey Morrison, the dynamic duo behind Restoration Wellness, are redefining what it means to prioritize oneself. With a shared commitment to holistic health and community service, their journey began during the pandemic, a period that inspired them to channel their talents into a practice that reflects their values.
Carlie Morrison, FNP-BC, and Jamey Morrison, DNP, CRNA, launched Restoration Wellness as a response to both personal calling and community need. After years of dedicated service in healthcare—Carlie as a high-risk labor and delivery nurse and Jamey as a nurse anesthetist—realized that their skills could create a sanctuary for healing and growth. The idea crystallized during a time of uncertainty; they sought to serve others by using the gifts they believe were divinely bestowed upon them. Their practice is not just a business; it's a mission to restore health in all dimensions—physically, mentally, spiritually, and emotionally.
At Restoration Wellness, every service is designed with the whole person in mind. From innovative weight loss programs and regenerative medicine therapies to aesthetic treatments, the clinic offers something for everyone. New offerings, like a cellulite treatment and the unique “salmon polynucleotide” microneedling facial, reflect their commitment to staying ahead of wellness trends while ensuring each client feels cared for and valued. What truly sets Restoration apart is the atmosphere. From the moment you step through the door, you're welcomed by warm smiles and uplifting gospel music, creating an environment that feels like home. This personalized touch extends to their unique business model; by operating as a cash-pay practice, they eliminate insurance hurdles, fostering direct relationships between providers and clients.
As a husband-and-wife team, Carlie and Jamey navigate the challenges of running a business together while raising a family. Their faith serves as the cornerstone of both their marriage and their practice, allowing them to prioritize what truly matters—family, community, and their shared purpose. They emphasize the importance of balance, encouraging others to pause and appreciate life’s small moments amidst their busy schedules.
Restoration Wellness isn't just about individual transformation; it actively contributes to the community. The Morrisons support local charities, including initiatives for first responders and veterans, and organize yearly toy drives for children in need. Their commitment to service is reflected in the profound impact they’ve had on their patients, with success stories ranging from significant weight loss to reversing chronic diseases and fostering mental health recovery.

Griswold Illumination is more than just a Christmas light business; it’s a dream turned reality for owner Joe Shearer. With an extensive background in landscaping and a passion for festive decoration, Joe has crafted a unique niche in Lebanon and beyond.
Joe's journey began at the Grand Ole Opry, where he supervised the horticulture department and honed his skills in holiday decorating. When the pandemic prompted the dissolution of his department, Joe took a leap of faith and started his own
landscape and Christmas lighting business, leveraging the relationships he built at the Opry to bring back holiday magic.
For Joe, the joy of his work comes not from the lights themselves, but from the awe they inspire in children and families. “The absolute best part is receiving photos from clients of their kids marveling at their beautifully lit homes,” he shares. “Seeing their delight when they return from school or work makes it all worthwhile.”
Whether it’s a surprise for a spouse or a festive display for the neighborhood, Joe believes in bringing the wonder of Christmas to every family he serves.
Griswold Illumination operates throughout the greater Nashville area for both commercial and residential services, offering services that range from simple roof lighting to elaborate installations complete with garlands and trees. Two of his most notable projects include The Grand Ole Opry and General Mills.
Joe’s team transforms homes with everything from simple roof lighting to elaborate decorations that include garlands, wreaths, and glowing trees. He finds beauty in every encounter, treating everyone like a celebrity, because in his eyes, every person matters.
Beyond the holiday season, Joe owns and operates Shady Landscaping LLC, where he has dedicated over 22 years to mastering the art of plants and landscaping. His commitment to quality and service stems from his Christian values, prioritizing love for his neighbors over profits, “It’s not about making money; it’s about bringing joy.”
Having moved to Lebanon with his wife for a bigger backyard his two sons could enjoy, Joe appreciates the smalltown feel that mirrors his Pennsylvania roots, “Lebanon has that same charm,” he says. As the holiday season approaches, Joe’s mission remains clear: to spread Christmas cheer and illuminate the world around him, one home at a time.

“Each act of kindness helps build a stronger, more nourished community, fostering hope and resilience for all”.
In a world where food insecurity continues to rise, Joseph's Storehouse stands as a source of hope for families in need. Founded in 1996 by Bob and Peggy Evans as Love One Another Embassy, Inc. (LOAE), this faith-based ministry initially focused on international missions, providing both physical and spiritual nourishment across the globe. However, it was in 1999 that the Joseph’s Storehouse Food Ministry— operating under LOAE—began its vital work in our community.
Recognizing the pressing need for an ongoing feeding program in Wilson County, Bob and Peggy took a significant step. They purchased groceries for the first of what would become regular monthly food distributions, starting with just 22 small boxes of food and two volunteers. Fast forward to today, and that humble beginning has blossomed into a robust operation with over 600 big yellow wheelbarrows full of food distributed each month, supported by more than 100 dedicated volunteers.
The journey has not been without its challenges. To accommodate the growing need, Joseph's Storehouse has expanded its facilities multiple times, including the construction of an additional warehouse in Spring 2014.
Bob retired in early 2017 due to declining health and passed away in March 2018. Peggy continued
to lead the organization until her retirement in June 2020, after which the board elected their son-in-law, Benny Nolen, as the new Executive Director. The Evans' legacy of compassion and service continues to inspire all involved.
This year alone, Joseph's Storehouse has touched the lives of 6,415 families, reaching an impressive 18,204 individuals—a remarkable 25.2% increase from 2023 and a staggering 90.6% rise since 2022. The organization's heart swells with gratitude for the outpouring of community support, whether through volunteering, food drives, or financial contributions.
Joseph's Storehouse remains fiercely devoted to its mission of feeding the world around us one soul at a time, distributing more than one million pounds of food and toiletry items valued at more than $100,000 each year. Every act of kindness—big or small—helps build a stronger, more nourished community not only providing food but fostering hope, resilience, and a brighter future for all. Living by the words of Matthew 25:40, in as much as you have done unto the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me, Joseph's Storehouse continues to make a profound difference in the lives of many.

As the end of the calendar year draws near, there’s still time for you to implement four smart and timely financial strategies.
Financial advising is meaningful work that allows me to make a lasting positive impact in the lives of those I serve. Compassionate guidance and clear, tailored advice can bring clients confidence especially during challenging times like the loss of a spouse or family member, divorce, or a late-life career change, including retirement. By educating clients and providing them with clear, strategic guidance and direction, I’m able to help them build a foundation for long-term success, improve financial well-being and, by extension, quality of life.
I enjoy empowering individuals and families to make informed decisions as we partner together and work toward helping them achieve financial independence and security. Seeing my clients enjoy their retirement or fulfill lifelong goals and dreams due to the strategies I’ve helped them implement is deeply fulfilling.
I am passionate about helping to make Lebanon better by taking an active role in organizations with a common interest of improving our city and county and the lives of its residents.
As I am prompted to reflect on what I am thankful for this season regarding my work, I appreciate the trust my clients place in me to guide important financial decisions while helping them achieve their financial goals. The meaningful relationships I develop are a bonus, my clients have become like extended family. I have attended family gatherings, birthday parties, graduations, weddings, even funerals.

Consult your tax professional to determine if any of these techniques are appropriate for your circumstances.
1. Maximize Your Charitable Contributions
Year-end donations can provide significant tax benefits. Exploring strategies like donor-advised funds (DAFs) as a vehicle for charitable giving or donating appreciated assets like stocks, for example, can help you avoid capital gains taxes while receiving a tax deduction.
Employ
Reviewing your investment portfolio for tax-loss harvesting opportunities can be a great way to offset capital gains by selling underperforming assets. Additionally, rebalancing your portfolio to align with your long-term goals while taking advantage of unrealized losses is another way to optimize tax savings
Consider Roth IRA
While converting traditional individual retirement account (IRA) funds into a Roth IRA triggers income taxes in the current year, the benefit is tax-free growth and withdrawals in the future. This can be a useful strategy if you’re anticipating higher future taxes or looking to reduce your taxable estate and leave a more tax-efficient inheritance to your heirs
4. Review Family and Partnership Trusts:
The end of the year can be a good time for you to review any trusts you’ve established. This will allow you to establish whether the terms you have in place for business succession plans, gifting of assets, and wealth transfers are still aligned with your estate planning goals and current tax laws.

Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle with fresh herbs. Serve with crackers or fresh vegetables. Enjoy!
