Thankful for you, Naples
In this season of giving thanks, we often find ourselves reflecting on the many blessings in our lives. The true spirit of Thanksgiving encourages the conscious expression of gratitude. Its focus is spending time with those that you love and encourages giving back in a meaningful way. While ambition, competition and slaying goals can be very healthy, forgetting to place importance on being present, enjoying the ride and appreciating those around us that have helped us along in our journey, can leave us missing out on what truly matters. We’ll never be content if we look outside ourselves and at our possessions or titles to determine if we are fulfilled. True contentment comes from within and from fulfilling who we were made to be.
My journey to Naples is a complicated one. After a lifetime in the hospitality business, I was searching for a challenge and a destination that offered me kindness and opportunity. Along with my partner, Tina Hallet, we've found a home, growing multiple businesses, and have found extended friends and family in every corner of Naples. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all.
Our November issue is dedicated to stories of gathering, gratefulness and giving back to our community. We are so thankful for the residents and businesses in our community who support so many wonderful organizations and help make our city the vibrant community that it is. We are especially thankful for our advertising partners who help bring this magazine to your doorsteps each month. They are part of our vision and purpose of bringing inspiring stories and the good news of the community directly to you. This holiday season as we prepare to gather with our loved ones, and in the true spirit of thanksgiving, let’s set time aside to consider what truly makes life meaningful and stop to reflect on those blessings.
Blessings to you and your family

NAVIGATING COMPASSION AND COMMUNITY ON THE WATER

Best Kept Secret of Non-ProfitsFreedom Waters Foundation Providing Therapeutic Boating Experiences
In the serene coastal city of Naples, Florida, a beacon of hope and joy has been quietly transforming lives for nearly two decades. Since its inception in 2006, Freedom Waters Foundation has dedicated itself to enhancing the well-being of children, adults with disabilities, life-threatening illnesses, youth at risk and veterans through therapeutic boating experiences. With an unwavering mission to provide safety, love, and fun, the foundation has become a cornerstone of the community, embodying a spirit of compassion.
The foundation's impact is nothing short of remarkable. Despite a small team of three full-time and two part-time employees, Freedom Waters Foundation orchestrated over 4,600 on-the-water experiences last year alone. These outings cater to individuals with special needs, life-threatening illnesses, youth at risk, and veterans, offering them a unique blend of adventure, relaxation, and therapeutic benefits. This feat is made possible through the tireless efforts of over 300 volunteers and the generosity of private and commercial boat owners who provide their vessels for these heartwarming excursions.
Founder/Executive Director Debra Frenkel, LCSW states, "Our front mission is what you see in print - to enhance the well-being of children and adults with disabilities and veterans by providing therapeutic boat experiences. My personal back mission is to build a greater sense of community, understanding and tolerance for all individuals' uniqueness. Love and joy for all to the best of their ability.”
Each boating experience facilitated by Freedom Waters Foundation is more than just a day on the water; it is a journey of healing and connection. Participants, many of whom face daily challenges that can feel isolating, find solace on these trips. The gentle sway of the boat, the

fresh sea breeze, and the supportive company of volunteers and fellow participants create a therapeutic environment where worries can be momentarily set aside, and pure joy can be embraced. Worries can be left on the dock after adversity. "Freedom Waters Foundation changed my life. This water therapy really does work." Wilfredo Vasquez, Army Veteran who suffered with PTSD and a TBI, and became a volunteer. "If it weren't for Freedom Waters Foundation, I might not be here or probably dead. That first boat ride changed my life."
The foundation's work extends beyond the boating experiences. It fosters long-term positive impacts on the mental and emotional well-being of its participants. Children with disabilities discover newfound confidence, veterans experience a sense of peace and community, and individuals battling illnesses find moments of respite and hope. These outings often serve as a reminder of the beauty and possibilities of life, even in the face of adversity.
One of the foundation's most significant fundraisers, the Kind Mariners Ball, epitomizes the community's support and the foundation's commitment to its mission. This annual gala, which includes both virtual and in-person components, serves as a critical fundraiser, ensuring that Freedom Waters Foundation can continue to offer its invaluable services.
The event not only raises essential funds but also brings together a diverse group of supporters, highlighting the shared values of inclusivity and philanthropy that are so deeply ingrained in the Naples community.
Our community here in Naples is known for its beautiful landscapes and vibrant community spirit, finds in Freedom Waters Foundation a true representation of its best qualities. The foundation's dedication to enriching lives through therapeutic boating is a testament to what can be achieved when a community comes together with a shared vision of compassion and support. Imagine a child with cancer at the helm of the boat smiling and shouting, "I'm free." Or a Vietnam veteran stopping a Freedom Waters Foundation staff member and with tears in his eyes, saying, "Thank you. This is the nicest thing anyone has done for me since I came home."
As Freedom Waters Foundation looks towards the future, its commitment to serving those in need remains steadfast. With the continued support of the Naples community, the foundation is poised to create even more memorable experiences on the water, ensuring that every participant feels valued, supported, and loved. For more information about their mission and upcoming events, visit Freedom Waters Foundation and mark your calendars for the Kind Mariners Ball on February 20th, 2025.

ARTICLE BY CITY LIFESTYLE NAPLES | PHOTOGRAPHY PROVIDED
Ocean Prime Del Mar
One of the most celebrated restaurant brands in Southwest Florida is Cameron Mitchell Restaurants. The group founded two distinguished concepts with locations here in Naples, Ocean Prime and Del Mar, both on elegant 5th Avenue South.
Ocean Prime is a nationally acclaimed, dynamic seafood and steakhouse located next to the Inn on Fifth. From the moment you step into the restaurant, you are greeted with a warm, contemporary ambiance that sets the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. The stunning Lounge is a focal point, offering a perfect spot for pre-dinner cocktails or a casual gathering with friends.
Chef Vladimir Trivunovic and his team prepare every dish from scratch. Ocean Prime is best known for its menu of seafood and prime cuts of steak, signature cocktails, a Wine Spectatorhonored wine list with bottles famously displayed throughout the restaurant and genuine hospitality. Guests can also choose from lighter fare, such as the Shellfish Cobb Salad and sushi, or more indulgent items such as the Custom Built “Smoking” Shellfish Tower, a variety of steaks and the signature Ten-Layer Carrot Cake.
With its five-star hospitality, exquisite menu, and elegant atmosphere, Ocean Prime is more than just a restaurant—it’s a destination for those who appreciate the finer things in life.
Down the street along vibrant 5th Avenue is Del Mar, a lively Mediterranean-inspired restaurant that has become a favorite, award-winning dining spot since opening nearly three years ago.
The restaurant's interior exudes a warm, coastal charm, with bright, airy spaces that are perfect for both casual meals and special occasions.
The open kitchen design allows diners to catch a glimpse of Chef Alejandra Landin’s culinary team at work, adding a dynamic energy to the dining experience. Outdoor seating is also available on their two-level terrace, offering a delightful option for enjoying the Florida sunshine while savoring a delicious meal.
The culinary offerings are diverse and delightful, ranging from shareable small plates to hearty entrees. Standout dishes include the Charred Octopus, served with a bell pepper vinaigrette that perfectly complements its smoky flavor, and the Lamb Rack Tagine, a tender and flavorful dish accompanied by seasonal squash. Seafood lovers will appreciate the Branzino, expertly grilled and served with olive oil crushed potatoes, radicchio, frisee and lemon caper vinaigrette.
The restaurant also boasts an impressive selection of wines, featuring local and international labels, and a creative cocktail menu. The signature cocktails, like the Hibiscus Mule or the 5th Avenue Margarita, are crafted with the same attention to detail as the dishes, providing the perfect accompaniment to the Mediterranean flavors.
Del Mar is an experience that transports you to the sun-drenched coasts of the Mediterranean. With its exceptional food, welcoming atmosphere, and attentive service, Del Mar is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy the best of Naples' dining scene.
Both Ocean Prime and Del Mar Naples provide exceptional dining experiences. Whether you’re in the mood for a luxurious steakhouse experience or a Mediterranean seafood feast, these restaurants promise something memorable. Visit CameronMitchell.com to make your next reservation.

YOUTH HAVEN’S $20 MILLION CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

For over five decades, Youth Haven has stood as a beacon of hope for abused, neglected, and homeless children in the Naples community. As this trusted sanctuary approaches its 53rd year, the

time has come for a significant transformation. The organization is embarking on an ambitious $20 million Capital Campaign, Building Hope for Tomorrow, aimed at replacing its aging central facility—a 53-year-old building that has served as the heart of its operations.
WHY NOW?
The need for this campaign is urgent. The current facility, though cherished by all who have passed through its doors, is no longer adequate to meet the demands of modern care. Structural wear and tear, outdated infrastructure, and limited space are hindering Youth Haven’s ability to provide the highest level of care to the vulnerable children who rely on its services. The construction of a new building isn’t just about updating an old structure; it’s about creating an environment where healing and growth can truly take place.
structural challenges while offering a dynamic and inclusive space for campus life. This building will be more than just a place to stay; it will be a symbol of hope and renewal, designed to meet the unique needs of each child who calls Youth Haven home. From modern classrooms and therapy rooms to spaces dedicated to art, music, and recreation, every inch of this facility will be purpose-built to foster a nurturing and healing environment.
In a remarkable show of community support, MHK, one of Naples’ top architecture firms, has generously committed to donating their architecture and engineering services pro bono. Additionally, Lynn Lombardi, of LDL Interiors, is donating her interior design expertise pro bono. These incredible acts of generosity not only underscore the community’s belief in Youth Haven’s mission but also ensure that the facility will be designed and furnished with the utmost expertise and care.
KEY COMPONENTS OF THE CAMPAIGN
The Building Hope for Tomorrow campaign is multifaceted, with several key components that will ensure its success:
• Building Construction and Renovation: The campaign’s primary focus is the construction of a new facility that will provide a safe, supportive environment where children can recover, learn, and grow. Thoughtfully designed spaces and modern amenities will ensure that Youth Haven remains a place of dignity and care.
• Technology and Innovation: In a world where technology plays an ever-increasing role in education and therapy, Youth Haven plans to invest in cutting-edge solutions that will enhance the services provided. From digital learning tools to advanced therapeutic resources, these innovations will be integrated into the new facility.
• Endowment Fund: To secure the longterm sustainability of Youth Haven, a portion of the funds will be used to establish an endowment. This fund will ensure that future generations of children in crisis will continue to find refuge at Youth Haven.
• Community Engagement: Recognizing that the strength of any campaign lies in the community that supports it, Youth Haven is actively engaging local partners, businesses, and philanthropists. These collaborations will amplify the campaign’s impact and create a lasting legacy of compassion.
A LASTING IMPACT ON YOUTH HAVEN AND THE COMMUNITY
The Building Hope for Tomorrow campaign, led by Campaign Chair Elizabeth Star, is poised to transform Youth Haven and, by extension, the entire Naples community. The completion of this campaign will enhance Youth Haven’s ability to serve the children who need it most,
IT REPRESENTS AN INVESTMENT IN THE FUTURE OF THE COMMUNITY, ENSURING
THAT YOUTH HAVEN REMAINS A CORNERSTONE OF SUPPORT, COMPASSION, AND HOPE FOR MANY YEARS TO COME.
but its impact will reach far beyond the organization’s walls. It represents an investment in the future of the community, ensuring that Youth Haven remains a cornerstone of support, compassion, and hope for many years to come.
A CALL TO ACTION
As the public phase of the Building Hope for Tomorrow campaign begins, Youth Haven is calling on the community to join this transformative journey. Contributions will help build not just a new facility, but a future filled with hope for the most vulnerable children in Naples. This campaign is more than just a building project; it is a mission to provide the highest standard of care for those who need it most.
The Naples community has always been known for its generosity and commitment to making a difference. Now, more than ever, that spirit is needed to ensure that Youth Haven can continue to be a beacon of hope for generations to come. Your support of the Building Hope for Tomorrow campaign will make a lasting difference in the lives of countless children and create a legacy of compassion that will endure for decades.

Access to wellness is an essential need, not a privilege; this dedicated
hair salon owner proves that selfcare can be a lifeline, offering transformative services to children in need in Africa and redefining hair and scalp wellness as a fundamental right for all.
Christina, owner of House of Blondes by Christina Payton hair salon, joined her husband, Dr. Christopher Ourganian, DC, of Fit for Life Health Services, and another founding member of Global Children’s Health Inc, on her first trip with the charity to Africa in December of 2023. As the anniversary of her first global charity journey approaches, and preparations for a return trip begin, we share a reflection of the time spent there and the impact of the aid brought to over 300 children in four villages by the growing team of international professionals
Global Children’s Health Inc began In 2017 with 2 doctors Since, the team of 21 now includes 15 doctors from over 7 countries, a mental health provider, Christina as a scalp and hair health professional, and other ambitious volunteers that help organize and facilitate aid during the annual week-long journey Medical attention is provided by doctors to children with parasites, ear infections, respiratory infections, urinary blockage, scalp wounds and infections, eye tracking disorders, reflux, constipation, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, abscesses, lingering pain from old fractured bones, cavities causing pain, seizures, bloody noses, abdominal pain, conjunctivitis, diarrhea, hydrocephalus, craniosynostosis, and more
On this most recent trip, while doctors treated the children, Christina provided essential care for the fungal scalp issues that plague the children. Equipped with graciously donated product contributions from major hair brands, she was able to teach healthy hair and scalp habits as well as provide scalp facials and treatments to prevent scalp infections. Additionally, Christina provided the directors of the orphanages and caretakers with education on how to continue keeping the children’s scalps healthy and left them with donated professional after-care products
In a social media post documenting her journey, Christina shared, “The generosity, selflessness, and resilience displayed by these children left an undeniable mark on my soul It challenged my perspective on abundance and gratitude Our goal wasn't to ‘save the world’, but to make a difference I’m so grateful for this opportunity, so proud of the team of doctors and students I'm inspired to continue making a difference supporting Global Children’s Health and sharing this mutual love with my incredible husband Africa, its people, and this journey have left a beautiful mark on my heart ” Christina looks forward to returning for her second journey in early 2025

Joe Logrippo NaplesNICE
What important information about NaplesNICE would you like Naples to be aware of?
NaplesNICE is the standard we are setting for ourselves in the community. We have one of the nicest places on the planet to live, work and play. We need to all act accordingly. It’s incumbent upon us to protect it and preserve it for future generations. It all starts with how we treat each other and how we want to be treated.
Looking ahead, what legacy do you hope to leave behind for future generations both within your family and community?
There are a lot of good people out there and they do really care. I don’t think about my personal legacy, it’s more important to pour into the kids in our community for them to be the difference makers. We want to set them up for success. Everyone talks about the sad state of affairs, but not many are rolling their sleeves up to change it. NaplesNICE is the action.
How do you define success in your life?
This has changed over the years, like most it was money, status, work promotions. Now I look at success as being what am I doing for other people, who and how many people am I helping. What am I adding to my community.

Naples Children Foundation (Naples Winter Wine Festival). It has helped and changed so many lives here in Collier County with our youth. After 24 years you get to hear the success stories of how we have helped and there is not much better than hearing those stories and the differences we made. It takes a village is correct!
Youth Haven is also a great Charity…they have helped so many and I have tried to support that as much as I can.
Community School was one I was involved with since my son was a lifer.
Naples Nice is offering so much to our youth as well. It is nice to see something getting started and seeing the difference it makes at an age that needs to be educated on our area and how to treat people with respect and kindness. Compassion, respect and grace.

Deborah Houk
What legacy do you hope to leave behind for future generations both within your
family and community?
Looking ahead, the legacy I hope to leave behind is one rooted in compassion, service, and a commitment to making a meaningful impact. For my children, I want to be remembered as a mother who loved unconditionally, who taught them the importance of kindness, empathy, and the value of helping others. I hope they grow up with a strong sense of responsibility toward their community, understanding that success is not just about personal achievements but also about lifting others along the way. Within the community, I aspire to leave a legacy of service, particularly in supporting vulnerable populations. Through my work with Youth Haven and other initiatives, I hope to inspire future generations to continue advocating for those who need it most. My goal is to be a part of building a community where every child has the opportunity to thrive, and where healthcare and well-being are accessible to all. I want to leave a lasting impact, not only through my work as a doctor but also by being a leader in creating spaces of safety, support, and opportunity for everyone.
Tell us about a charity you support and why it’s important to you.
I’m deeply passionate about supporting organizations that align with my values. As a Youth Haven board member, Ambassador Circle member, and Co-Chair of the 2025 Starry Nights Gala, I’ve seen firsthand the incredible impact they have on the lives of vulnerable children in our community. Youth Haven provides a safe haven for children who have experienced trauma, giving them the support, resources, and love they need to heal and thrive. Their work resonates with me, not just as a mother but as someone who believes every child deserves a chance to grow in a safe and nurturing environment.
I’m also proud to serve as the SW Florida Circle of Red Co-Chair for the American Heart Association and advocate for the Go Red for Women movement. Heart disease is the number one killer of women, and the AHA’s work in raising awareness, funding research, and promoting heart health is critical. As a member of their executive leadership team, I’m committed to advancing these efforts and empowering women to take charge of their health.
Additionally, I support Seacrest Country Day School, where I serve on the advisory and gala committees. I believe in investing in education and creating enriching environments for children to learn and grow. I’ve also been involved with other local charities through Leadership Collier, which has further deepened my connection to this community.
Each of these causes is important to me because they represent the values I hold dear—compassion, education, and the well-being of others. I’m honored to be a part of organizations that strive to make a lasting, positive impact.

DLC is leading the charge for positive mental health in our community
For more than 55 years, David Lawrence Centers for Behavioral Health (DLC) has served as a lifeline for community members in crisis.
As the leading not-for-profit behavioral health care provider serving Collier County, we work tirelessly to provide compassionate, innovative and affordable care to individuals facing mental health and substance use challenges. Over the years, we have grown with our community, currently providing more than 350,000 lifesaving and life-changing services to 9,000 individuals each year. Yet, we know there is so much more that we can do.
Our community is facing the worst mental health and substance use crisis in its history. These individuals are our family, friends, colleagues and neighbors. They are parents in the school pick-up line, friends of our children and veterans transitioning back to civilian life.
We recognize that it often takes a decade from the first symptom to someone seeking treatment. That’s why education and prevention are paramount to our mission of providing transformational care to individuals in our community, not only in times of crisis.
Over the past few years, DLC has expanded outreach, education and prevention initiatives to provide community partners, leaders and the public with information about how to prioritize mental health. This effort gives access to the vital tools needed to support overall wellness, whether at home, school or in the workplace. Today, we serve 13,000 individuals annually through our prevention and education initiatives.

specialized resources and trainings for parents, such as our Parenting Now and Parenting Teens programs. These valuable programs focus on communication, fostering better cooperation and guiding safe choices.
Our team of certified instructors in the globally recognized Mental Health First Aid certification program arms community members with the key skills to assist someone either developing a mental health problem or experiencing a crisis. This training session offers a five-step action plan to help better understand the risk factors and warning signs of a mental illness, as well as how to effectively support individuals in need.
Additionally, the QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) suicide prevention training provides community members with a deeper
understanding of suicide, warning signs to identify risk, and ways to discuss concerns with others.
At DLC, we are strongly committed to doing our part to end the mental health and substance use crisis in our community.
But we can’t do it alone. From educating themselves on warning signs to supporting DLC’s mission through philanthropic means, everyone has a role to play in creating a healthy community. Your support guarantees we can continue to provide transformative care for years to come.

NAPLES JUNIOR WOMAN’S CLUB

Danielle Viens-Payne, Naples Junior Woman's Club
The Naples Junior Woman's Club (NJWC) has been a part of the Naples community for the last 72 years by Living The Volunteer Spirit. Started as a sister organization of the Naples Woman's Club, Mary Watkins was the first president of NJWC. Both organizations belong to the General Federation of Women's Clubs, an international organization promoting Unity in Diversity, which has been in existence since 1890. More than 60,000 members make up the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. Locally, Naples Junior Woman’s Club notably built the first children’s playground at Cambier Park.
What is the difference between Naples Junior Woman's Club and Naples Woman's Club? The missions of both 501(c)(3) organizations are very similar in promoting volunteerism and philanthropy amongst their members for the betterment of the Naples community. NJWC members meet in the evening of every second Wednesday of the month and hold fundraisers and social events on weekends or weekday evenings after 5pm to allow for those with careers and/or children to attend. Members of NJWC are provided with member only events, member appreciation events, exposure to many local causes with volunteer opportunities, time to be social and network, as well as all the vast resources the General Federation of Women’s Clubs has on leadership.
The Naples Junior Woman’s Club works to partner with other community nonprofits to assist as volunteers for events, collect donations, or help put together events. In the past, NJWC has helped with food packing at Meals of Hope, helped collect food donations for the Grace Place food pantry, collected and assembled Halloween treat bags that included dental hygiene items for the youth with multiple organizations, and collaborated with the Alliance for Period Supplies of SWFL and the Naples Woman’s Club to collect and assemble period supply bags to have on hand for local schools and other nonprofits in positions to help those in need of supplies. NJWC is committed to continuing to assist the community as needs arise.
Within the club, Naples Junior Woman's Club has four scholarships held at Community Foundation of Collier County for local high school seniors every year. Members of the scholarship committee read through applications collected by Community Foundation of Collier County every March and select four deserving students. Fundraisers put on through the year help to fund these scholarships. NJWC hopes to continue offering the scholarships and possibly even growing the amount given.
Fundraising is naturally an important part of maintaining a 501c3 organization and NJWC relies on its members, sponsors, and the community to make the fundraisers successful. Long time, annual fundraisers of the Naples Junior Woman’s Club include the Derby Dash that takes place every first Saturday in May, Bubble Ball in the late summer/ early fall, and the Halloween Trick-Or-Trolley in October. There is great excitement over a brand-new fundraiser that will take place February 1, 2025! More details will be released leading up to the event.
Fundraisers are not the only events put on by the Naples Junior Woman’s Club for its members and the community. Many of the social events through the year are open to the community. One such social will be November 23, 2024, a casual walk through Baker Park for members, their families, friends, and anyone from the community. The club also hosts a Boos and Brews pumpkin painting in October, and a Galentine’s in February.

Naples NICE
FOUNDER JOE LOGRIPPO’S MISSION TO MAKE KINDNESS COOL
ARTICLE BY DAIJA HINOJOSA PHOTOGRAPHY BY SAMANTHA BLOOM & PROVIDED
Can kindness transform a city? Joe Logrippo thinks so. With his Naples NICE campaign, Joe is leading a movement to model for our youth showing them how to build a community that’s rooted in kindness and compassion. And it’s not just another feel-good initiative—Joe is on a mission to make Naples the kindness epicenter in the world.
Joe’s inspiration for Naples NICE came from seeing a troubling shift. Small acts of kindness—once a signature of Naples—were disappearing. From honking horns
to hurried attitudes, everyday courtesies were fading. “Where did the smiles go? Where are the waves?” Joe wondered, realizing that if things didn’t change, the spirit of kindness in Naples would eventually die.
Naples NICE was born from this realization. Joe wanted to go beyond talking about kindness—he wanted to make it a defining feature of Naples’ identity. For him, this movement is about more than creating a positive environment today. It’s about setting an example for young people and showing them that kindness can build a strong, connected community.
Joe is calling on downtown Naples businesses to be leaders in this movement. “Businesses are the heartbeat of our city,” Joe says. “They set the tone for our community.” By joining Naples NICE, businesses can help reshape the city’s culture, showing both locals and visitors that kindness is essential to who we are. Joe believes that when businesses model kindness, they send a powerful message: kindness is not just an option— it’s the way forward.
Businesses can be a visible part of this transformation by proudly displaying Naples NICE stickers and signage. “When customers see that emblem, they’ll know they’re entering a space that values kindness,” Joe explains. He also encourages business owners to inspire
their staff to embody the campaign’s values, creating a ripple effect of kindness throughout the community.
But Naples NICE isn’t just about the present—it’s about shaping the future. Joe envisions a Naples where visitors don’t just admire the beautiful beaches but leave feeling uplifted by the kindness they experienced. His goal is to create a ripple effect that reaches far beyond Naples, showing the world that kindness is as vital to a city’s identity as its physical beauty.
To make this vision a reality, Naples NICE offers simple ways for businesses to get involved. First, display Naples NICE branding in your establishment. Second, inspire your staff to live out the values of kindness in their interactions. Third, join community initiatives like random acts of kindness days, holiday drives, and volunteer opportunities. Finally, spread the word on social media using the hashtag #NaplesNICE.
Throughout the year, Naples NICE will host kindness challenges, inviting businesses and residents to reshape Naples’ culture together. “This isn’t just about making people feel welcome today,” Joe says. “It’s about showing the next generation that kindness is powerful—and cool.”
Join Joe Logrippo and the next generation of leaders and make Naples NICE!
“BUSINESSES ARE THE HEARTBEAT OF OUR CITY,” JOE SAYS. “THEY SET THE TONE FOR OUR COMMUNITY.”

OPERATION HEALING FORCES
Honoring the Sacrifices of America’s Special Operations Families
As the Chief Executive Officer of Operation Healing Forces (OHF), I am proud to continue a career of service following years serving as a National Security and Intelligence Officer. That service gave me a deep understanding of the challenges America's warriors and their families face, and it has been a privilege to channel that experience into leading OHF. I’m incredibly thankful for the opportunity to lead an organization that makes such a meaningful impact on our nation's heroes. With my strong connection to Naples, a community that is home to many veterans and military families, it is especially heartwarming to see such dedication to supporting our nation’s service members. Personally, as the daughter, wife, and mother of military members, I understand firsthand the sacrifices these families make. It is this understanding and my commitment to service that drives my passion for the work we do at OHF every day.
Operation Healing Forces is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization deeply committed to serving America’s Special Operations Forces (SOF) community, providing vital support to those who have sacrificed so much for our nation. Founded by Gary and Denise Markel, who are proud residents of Naples, OHF strives to meet the unique needs of wounded, ill, and injured SOF members, as well as their families, caregivers, and survivors. Our Vice-Chairman, Tony Markel, is also a Naples resident, further rooting our mission within this vibrant community. OHF’s signature programs, such as our Therapeutic Retreats for SOF couples and caregivers, offer a much-needed respite and create lasting connections that promote healing and resilience. Additionally, our Special Operations Additional Resources (SOAR) Program provides immediate hardship crisis support, addressing urgent needs such as medical-related expenses, food insecurity, adaptive and/or recovery equipment, and emergency financial assistance. Naples is home to many military veterans and their families, and being so close to major military installations, the community has a special connection to the armed forces. We are proud to work

alongside Naples residents to ensure that those who have sacrificed for our freedoms receive the care and support they deserve. Through OHF, we are Creating Bonds That Cure and restoring the well-being of these extraordinary service members and veterans, helping them lead fulfilling and productive lives. Our hope is that Naples continues to support our mission, standing united in providing meaningful assistance to our nation's heroes and their families. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the SOF community, while honoring their noble service and immense sacrifices.
