MESSAGE FROM THE CEO

Welcome to Jairo Zuluaga

CEO-Publisher LATINUS Media Network, Corp.

Latinus 20 Under 30 Class of 2017 Honoring Young Latinos Making an Impact on Long Island, NYC, and the World

Today, the population of Latinos in the USA is significantly younger than any other racial or ethnic group. The median age of Latinos is 29, compared to 34 for Afro-Americans, 36 for Asians, and 43 for Caucasians. The share of young U.S.born Latinos is growing. Currently, from 800,000 U.S.-born Latinos a few enter into adulthood each year, and the median age of U.S.-born Latinos is 19. As the Caucasian population ages and baby boomers exit high-skilled jobs in mass, Latino youth are poised to sustain our economic, social, and civic institutions. They will be attending college and filling the jobs the baby boomers depart. They will pay taxes, contribute to Social Security, start businesses, begin families, buy homes, and vote. This population is creating what will be the future of the United States, but at the same time maintaining strong ties with their culture of origin. Thus, developing an ambicultural personality which makes it feel completely American and Hispanic.

In 2017, Latinus Media Network along with Radio La Fiesta 98.5 FM is launching its Latinus 20 Under 30, celebrating and honoring 20 emerging Latinos leaders under 30 years of age. These individuals are making a powerful impact in their fields by exhibiting outstanding leadership, innovation, professional success, and commitment to their community.
