Dulce was on the Dean’s List the fall of 2014. Her academic success is attributed to family and inspirational professors. When her parents divorced it was the strong will and determination of her mother that set the example for Dulce to persevere. This experience shaped the fierce feminist in Dulce. Today she is the first community organizer for SEPA Mujer, Inc. targeted to defend the rights of Latino Immigrant women. She has lead women to action/protest and has demonstrated how to speak out against all injustices. This courage earned her the NYS Rising Latino Star 40 under 40 award. This dream began in 1998 with 23 children at St.

Anne’s in Brentwood. She relocated in September 1998 to the Brentwood Presbyterian Church. Only 3 children attended Shepherd’s Gate on opening day. Undeterred, she pursued the vision she believed to be God’s mission for her contribution in life. July 2001 her daycare relocated to the spacious campus of St. Joseph’s Academy in Brentwood, a partnership with the Sisters of St. Joseph, where she runs a summer program for children ages 5 to 12 year round.
