What is Mollies?
Mollies is a wearable tech product that seamlessly monitors seniors’ health vitals through an insole sensor, which ensures they get attended to at urgent moments in time by their healthcare takers.
How does Mollies work?
The insole sensor records data on he health vitals of senior residents and records it in a software that is accessible by the staff. Staff get notified if an emergency occurs. Residents only have to wear the customizable insole in their own shoe. Link to the pitch deck

Why is Mollies important?
Mollies saves time and effort, by being a ‘just in time’ solution. It makes loved ones live at peace while being away from their senior family members, and helps healthcare staff prioritize patients on a need by need basis. It thus makes residences require less staff and procedures to take vitals.
What is the problem?
63% of the population is above the age of 65 and it’s increasing. Whereas, the ratio of healthcare providers to seniors is 1:40, and the gap is widening. Additionally, caring for loved ones is a tough process that may cause stress and anxiety of family over their loved ones.

Ideation session 1: What if we redesign the cane?
A cane that can help them get up when seated
A cane with better aergonomic design
A smart cane that reads data from the palm
What was the innovation process like?
We conducted ethnographic research and ran a few ideation sesisons. After landing on the problem of ‘shortage of staff in senior homes’, we validated it via a market scan. With interest in emerging technologies, we came up with the wearable tech idea and explored the physical product materiality. We conceptualized the product based on user needs. And inspired by digital products models, we devised the subscription model based on nursing home sizes.
How did you go about designing the software?
We set out to sketch and design the software producing wireframes that we then turned intl high-fidelity conceptual mockups based on the tasks that need to be performed by the healthcare admin in the system and their specific needs.
Main user type:
Nurses / Healthcare practitioners
Role: Admin

What are the key features of the software?
1- It constantly monitors data.
2- Nurses can easily set the dashboards and what they need to track of the patients’ health vitals.
3- Urgent cases are highlighted with a red signal.
4- It’s visually appealing with charts indicating urgent cases and historic progress.
5- It is responsive with a mobile app.
