Besides taking in unwanted animals and giving them necessary care while trying to find good homes, the shelter also provides boarding and grooming services for pet owners. So don’t miss out! Come out and have a great night for a great cause. The action goes on until the wee hours and we promise you this is truly a night to remember! For more information, call 494-2284.

Tinker Bell: The Secret of the Wings how to fix her wings. Queen Clarion (Anjelica Huston), arrives too, and explains to the girls that they can never see each other again. As the girls go their separate ways, the snow-maker gets knocked into the stream, and creates a snowstorm. Later that day, Queen Clarion tried to make Tinker Bell understand why the rule about not crossing the border was so important, and so did Lord Milori with Periwinkle. They tell the story of two fairies who fell deeply in love, but were from the different worlds. One of the fairies crossed the border and broke a wing; an injury for which there was no cure. Just as the Queen finishes her side of the tale, it begins to snow, causing a commotion. The seasons become thrown out of balance, and the life of the Pixie Dust Tree comes into question; if it becomes too cold, it will freeze and stop producing Pixie Dust. Tinker Bell flies straight to the Winter Woods, and asks Periwinkle why the flower was still alive. Gliss explains that frost tucks warm air inside, and Periwinkle suggests that they could frost the Pixie Dust Tree before the cold comes. As they race to save the Pixie Dust Tree and save Pxie Hallow, Tink and Periwinkle realize the Secret of the Wings.
After another season of creating snowflake baskets for the snowy owls to take across the border to the Winter Woods, Tinker Bell's (Mae Whitman) curiosity grows about the fairies that live there. One day Tink temporarily crosses the border into the forbidden land and realizes her wings are sparkling. Determined to figure out why her wings reacted that way, she checks out a book in the fairy library only to be told the author lives in the Winter Woods. Tink sneaks back over to find the author, the Keeper, Dewey (Jeff Bennett) but finds Periwinkle (Lucy Hale) instead, whose wings also have begun to sparkle. As it turns out, Tink and Peri are fairy sisters, "born of the same laugh." But the rules passed down from the fairy leaders insist they remain apart in their own lands, a law both sisters intend to defy at all costs. The next day, Tinker Bell arrives at the border with Bobble and Clank, pulling along a snow-maker. Now able to keep Periwinkle cold enough, Peri's crosses the border to the 'warm' side of Pixie Hollow. She meets Tinker Bell's friends and continues her tour of the warm side of Pixie Hollow. She then frosts a flower that Tink and her friends gave to her as a gift, hoping to keep it forever, until Tink noticed Periwinkle's wings wilting. The snow-maker was running out of ice, and there wasn't enough snow to keep Peri cold, so Tink and Periwinkle return to the border. Lord Milori (Timothy Dalton), appears and instructs Periwinkle

Motive Returns For Second Season Of ‘Whydunits’ There is something infinitely appealing about Kristin Lehman. The 41-year-old Toronto native has an air about her that makes you want to just sit quietly and listen to whatever she’s saying. Her character, Detective Angie Flynn, however, tends to do her best work while listening. It’s a beautiful balance that seems to help guide Motive, which returns for its second season Wednesday, May 21, on ABC. The Canadian-made police procedural drama takes full advantage of Lehman’s charms as it weaves its way through the picturesque cityscapes of Vancouver. And it does so via a peculiar take on the procedural format: It tells you right up front who did it — similar to classic “Columbo” — and spends the rest of the time searching for the “Why?” “Instead of the traditional ‘whodunit,’ we have a ‘whydunit,’ ” says executive producer Rob LaBelle. “It’s unique. It tends to draw people in, and then they stick around. It engages the viewer, and it’s challenging.” In a good way. “Our killers are regular people,” adds LaBelle. “They’re not criminals. They’re not gangbangers or violent thugs or drug dealers. They are ordinary people who are driven by extraordinary circumstance to commit the most heinous of acts — taking the life of another human being.”
The show looks and feels like a motion picture, which is pretty astounding. But without the strong presence of Lehman, along with co-stars Louis Ferreira, Brendan Penny and Lauren Holly, it might ring a bit hollow. With the success of Season 1 still fresh in their minds, many people would say, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Nevertheless, the producers decided to add a couple of new characters to the mix. The main addition is Sgt. Mark Cross (Warren Christie). He and Flynn have a past. “They were rookie partners out of the academy and also had a relationship,” says Lehman. “And when it ended, it ended poorly. ... Suddenly they’re thrust together professionally, as he is her acting boss.”

Life on the Seas I went out on a day sail recently, and as we picked up the boat, it reminded me of when I first arrived in the Caribbean and worked for The Moorings, as a first mate and chef on a crewed charter yacht. As a newbie at the time, what I hadn’t anticipated was how much planning goes into a crewed charter where everything is provided from gourmet meals, cocktails, fine wines, snacks, fruit and anything else a guest may have requested prior to their trip. When you are looking at up to six people on a yacht for a week plus crew, this mounts up to an awful lot of stuff that needs to be packed and stored away – and before you leave the dock, the yacht’s storage lockers “What on earth am I going to make for dessert!”

Ask Koren Your personal E-therapist, is in the house!
TheAsk PowerKoren Of Words When Someone Is Grieving The pain of losing a loved one is something most of us have experienced and when someone we know is going through that kind of grief, we want to help. The easiest thing for us is to say something comforting, but in our eagerness to be reassuring, we might blurt out the wrong thing and that could do more harm than good. Here are some examples of things to avoid saying: • It was God’s plan. Seriously? Did God tell you that it was his plan to take the woman’s husband of 15 years? Saying that could really shake someone’s faith if they are hanging onto your words for hope. • You can have more children. Children are not replaceable and even if you are a medical doctor, you don’t know that they can have more children. Some women might even be thinking, “do I want to go through this again”? • I know exactly how you feel. Do you? How do you know when you are not standing in their shoes? Even if you have lost a dad yourself, that does not mean you know exactly how they feel. • It’s time to pull yourself together. People grieve differently based on their personality, the relationship with the deceased and other factors. There is no timeline or one-size-fits-all ending period to the pain. • You’re still young so you can meet someone else.
any sense to them. If they were to turn and ask you what the reason is, what would you say? What you can do instead is to say something that shows you care but it offers no judgment, no rationalization, no reasons why or no expectation of the person. Here are some options: • I’m so sorry for your loss. That simply expresses
sympathy and care. • I can’t imagine what you are going through. This is more genuine than saying you know what they are going through, because no two situations are the same. • You are in my thoughts and my prayers. This can be very reassuring. • I’m here for you if you need me. This gives the person some power to decide if they need help at this particular time. • Share a fond memory of the deceased. People usually appreciate nice photographs of the deceased and they like hearing positive stories to remind them of the good times.
That is not reassuring in the least because the thing is, he is missing his wife and the children are missing their mother and no one else matters right now. Even the thought of finding someone else could seem like a betrayal at this moment. • Everything happens for a reason. When someone is consumed by grief, there is no reason that makes Limin’ Times Entertainment Guide
