Boogie Woogie Time at Myett’s If you haven’t been exposed to the hand clappin’, foot stompin’, fingers flying up and down the piano keyboard sounds of “Boogie-Woogie” – you are in for a treat. Myett’s is hosting legendary pianist Mitch Woods and his brand of music dubbed “rock-a-boogie.” Mitch Woods brings to his performance the authentic sound of blues inspired rock n’ roll, resurrecting the sounds of the iconic greats in this genre, including Professor Longhair and Fats Domino. Woods started out in his home state of New York as a student of jazz and classical music. A move to

I Love You...Do You Love Me Back? Ask Koren Dear Koren, Men are wretched creatures. After six months of dating, I told my boyfriend I loved him and he didn't answer. Then I said it again a week later and he just said cool. I asked him why he responded like that and he had the nerve to say he is not down like that right now. What is that supposed to mean? this is so important to you at this time and why you

Beginners This 2010, romantic comedy-drama written and directed by Mike Mills, tells the story of 38-year-old Oliver Fields (Ewan McGregor), a somewhat solitary graphic artist in Los Angeles grieving after the death of his father, Hal (Christopher Plummer). Flashback to three years earlier, shortly after the death of Oliver’s mother, Georgia (Mary Page Keller). At this moving time, Hal confesses to his son that he is gay and goes on to embrace the lifestyle he had always hidden and becomes very active in the local gay community, finds love and becomes more honest with himself and his son. Sadly, Hal is diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, and Oliver stays by his side till the end. Two months after Hal’s death, Oliver is in a state of functional depression and has adopted his father’s beloved Jack Russell terrier, Arthur – who he can bear to leave alone. Oliver’s friends talk him into going to a costume party and so with Arthur at his side and dressed as Sigmund Freud, Oliver gives impromptu psychoanalysis and meets Anna (Melanie Laurent) an aspiring actress, dressed as Charlie Chaplin and is “silent,” communicating with only pen and paper. From there, they start a tentative relationship that ebbs and flows with their personal uncertainties, and she goes to New York for a filming assignment. Through a series of flashbacks, Oliver looks back on

his life and begins to see his childhood as a time marked by his parent’s difficult and distant relationship. He also realizes that both parents had known about Hals sexuality from the beginning which had been hidden, as was the fact that his mother was from a Jewish family and had been discriminated against whilst growing up during WWII – and he realizes the emotional pain that surrounded them, living in an era when such lifestyles were taboo. When Anna returns to LA, the two decide to move in together, but sharing a home life together proves to be more stressful that either expected and Anna returns to New York. Oliver is devastated by the break-up and some time later, he resolves to contact Anna again and flies to New York, where he makes yet another discovery, but this time one that can see him having happiness and contentment in his life at last.

The objective is to fill the full 9x9 grid with digits so that each column, each row, and each of the nine 3x3 “sub-grids” that compose the main grid contains all of the digits from 1 to 9 – with no repeats within each row or column within the entire square. A partially completed grid is usually provided, which typically has a unique solution. See next weeks Limin’ Times issue for solution.
