Concert Friday launches Flow Flow, formerly LIME, is launching its new brand with a free concert at the Tortola Pier Park this Friday, May 13th at 8pm. Well-known soca artist from Barbados Peter Ram, and Jamaican reggae star Duane Stephenson will top the bill. “We wanted to launch our new brand with the biggest free concert in the BVI in years,” said Ravindra Maywahlall Head of Commercial, Flow BVI, who has been assisting with the transition locally. Also performing will be BVI favorite VIBE, and the ever-popular Virgin Islands fungi band, StanDuane Stephenson ley and the Ten Sleepless Nights of St. Croix. DJ Dre will also be on hand keeping up the beat and making sure the party never flags. Originally with the Jamaican band To Isis, Duane Stephenson released his first solo single in 2005 and his first album, From August Town in 2007. He has performed at Reggae Sumfest and toured with the iconic Jamaican reggae band, The Wailers. His third album Dangerously Roots: Journey from August Town was released in 2014.
Lime ... “to hang around idly” or “to go out on the town.” Source: The Dictionary of Virgin Islands English Creole by the late educator and historian Lito Valls. The Limin’ Times brings you all the news about when and where to “lime” in the British Virgin Islands.
Peter Ram is one of Barbados’ most popular performers. He has performed throughout the Caribbean, including the Virgin Islands, and received the “Best Soca Collaboration” award at the 5th Annual International Soca Awards in Queens, New York for Woman by My Side remix. Concert-goers are encouraged to wear blue and there will be a prize for the best dressed person reflecting the new brand. The LIME to Flow transformation is the result of the merger of Cable and Wireless and Peter Ram media company Columbus Communications. According to Flow BVI Managing Director Tim Ringsdore, “We are changing the face and DNA of our brand to embrace a newer, fresher, more dynamic Caribbean brand.” The company, he explained, will combine the flexibility of their mobile network with the strength of fixed fiber technology. Through the introduction of the latest apps, customers will be able to access content on multiple devices including mobile phone or smart devices, along with FlowTV in the near future.

Date Night in Paradise Over the weekend I decided to stop being so dull and do something. My boyfriend and I decided to ship the kids off to grandma and have some time for ourselves. Although the very popular black and white affair was going down neither of us were able to attend. We decided to start the evening with a movie. We saw Perfect Match at 8pm and Barber Shop: The Next Cut right after. Both are great movies if you ask me. I particular loved how Ice Cube used his platform to highlight crime and gang violence in his movie. Although it’s all entertainment you will not walk away without learning something about life essence from the movie. After the movies we weren’t ready to end our night as yet but unfortunately Aromas was closed for the night so we ended up at the popular spot The Edge over there at CSY Dock. It’s a bit small but the setting is great. There are bars inside and outside along the edges of the sea and a great DJ there no way you can complain about not having a good time. You think our night ended there? No way! As we slipped away from the crowd we ended up on the cay. We engaged in our thoughts and each other’s company while enjoying the fresh breeze and the sound of the ocean before another driver entertained everyone with his ole school music (yes that hour of the morning, 3am). We weren’t complaining though. Who does not like the sound of the late Luther Vandross voice? Moments like these simple dates are few and far-between for us but when we do get free time we love spending it together in our little paradise. Limin’ Times Entertainment Gude

Ask Koren
Your personal E-therpist, is in the house!
Ask Is Koren Spice Gone Dear Koren, I got married really young and now I am in my early 40’s with 20 years of marriage, and things are stale. We go to church come home, go to work, come home, attend to the children and then he likes to be out in the yard and I do the housework and cook. There is a guy at my job who flirts with me and it gives me a good feeling. I now get excited about dressing up to go to work and he pays me compliments when my husband doesn’t even notice if I change my hair or put on something nice. I know it’s wrong, but I like feeling alive again. What do I do? – Frustrated wife Dear Frustrated wife, Yes, it is pretty common that after many years of marriage, a couple can fall into a routine of just existing and the spice seems to have flown out of the window on a heavy breeze of indifference. You seem to have taken things for granted thinking that you love each other so all is well. While love is indeed the most important ingredient in your marriage, effort still needs to be made into keeping things interesting. It now sounds like it’s time to reconnect and rebuild on what you already have. While it is nice to be admired and complimented, the source you are currently getting it from is not suitable. Those situations have a way of escalating and that can mean disaster for your marriage if you take it too far with this coworker and end up losing the love of your life. Besides, if he knows you are Limin’ Times Entertainment Gude

married, don’t you think he is disrespecting you by flirting with you? I suggest you try to rekindle the flames in your marriage. Burning Flames sang a song “old firestick easy to ketch”. You are in the prime of your life and with effort on both your parts, you can create quite a love nest in that home. You can ask him if he notices anything different about the relationship and see if he has any suggestions for improvement. If he says no, then the onus is all on you to initiate the “Love Revival Project’. Start by spending quality time together and doing fun things alone that you both enjoy. Plan dates, experiment with new activities and increase your affection with each other. Resolve to pay compliments daily and this will mean you have to start noticing all the good things in each other so that your compliments are genuine. The light of your love might have grown a little dim but with effort, it can get brighter than it has ever been.
